Hello Pokeys! Just a note to let you know we survived Cousin Camp! It was lots of fun and I tried to remember to take photos, but I was sooo busy! I will have to get the photos the kids took too. It has been a crazy week with people in and out at odd hours. I just have a minute before we have to leave for a meeting tonight and I wanted to check in. I'll be back to chat later.

Glad you survived Cousin Camp, nylene ! You will need a week or so to rest up now, and then you will be all ready to join in with the August team challenges with all those photos your dgk's took. Hopefully justjac, LisaDV, woodysbetty, and msliz can continue to play along. And the rest of the pokeys can join us! Thanks for sharing your reno progress, kellyr21 and @elaynef ! Can't wait for the AFTER photos. Dh has been doing some sprucing up around the yard, but so far no major changes in the house since some necessary plumbing upgrades earlier in the year. How is your room cleaning/reorganizing going, msliz and LisaDV ? I have not been down in the basement for a few weeks. Will get back to that purge after the snow flies. Used to blame the mess on the kids, but now we know we are definitely part of the problem. Dh is in town for wound dressing with home care today. He says the area is almost completely healed. Has been off antibiotics for a couple of days. He is antsy to get out on the swather to cut hay for his nephew, but was told by medical staff that he was not allowed to do that until the skin had completely healed. They are ordering him some specially made compression socks to help the circulation in his lower legs, but those have not come yet. I have been busy in the garden, picking and preserving. The raspberries have another week left, probably. I have about 2 gallons of them in the fridge waiting for me to do something with them. The peas are just starting. Picked a small pail of them yesterday. I need to get out there this morning to check the other stuff. Dh has been watering at night and that and the warm weather are doing their magic. I started cleaning up my scrap room today b/c I had decided I was done creating for the month, but then I found a few things lying around that went with some photos I had, so I put together two quick pages. kindergrad 1 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr kinder grad by Gramma Dee, on Flickr They are both on white cs, but the second page photographed really dark and with a kind of yellowy tinge. No idea why. I was going to retake the photo but then decided to post it just the way it is.

Happy Monday, Pokeys! Last Monday in July. Somehow I had the days of the week and the days of the month all confused and thought that today was the 29th. Good thing I looked at the date on my computer when it rebooted and realized today is my oldest ds's birthday. Managed to contact him at work so dh and I could chat with him for awhile. I have been up to my elbows--literally--in garden produce the last few days. I have a couple of gallons of raspberries ready for freezing now, waiting to cool before putting into the freezer. And another couple of gallons smashed down to 8 cups so I can gel up another batch of jam after lunch. Meanwhile I have a couple of gallons of shelled peas to blanch while I am preparing supper. And then tomorrow the picking starts all over again! I managed to start 3 cards and finish two of them over the weekend. I need them for early August and wanted to finish them in time to pick up a few more July Team points. The two that are finished are in the Gallery. Speaking of teams, I see LisaDV and msliz and woodysbetty signed up for the August Teams. stinkerbelle will be closing off the sign up sometime tomorrow. Anyone else? Okay, back into the kitchen...

Wow, you are very busy grammadee. I am home! We left Colorado Thursday, stayed in Gillette, drive to my sister’s in Regina Friday, and then drove home Saturday. It was a good trip. I had a great time at the Scrap Happy retreat. Kristina Sorge was our instructor for classes. I have at least four layouts to finish and upload from her classes. The ladies were so nice. Next year may be in Calgary. I have my fingers crossed. Then I met up with my mom, sister, and aunt in Denver and we drove to Cedaredge to visit my uncle and aunt. We had a good visit and managed to see three cousins as well. I had a minor meltdown after our first day of driving home. I just needed some quiet alone time. I am trying to start living healthier again. I went for a walk this morning and I started journaling my food again. I am unsure if I want to sign up for the August challenge or not. I paid no attention to the challenges this month. Waving hi to everyone.

justjac, I don't know how you tolerate so much traveling. I would have more than a minor meltdown with all that you have going on. I'm glad you are safely home and ready for some peace and quiet. grammadee, your garden sounds wonderful. Wish you could wiggle your nose and ship me some of your raspberries. Mom and dad had 2 big patches and we each took turns coming home to have a picking. I'm happy to hear that DH is doing better. Keep that man off the tractors! @elaynef and kellyr21, I wish you were here to give me pointers on home decor. I am loving your ideas. LisaDV, it seems that you have some great ideas too. I have signed up for the August challenge and hope not to let anyone down. I am totally exhausted right now, but the troops are going camping for the next 3 days before returning here. I hope to get my 2nd wind then. I am having withdrawal from scrapping, but my wrist is doing well and I am ready to get moving when all my company heads back home. It has been a wonderful visit. I wish they were a little closer. Will start a new thread tomorrow or Thursday am. It can't be August! Waving to all our Pokeys!!

Hi everyone!
I'm just doing a quick check-in and send a warm hello! I spent a lot of time composing replies and asking questions to everyone last Thursday afternoon and right as I was ready to post, I hit a wrong button and lost everything. I thought I'd make it back before now to re-do the whole thing, but I don't have the time or energy at the moment. I have been reading what everyone is up to though.

I have a hard time posting anything more than a quick hello because I'm usually on my phone. I don't know how to read and post at the same time, so I usually wait until I can have my laptop open to 2 separate windows. Ack, I'm hopeless! Hello Pokey Peas! @elaynef , your roof. Ouch. That's awful. I'm sure you had other plans for that money. nylene , I'm so glad Cousin Camp was another huge success. And I'm thrilled that you'll be scrapping with us again! justjac , how awesome that you fell right back to healthy habits as soon as you got home! grammadee , we have raspberries on our property too, but nowhere as much as you have. I've never made jam - we just pick them and immediately shove them right in our faces. kellyr21 , I hope you'll include a photo of your newest painting when you show us your new living room. I love seeing what you've made! LisaDV , how is DD's bedroom coming along? We keep getting sidetracked here, and we never seem to finish my DD's bedroom project. The heat in the attic is unbearable during the day, so that only leaves a small window before bed and in the mornings to work while we can have the A/C on, and there's always something else we'd rather be doing. So the clutter is still sitting around waiting for us. I had a lot of fun at the wedding last week, but I never got the photo of DH and me that I wanted. I did get a nice one with DH, a DD and me. And I got a funny one of SIL and me with 3 of our kids, but I didn't get a nice picture of the bride, our niece. I keep checking facebook so I can steal a photo, but she's still away on her honeymoon. I hate waiting See you all in August!
