I have happily had a relatively unproductive 2 weeks. My DS has a job so I have been driving him to and from/which means I haven’t gotten to sleep in yet. 😞 BUT he just got his license. His job is 30-45 minutes away and I am almost ready for him to drive it on his own. Probably next week.
I have done zero school work or prep aside from looking on Pinterest, lol. I have two vacations planned in August (one a full week at our condo since we have only done weekends there, and another in Punta Cana to celebrate my best friend turning 50! ) i have never been to an all-inclusive so I am excited to try it!
Oh-and I started an Instagram page for my dog to keep me occupied. “Baci the chughuahua” has had a lovely summer being photographed! Lol feel free to follow him if you like a cute little dog!

Just finished summer school last week. I’m still driving one kid back and forth to orchestra camp daily. I was actually pretty productive today around the house. I’m going over to my new school on Thursday to start inventory in my classroom so I can get my supply order in. We go to Maine July 17-26, and then I start in-service August 1! 😭

We do 2 days of parent interviews and 3 stagger days, so I don’t start with my entire kindergarten class until the week after Labor Day. Where in Maine are you going? We went 4 years ago and it was beautiful! Good luck with the new inventory!

I worked up until vacation (summer curriculum project), then was in Alaska until last week then did a few days at a conference. I do a little all summer, really, but most of it is from home.
Won’t do much this week, though! Taking a little break!
I’m back at it the first week of August for new teacher training, our 1:1 rollout/training, and then we go back the 13th.

We have been off for a month. We live at our lake house the entire summer. I get up around 7:00 every morning, drink coffee, go for a run most days, and then walk dogs with my husband (also a teacher). I took three online classes this year and had two of them done before the end of the school year. I finished the third one and submitted it on June 15. I've been reading quite a bit and when it's nice out that's usually outside. I've been working on a crocheted blanket on days that it has rained. Because we have had a lot of heat and rain blueberry picking season has started a couple weeks early. We freeze most of them but I have made a pie and today made muffins. On the days that I don't run, I plan to pick with my dh. I put a little more effort into baking and meals during the summer. We are teaching our 15 year old to drive. We also spend some time having cocktails or beers with our friends. It has been a very relaxing summer so far.
A lot of people are in our area for the 4th of July. I am running a 5k at the local community center tomorrow. It's the first time they've done it and it sounds like they have well over 100 people signed up so far and will register more tomorrow. We have a parade on Wednesday - mostly goofy entries. In the past we've had a lot of family come up for the 4th, but with it being on a Wednesday and people having to work, we'll be on our own. We'll probably meet up with some friends later in the day for apps and drinks.
My oldest daughter is doing an internship in her college town, so at some point I plan to go out and spend a couple days with her. She'll be moving to one of the coasts next year, so I have to take advantage of her being a little over three hours away. I also need to get in a visit with my dad. I still feel like I have a lot of summer left.

We have talked about having a summer place in Maine (I fell in love with Camden, Maine and it our son’s Name!) and a place at the beach for the rest of the year. Maybe one day!

I have finished two PDs and have two more coming up.
I’ve been cleaning and reorganizing my kitchen, as well.
I will be starting my IEP work as soon as I get my caseload lists and start on my classes soon.

It always takes me a couple of weeks to find the energy to accomplish anything. I've crossed a few things off my to-do list, but I still have many more to go. We have no vacations planned because all our extra money is going to pay for college for our two kids. We will spend a long weekend at my mom's cabin, but that's it. I'm fine with that. DS is home for what will probably be his last summer home, so I've been enjoying our time together. I've also been reading a lot. It's the most peaceful summer I've had since before I had kids!

I’ve had to take tons of PD and actually am teaching 3 session of PD in July. My boys have been in baseball camps and conditioning camps all summer and the oldest just finished his travel baseball season. I cannot believe that my summer is half over! I haven’t knocked anything off my to do list and we haven’t done anything fun! Ugh! DH is a teacher too and we just don’t have the money to take a vacation. We thought we might be able to sneak a long weekend away somewhere close, but the oldest’s baseball drained the pocket books.

This is the 1st summer in 8 years that I told DS I am not paying for him to sail-hence the job! I know he misses it, but I don’t miss paying for the race team AND regatta fees AND driving him all around to race! He will sail again when school starts for the team. I hope you get a chance to have some fun time!!

My last day was June 1. My DD's (6) last day was June 8. She goes back July 24. I go back Aug 8 w/o kids, they show up Aug.10. Yes, that's a friday. Our back to school night is the 9th. Yes, before school starts. I love it that way! Anyway- I had one week off where I volunteered at DD's school a few days. Then it was gymnastics on Mondays at 3:30 (an hour one way away) and art camp Tues, Wed, Thurs for 2 hours in the morning (25 minutes one way away). I had DS (2) with me at art camp and had to keep him occupied. We ran lots of errands while DD was at camp! We had camp for 3 weeks. This is the first week she doesn't have camp. Tomorrow she's going out on the delta with DH and FIL for the 4th. I'll see them again on Thursday. We have friends coming to stay the 4th-7th. My parents will come visit at some point next week. We've been out on the lake and tested out our new towable (our old one was WAY old and the straps pulled off the front!). We kayaked with cousins in the mountains. I've managed to read 2 books. I got a new to me us cutter from a friend. She also gave me a bunch of vinyl. I made father's day shirts and cards. I'm starting to think about my classroom. I will go in when DD goes back to school and paint my classroom door. I plan to put a frame on the inside of it and put a vinyl quote of some sort in the frame. I also want to add vinyl quotes and stuff to my classroom cabinets. I didn't measure them before I left and don't want to drive 35 minutes just to measure them. I know I'll find TONS more to do there if I go in. Unfortunately, DH is working most of the time I'm off and I REALLY don't want to wrangle the kids to school and then worry about them diving off the play structures and getting hurt. I designed a lesson plan book for myself since I can't find one I like. I'll print that on the color printer when I go back in. The secretary said she'd print it for me. Then I get to bind it. Today at Target I found bins I've been looking for to use in the new science lab I'll be in when school starts again. SUPER excited about the lab! We were supposed to go to Fort Bragg for a long weekend but that fell thru. So... we're home. Hitting the lake and playing when we can. AND it's HOT HOT HOT right now so I'm enjoying the AC!

Not a teacher, but I work at a school. This past school year was my first full time job in over 20 years. I was so looking forward to summer break to have time to do all the things I usually did. I ended up having a hysterectomy and pelvic organ prolapse repair. My recovery will be over just in time for me to start back at the end of July.

I taught summer school and just finished last Friday. We are updating some classrooms so I am still working, my school is 60 years old and we work hard to make it look fresh year after year even though it’s old.
I feel like I only have a few weeks now because I’m teaching in service in August. that’s next month. I don’t like the way that sounds!

We are lucky that our maintenance and custodial staff are really, really good so our school is always looking clean! Good luck with your inseevice!

I finished June 12th. I’ve done a tremendous amount of work in my gardens but really need to get painting the interior of my house. We have several 3-4 day trips planned, the first this weekend in Dedham, MA for DH to judge a car show. Should be interesting! Lol At least it’s suppose to cool off!
I am doing nothing work related. I’m starting at a new school August 22nd. I was at a new school this past year and it was awful. I’m hopeful for the new one.
DH is off for the summer, too, so it’s nice.

Update! I've been spectacularly unproductive this morning except for walking the dogs. I'm the only one here! DH and older DD are both at work, and the youngest is at camp.
What to do, what to do ...

I finished May 25th (yes, that means I'll be headed back Agust 1st ) I'm very unproductive in the summer and have learned to embrace that! I work really hard for 10 months/190 days and I don't begrudge myself the down time in the summer. I walk every morning, read, do craft projects and I'm happy every day! Nothing better than a second cup of coffee out on the porch on a summer morning.
Merge and shescrafty, we just got back from a week in Maine and loved it. We were there ahead of the rush evidently and it felt like we had the place to ourselves. We did one night in Portland, 3 nights in Bass Harbor/Acadia, and 3 night in Rockport. Every day was wonderful and COOL!

I am so incredibly bored.
ETA: I’ve been out since May 25th. We have teacher workdays starting 8/6 and students are back 8/9...that’s if our brand new building are done.
I really am quite bored. I don’t have any children and my DH works all day. I have a puppy who needs to be watched like a hawk for peeing, chewing, and all the mischievous things he does so when I’m home I have a hard time doin anything. I don’t really want to go out because that means I’m spending money and well I teach in NC and we don’t make much money so I’m broke. I don’t really have a lot of people who want to hang out and do something in the summer and the ones that do, have 2-3 young kids (ages 2-7) and I don’t really want to be around a bunch of kids who don’t know how to entertain themselves for any amount of time. I can’t even prep for the new school year as my role this year isn’t requiring that. Yes, I’m being grumpy right now but the daily boredom has really gotten to me.

I've been only marginally productive for these past two weeks. I have taken care of some kids' and dog's doctor appointments, but not my own. I've done some crafting and some tidying, but not the massive restocking of my card stash and decluttering of the house that need to happen.
Next week, I'm going to a professional conference, and later this summer we'll go visit my folks. Between those trips we have houseguests. Then in August I send one kid off to a foreign exchange program and another off to *gulp* college. In between those two things, I will do a 2-day workshop.
Not really sure when I'm going to do my lesson planning... mid-August, maybe?

That means that I can’t really do much planning until we all meet for the first time in August.
