I have done so many card swaps in the past I now have a plethora. I googled places to donate them.
Card Connections gives to cancer patients.
Anyone else done this? Any thoughts on donating extra cards from swaps ?

I'm assuming you're asking whether it would be appropriate to donate cards made by other people and swapped to you...?
My gut feeling would be that the swap was the purpose of the exercise, for the fun of it, so what you do with the cards after that is your choice. If you want to pass the cards onto someone to spread the joy, that seems like a great idea to me. The only other options would be to trash the cards, which would be a terrible waste and sad for the people who made them (if they ever knew) or to keep them in storage, which to me seems like a waste too. I would be quite happy to know that a card I sent out into the world was sent to someone who could use a little joy and encouragement.
There are some other threads around here with resources for who to donate cards to in addition to the group you mentioned, if you decide to go ahead. I know some people send them to their local rest homes, there are charities that send cards to kids in hospital, and if you have Christmas cards there is the big Caring Hearts card drive which I contributed to last year and plan to do again this year.
