Haven't walked in quite a while. Use to run, but my back issues have stopped that. There is a walking path on my way to boys school (1 mile up the road) that I pass daily. This morning it just hit me, no more excuses. ..and I came home and changed and off I went. Almost 2 miles. couldn't get my walking app to log me in so not 100% sure..but I've got jelly legs! Feels good tho...hope I stick with it!!

I have low back issues, and the doctor told me that walking is one of the best exercises for the lower back. I walk every day, and while sometimes I like it more than other times, I never miss. Congratulations on taking that first step! (Ha!)

Of course it has started to rain, so it's the treadmill for me today. I need to give my two beagles a bath first, but I am determined to get back to walking TODAY!

Yea i asked about walking at last appt. He said just do what feels ok..it will help strength your muscles. I miss running but not changing it...since I haven't has much relief with my issues I don't want to make it worse!

Great job! As much as I'd love to run, I just can't. So walking it is. I try to walk at least 2 miles (well, the loop I do is around 1.9) 4x a week and do a longer walk (3-5 miles) or a bike ride on the weekends. As fast as I walk (3.8-4.1 MPH), it's a great workout, but whatever speed you go, just going is GREAT! What app do you use to track your walks? I've been using RunKeeper, and I really like it. It syncs automatically to my Fitbit (via MFP, which I only use for this) and will track all kinds of activities, more than other apps I found. So when I ride, it'll track it as a bike ride. That kind of thing. Keep going!!
