Looking for a recommendation on a good theme park point and shoot (going to WDW) and just wanting to take DSLR this time - expecting lots of rain while we are there. So considering something smaller, lightweight that will still take good photos - please recommend.

I have a canon powershot elph 300hs - that's amazing!! It's an ultra compact (about the same size as my phone), it has a great zoom, takes amazing pictures and it takes a beating. I've had it for several years and while it looks like hell, the pictures are great. I think this model is discontinued but I would replace it with another without hesitation as long as the reset speed is the same. DH gave me a newer one a few years ago and it's noticeably slower than the 300hs. have fun!!

nana2callie what's most important to you in a camera? wide aperture so it's good in low light? a long zoom? battery life? for me a viewfinder, a wide aperture and manual mode were most important so it helped me narrow down the list when I was shopping doing a quick search at Bestbuy.com this one seems pretty good - and waterproof/shockproof too! Fujifilm XP130

What is aperture? And differences you are trying to make from auto by using manual? Great suggestions!

Thank you for posting this. I am looking for a camera for my daughter Eliana. She will be 14 next month. She is more than slightly interested in photography now.
