This is just a weird thing. I get an area of pain within my back. I can tell where it is but I can't touch it, if that makes sense. It's not a muscle or a typical backache. Massage does not touch it. It's a hot spot about 2 inches to the left of my spine and about an inch above my bra band.
Any ideas?
UPDATE
Thank you for your replies. You ladies have me terrified.
I received a shingles vaccine four years ago (Zostavax) but I know it's only effective for 50% of the population. I read up on the new vaccine (Shingrix) and the Mayo clinic recommends getting it even if you already have a shingles outbreak. I am now the proud owner of a sore arm and a shiny new dose of Shingrix.
Fingers crossed that I don't really have a shingles outbreak on the horizon.

that's where i got shingles. Get thee to the doctor right away in case it is shingles. You need the antiviral meds asap if it is. All of us Peas who have had shingles are not wrong. Better to be safe than sorry.
Also that sucks and sorry you are in pain.

Yes, I totally agree with the shingles diagnosis. I think I almost wrote this post word for word a couple years ago and got the same answer from the peas.

So what did the doctor say it is besides giving you the shot?

I have the Rx to get it and would love to know if you get side effects from it. I need to go get it done and it's $250 here to receive it so I want to make sure the vaccine isn't going to make me sick as well. I have had shingles once years ago. It was awful!

Well, so far my arm is absolutely killing me. Other than that, no side effects from the vaccine to report. So, the hot spot I was telling you all about comes and goes. I felt it twice yesterday but not at all today. Is it possible this isn't shingles coming on? Is there such a thing as a mild case of shingles?

I get a tingly kind of frozen feeling when I get major anxiety. When I feel it I have to figure out what's stressing me out and calm myself down

I was really sick from the Valtrex and I was sick from having shingles. I don't know what was worse. I wasn't as sick as I was after China. It hurt and I felt "unwell" for a couple of months and the pharmacist said that was normal and it could last six months. I had little blisters on my bad my GP showed me and diagnosed it. I was really pissed that I was that sick. It was in about 2001 or so. I hope it's nothing. Maybe it will just go away by tomorrow. It sucks. It really does.

Did you see a Dr? Or just get the vaccine?

I hope it's not shingles
Could it be something digestive? Maybe keep track of when you get and if you have eaten anything. Maybe it could just be a nerve thing not shingles. I get this burning back in my shin/ankle sometimes and there is nothing there. It just goes away.

I did not see the doctor. I have nothing to show her, just the vague description I gave you here. I got the shot at my pharmacy.

One of the symptoms of an upcoming heart attack in women is pain in the back. Be safe and get it checked please! Hope you’re better soon.
