Two that have really bugged me lately are game-changer and hack. Every stupid tip and trick is now called a hack. Even Martha Stewart's people use it in her social media. Usually someone will respond and say it's "genius. " That bugs me, too, so I guess that's three things that annoy me of late! Game changer is so overused in the business world and by news outlets. Just stop!

So many horrible phrases in one thread!!!
Mine is said by my boss 50,126 times a day. He says "I'm just talking out loud..." as he's brainstorming. The phrase is "thinking out loud".
Not only is it annoying, overused, but it's also wrong.

"It is what it is."
I don't like this phrase either, but have found myself saying it quite a bit lately when talking about why my dh and I are (hopefully temporarily) separating. I don't want to get into it in details with most people, and using the phrase kinda works for me. So for now I will keep using it while I keep hating it.

I hang out with a bunch of teenagers regularly, and sometimes I think if I hear or see the word "bae" one more time, I will stab someone. Really, it makes me homicidal...

"I literally....." Literally? ![:yeahthat:](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/yrGoHMAelQz8f2Qt0sjb.jpg) I hear it practically daily from this one particular person. She will say "I literally died when I had to call that customer back". Another thing she often says, that drives me batty, is "SUPPOSEBLY". Example: "That customer is supposebly sending in her payment next week". I want to yell out...."supposedly!!!!! not supposebleeee"

All I have to add is I'm very guilty if a lot of what's being listed ..haha I will add... "bea" I don't know exactly what it means...from the context I have seen it used in I'm thinking its short for "baby"? I'm not sure though. Oh and "haters gonna hate" <--- thanks Taylor Swift for that one!

drives me insane....he always says it at the end of a sentence.

I haven't heard a lot of the things that people have posted and am pretty glad about it because I think they would bug me too. Mine is: It's neither here nor there. If you are not physically looking for something, what the heck is that supposed to even mean? I've never questioned the person who keeps saying it because I know know that angry words would follow.

I thought of another two.... They don't actually annoy me (because I may or may not be guilty of saying one of them) but they bug the absolute crap out of a friend at work:
When you ask how someone is and they reply one of the following:
"Pretty good for a Monday"
or
"Livin' the dream"

Another one.... I heard someone on the radio today who was originally from another country. He was saying that Australians don't know what similes are because people always say "That's sweet as". The guy said that he always used to wait for the rest of the sentence - it's sweet as WHAT?
I have a friend that almost goes apoplectic when someone says that.

I hate when people write "didn't want to read and run". Aargh! It's a dreadful expression, either write a proper reply, or don't. Nobody's running anywhere! I also have to bite my tongue when out with a friend who finishes every sentence with "Do you know what I mean?" Uh yes, you're explaining yourself very clearly, and school uniform/what you had for breakfast/what your next car will be etc are not difficult concepts. Phew!

I use many of these phrases in casual conversation. ![O_o](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/browraise.png) Oops. The one that makes me want to leap up from my seat and throttle someone is, "I die." ![>:D](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/superangry.png) Can. Not. Stand. It.

Business babble really bothers me. All those made up words that mean absolutely nothing. I wish people would just say the real words.
People who just came back from a seminar are the worst.

I'm not a fan of 'my bad'. Just say you're sorry. Takes the same amount of time.

Not stupid, but annoying! Place an order for one item. One hamburger, that will be all, thank you. Would you like to make it a combo? No Would you like fries? No. Would you like a drink? No. Would you like a cookie(or other dessert item)? No. Grrrrr!!! The other night at the Taco Bell Drive-Thru: Me: A Cantina Burrito and a Diet Pepsi Cashier: And what else? Me: A Diet Pepsi Cashier: And what else? Me: a Cantina Burrito Cashier: No, would you like anything else? Just freakin' say so! ARGH!!!!!

Uber.
Super cute. I don't hear this IRL but see it all the time on this board. Cute is for kittens, puppies, babies, baby clothes. Grown women don't want to be cute, do they? So why are we calling shoes or handbags super cute? I guess I've never considered shoes cute. We're not in the 1950s anymore.

Mine is: It's neither here nor there. If you are not physically looking for something, what the heck is that supposed to even mean? I think "It's neither here nor there" means it's not relevant to the situation or the discussion.
ETA: Just looked up the origin: Is your coworker old? Has she been saying it since the 16th century? ![](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/TKS2q_7siLiFtq0xPQvx.jpg)

I so need this post..... I have recently joined the workforce and have been hearing this expression/phrase an awful lot.... "do what?" I guess I know what it means...but it isn't really a thing is it? It seems to me that is used instead of excuse me?, pardon me?, what?, sorry, I didn't hear/understand you? Am I nuts?? My dh does this. I had never heard anyone use it until I met him. I don't know if it's regional; he's from Iowa and I'm from Minnesota.
