I got the TH Platform last night. Love it so far. The majority of my stamps are bare rubber. I use tape to mount them on the blocks. I see on Tim's most recent platform video it was designed for clear and cling mount stamps. I am getting good images but not perfect on solid stamps and some of the very detailed like large House Mouse. The majority of my House Mouse are unmounted down to bare rubber. I really got a platform to create with those large House Mouse stamps.
Are there any tips for using the platform with bare rubber? I am going to get a piece of fun foam. Know about the wood desk trick. My desk is wood. Any other tips would be appreciated.
Should I use the clear stamp side for bare rubber?
Should I be using tape to mount them to the lid? Is there a better way? Yes, I use repositionable tape.
Watched a lot of videos but they were not a big help.

I would use the clear side for bare rubber. It would bring the unmounted stamp closer to your paper than the cling side would. I might try shimming your cardstock if your current method of repositionable tape works to hold the stamp in place. Place 2 or 3 layers of cardstock together and then stamp. Fun foam would work well, too.
Hope you are able to get great images with one of these tricks.

The rubber stamps I use are mostly Stampers Anonymous and Graphic 45, with a sticky cushion on the back. They work really well on the platform. If you stick bare rubber stamps to the platform, a piece of funfoam stuck on the platform base might duplicate the thickness needed. Not sure how that would affect the magnets, though. I saw someone do that for regular stamping, but she used a super-thin piece of foam. I hope you can figure it out. What about emailing Tonic for advice? ETA looks like we were posting at the same time, freeatlast.

I have a lot of unmounted stamps that I took down to the rubber. So far, the bare rubber stamps on the clear stamp side works fine for me. I have not had to use any foam.
I painted the back of my bare rubber stamps with Aleene's Tack-It-Over-and-Over, allowed them to dry, and they stick to the platform as well as the clear stamps do. I have not tried double sticky tape.

Thank you everyone. I am definitely going to try the foam. I didn't get a chance to pick any up today. I did find a huge problem. It was user error. I was using Brilliance ink on index cards. I do all my test stamping on index cards. Of course I got sucky impressions, lol. Once I went to Versafine everything went much better. I got one of my House Mouse stamps on first try. It turned out beautifully. I accidentally grabbed the wrong ink pad in my excitement to play. Some stamps are still tempermental. I will definitely try the clear side too. I really love the press. I am so happy I waited to buy this one. I know with all the Misti drama and then platform delays and cancellations and all our talk about stamp presses when it came down to picking one I am really glad I went for Tim's. It was made for a stamper like me- messy, CPR, stamping with different mediums. It really resounded with me last night the majority of stamp presses on the market is a great and wonderful thing. We have so many to choose for our personalities.
