Hi! I'm flying to Italy tomorrow and just went online and paid for Spotify Premium. Have a receipt in my email inbox.
I don't see any link to start downloading music, can't find anything having to do with Spotify anywhere on my computer.
I do have a spotify icon on my iPhone7 but it is not Premium.
How do I download music onto my phone?
Thanks in advance.

Ok, so I have the Spotify app on my laptop now. Account shows that it is a Premium account. I can play music but don't see any way to download anything...

My DH said just go to song or album and click download. You have to be on WiFi.

When you see the song you want there are 3 grey vertical dots on the right. Click that, it will give you options like save, add to playlist etc. When you save it should download. If it's downloaded there will be a green circle with an arrow pointing down under the song title, you know you have that song. If you find an album you want there is a slide that you can download the whole album at once.

You should be able to log into your phone as well as your laptop. Premium is for the main user plus 5 family members. Not sure if that just means 6 devices total, so your laptop and phone would be 2 users?!
You don't have to be on wifi, but it's the default setting in a phone I believe. It doesn't use much data to download a few songs.

Thanks twistedscissors and milocat! Sooo... I'm on wifi and have downloaded a whole album when I wanted just one of the songs... will keep playing but need to go to bed soon. On the east coast. What I most want to know right now is how to get this Spotify Premium to show up on my iPhone. I can see it on my Macbook and have successfully downloaded some music (though more than I wanted). How do I get it onto my phone so I can listen to the music without WiFi, like inflight tomorrow? TIA!

I'll try to help.. if you click on your playlist, below the title it gives you the option to shuffle play in green. then above the actual track listings it says download. then you can pick which songs you want.. does that help? i dont know if could send you a screen shot..
eta once you've downloaded them then they're on your phone so you won't have to have wifi

You can undownload songs, since you didn't want the whole album. Using the 3 gray dots it has remove from library as an option.
You'll have to log in on your phone as a premium member not the free member. Once they are downloaded (with the green circle and arrow under them) you can play them on the plane without data or wifi. To test if you are doing it right try a few and then put you phone in airplane mode and see if you can play those songs.

what milocat said. I usually try to check them to make sure they're on there, i've done that a few times, even in the airport if I didn't have enough to listen to.

How do I log in on my phone as a premium member? I've been on my laptop only so far, but had the free Spotify on my phone from before. @its me mg I have turned the phone off and back on and it didn't help.

You have to log off your account on your phone and then log back in with your username and password for your premium account on your phone

You have to log off your account on your phone and then log back in with your username and password for your premium account on your phone THANK YOU EVERYONE! I appreciate your hanging in there with me helping me out. I ended up deleting Spotify from my phone and then reinstalling it. THEN it did recognize that I had purchased the Premium membership. I've got about 20 songs downloaded along with several podcasts and will soon be on a two hour bus ride to the airport and will check and see if I can, in fact, listen to them sans Wifi.
