We have just finished dinner, so I thought I'd go ahead and get things started tonight.
DH continued with our World Cup theme dinners tonight - he actually waited for the first game to finish before deciding which way to go. France won, so it was Lamb with Provencal herbs and grilled meditteranean vegetables.

My *lunch bunch* gals are on their way up! For lunch I am serving Hawaiian King Roll ham and cheese sandwiches with fruit salad and chips. For dinner we’re having a salad of mixed baby greens with grilled chicken, strawberries, sugar snap peas, mandarin orange slices, toasted pecans and bleu cheese sprinkles with a raspberry vinaigrette dressing. Perfect for a very hot day!

It's 1:00 in the afternoon here. I finally quit drinking coffee. I've been working on my sweater this morning. I am trying to get another round of trim on then I'll hit the shower. I don't know what's for dinner. I'm going to head out to Jeremy's campsite in a little bit. I am bringing the dessert. It will be bananas split with chocolate chips, mini marshmallows, and Teddy Graham's. We will roast over the fire until everything is melty and then eat with spoons. Yum!
My uncle had a heart attack this morning. He is at the hospital and is stable. If you would like to say a prayer, I would appreciate it.

Tonight we’re celebrating dh’s birthday which is tomorrow and my bil’s birthday which is Thursday. We’re going to a “fancy” steakhouse and I’ll be eating steak! I’m probably having a ribeye with potatoes and salad. And there will be dessert of some kind, I’m certain!!

jeremysgirl- Praying for your uncle! It's a little after 10:30am here and dinner isn't really on my radar just yet. The sun is shining, but the wind is picking up. I'm thinking grilled Italian sausages with roasted peppers, baked beans and cut up fruit. It feels like summer here so I'm going to take advantage

sueg, thank you for starting the thread. How are you doing? What can we as your friends do to support you right now? I am starting to get worried, but mainly because I am having surgery, not anything more than that now. Right now, I am still just trying to keep things as normal as possible, and having me friends just treat me as normal is the best support I can have. If any of you are praying people, I also appreciate any you can send up for me. I kept working until this week, I keep checking in here. Hopefully, I will have internet in hospital, and can keep you all updated with my exciting meal options!

When you're ill it's imperative to have regular conversation rather than dwelling on your illness. Surgery is always nerve wracking, but it'll be over so quickly and then they'll give you the good stuff for pain. Right now your job is to let people pamper and help you when you need it. Above all, keep your sense of humor. I pray for you every night.

Also Golden Gate Park (the Japanese Tea Garden is right next door to the DeYoung, across from the Academy of Science). Also the boat trip to and tour of Alcatraz, although maybe it would be better when they're a year or two older. My kids (and the adults) loved it when they were 10 and 12. That needs to be booked online well in advance.

Keeping it simple here tonight. I'll grab a jar of spaghetti sauce from the freezer, some frozen meatballs, and boil up some pasta. Ta da - spaghetti and meatballs for dinner. Maybe a salad if the salad greens are still good.

I hope your uncle makes a full recovery jeremysgirl. Please check in when you can next week sueg - lots of healing thoughts will be heading your way. I was rooting around in the freezer and found a mystery fish, so pulled it out along with some tuna. DH has a couple of friends that love to fish and pass their extra our way and he doesn't always ask what it is. I was planning on making an Asian peanut sauce along with the spicy broccoli slaw someone posted a little while back, but might honor the French World Cup win and make a Salad Nicoise instead. The only ingredient I'm missing is the green beans.

For our dining pleasure this evening we will be enjoying fareway rotisserie chicken which I will pick up when I go to the store.......right now it's dark out, no wind, just perfectly clear, the temperature dropped about ten degrees, and very rumbly, I was cleaning house and decided to just sit for awhile......if my house is going to blow down in a storm it can do it dirty......LOL. bc2ca you are pretty brave to eat mystery fish even if it is out of your own freezer......... sueg I have been and will continue to send thoughts your way, I hope they arrive in time, it is an awful long way over there! jeremysgirl that concoction looks good, I am going to have to remember this for camping, thank you........ Happy Saturday Everybody!

Omg jeremysgirl Banana Boats!! My Gramma was a Camp Fire leader in the 50s and 60s for my Moms troop, and they use to make these. I grew up with her making them for me. Usually in the oven lol I always get a craving for them in the fall. sueg hugs and prayers sent. My plans for this evening for dinner and movie with friend got canceled. So chilling in tonight. My Mom and her friends had dominoes last night and she brought me a bunch of the food leftovers. BBQ pulled chicken, creamy dill potato salad, some kind of corn dish and strawberry shortcake. So I’m set for dinner! Going to order a movie on Amazon and pig out later.

After a very productive and busy morning, I've been so lazy this afternoon. I'm guessing that will last thru the dinner hour. I predict leftovers for dinner. I'm still enjoying all the fruit I bought yesterday.
sueg, I'm thinking of you today. I hope you can put worry aside and enjoy your weekend.

lucyg , My bff went to Alcatraz w/a group and slept overnight in the cells. He said it was mondo creepy, but fun. Though I wouldn't recommend that for kids, newlywoods03, but the day tour would be fun. leannec , that t-shirt is perfect. I'm a bookworm who loves cats. Have fun tonight and feel much better. PolarGreen12 , sorry that your night out was canceled, but enjoy your night in and have fun.

Hope your uncle will be okay, jeremysgirl. Thinking of you, sueg and hope all goes well for you. And here’s hoping the hospital food is delicious! I’m still on my own, but I have done nothing but binge watch You Tube vlogs, read and catch up on recorded tv shows. Kind of nice, sort of feeling guilty for being a slug yesterday and today, but I’ll get over it Not sure what I will have for dinner tonight, but my cookies last night were perfect!

sueg I have been praying for you daily and will continue. I pray that your surgery goes easy and you heal quickly and the hospital food is tasty! jeremysgirl Prayers being sent to your uncle. Since it is 96 degrees but feels like 100, DH will be grilling hamburgers, I will make corn on the cob and zucchini with onions and a fruit salad mixed with salad greens from our garden.

sueg ....I'm praying not only for your surgery to go well, minimal or NO pain, and a quick recovery--- but also, that God will calm your fears! The WAITING is so hard, isn't it? jeremysgirl ......Prayers for your uncle, so glad he's stable. That dessert looks SO yummy; it reminds me of the fun campouts in my Girl Scout days. KelleeM .....Happy "Birthday Eve" to Mister Kelleem scrapmaven .....OMG----they SPENT THE NIGHT at Alcatraz !??!! When we toured, it was SO creepy; I can't imagine they got ANY sleep, did they? Did they say if they had nightmares? I'm 99.9 % sure I would have! I should show y'all my Alcatraz scrapbook pages---DH was so cute, pretending he was locked into a cell, and we took lots of other silly piks. Oooh, that reminded me of the Ghiradelli Chocolate store in San Fransisco----we had the yummiest hot fudge sundaes there. I had some fun chocolate-themed stickers and used wayyy too many on my layout. That was back when I was a new scrapper and had "sticker SNEEZE"...remember that term? We're trying to figure out what we want for dinner---probably our usual Saturday night takeout pizza or Chinese....

Arrows of healing and peace of mind to you sueg as you face your upcoming hospital stay. Mighty forces, AKA your dinner tribe, will come to your aid and will protect you from worry with our love and concern. We have all been in your shoes, whether from our own medical issues or from just plain anxiety over something out of our control. That said, we are not literally in your shoes, but if we were, we'd give them back to you because they probably would not fit. May your hospital food be exceptionally delicious, maybe even gourmet, and may you heal quickly, hopefully with some fine zebra-striped Bandaids. Or some with cougars and geckos on them. Personally, I like the ones with shiny stars. A lot of stars. And more arrows of hope for jeremysgirl 's uncle who shall be lifted in prayer by the mighty women of our tribe, even as we cook potato salad or, possibly, macaroni salad. And may your sweater be as awesome as that dessert you have in the foil. Please tell your family not to accidentally consume a tiny little piece of foil like a certain scribe once did. Nothing worse than metal in the mouth, thin though the foil is. In fact, I hate thin foil and it is a pain in the tuckus to deal with when I am in a hurry to wrap something. Those bananas are cut perfectly, I might add. Thanks for the thread, sueg , and for entertaining our tribe with your food choices related to the World Cup. We are having a lot of fresh vegetables in a saute - corn, onions, cabbage, yellow squash shaped like a certain male body part some of us enjoy, and herbs grown on my deck. We also have shrimp and berries with whipped cream.
