Today I am starting the thread by asking for all prayers, positive thoughts and good wishes that we can muster for our very own sueg. Sue, is a delight and I so enjoy hearing about her travels, local journeys and her yummy dinners. May surgery be easy and recovery be comfortable and quick removing all cancer from Sue's body. desertgirl, please rev up that quiver! Dinner is either chicken parm or Chinese take-out. What's on your menu? Have a calm and peaceful day, my tribe.

Prayers for sueg! Hopefully she’s resting comfortably right now! My calm and peaceful day began with watching the sunrise over the ocean with my husband ❤️ We then had a delicious breakfast out. We’re home relaxing now. Dinner is is going to be....food, for sure! Dh mentioned grilling hot dogs but I’m not sure I want them. I have avocados, crispy tortilla chips, Mexican shredded cheese and salsa...that sounds like dinner to me. If only we had margaritas!! Hmmm...maybe it would be worth a trip to the store!

Continued prayers and positive thoughts for your fellow tribe member, sueg. I had already cooked the orzo for the salad I planned on making Sunday before the power went out, so I will use it to make a taco orzo skillet dish tonight.

I, too, KelleeM , have those exact ingredients so we are having them tonight in nacho form, perhaps with a few farmer's market cherry tomatoes on top. Quivers are full, sueg and scrapmaven , with huge, new arrows I bought at the 2PeasRefugeeeeeeeeeeees Arrow Store here in my rural community in the mountains. They send much hope, encouragement, patience, healing, and peace of mind to all who suffer today, but especially to our own sueg . We do love her! Thank you for the thread. Many of us have a heat wave going on and so we must take care of our hydrating needs. I have yoga in an hour and the teacher always has some kind of delicious herbal tea, iced and ready to rumble. May we all be watered down and rarin' to go during supper-fixin' time!!

Sending prayers, Huge hugs and positive thoughts to sueg. I have no idea what is for dinner. I have been thinking and planning tomorrow’s barbecue that we are hosting for part of DH’s family to join us. Maybe I will get something at the store that is easy to make. Today it is really hot again.

Healing vibes to sueg! KelleeM, just stop on by and I'll set you up with a margarita. I've got leftovers from our Mexican fiesta last weekend. I was hoping our Director might send us home early today. Keeping my fingers crossed. Especially given my boss is on vacation, my report is done, the $211,000 I was looking for was found. And now I'm twiddling my thumbs. We will drive thru whichever restaurant the kids feel like tonight on our way to the fireworks show followed by bonfire at our friend's house. I am ready to gooooooo. Three rows into my next sweater. And I have to say I absolutely love the yarn I'm working with. So pretty and so soft. I think my sister-in-law will love it. I absolutely love giving my projects away to people who appreciate them. It really warms my heart to give something I worked hard on.

It is another hot, humid day in SW Ontario. Going to a Supper Market on the shores of Lake Ontario tonight. Basically a few breweries and food trucks, including Marble Slab ice-cream

Hugs and prayers sueg My mission this week is to start clearing out the fridge of items that need used up before we leave town. Tonight we're planning beef stir fry with rice (the cauliflower variety for me). Then Dh can take all the leftovers with him to work the next day.

Thinking of you, sueg. My dh returned home yesterday from from a military sports camp in Chicago for disabled veterans and he’s pretty much been in bed since he arrived. He had a great time doing so many sports he’s never done and they really went all out for the vets. He’s exhausted, but at least it’s a good exhaustion. I ordered groceries and everything was in stock. Yay So, I’ll pick those up and prepare a few things for tomorrow when our daughters, their dhs and dogs come over. Not sure about dinner for tonight, but something easy and quick. Maybe I’ll make a low carb quiche for my dh.

Prayers to sueg, hoping all has gone well and she is resting nicely. We also are in the boat of not sure what's for dinner. I am working til 5 tonight (and like jeremysgirl, hoping they will shut it down early!). Then once I get home, we will leave to meet daughter's grandpa halfway to get her home. We should be home about 8 - 8:30. Dinner is up in the air since there are no leftovers in my house.

Love to our Tribe member sueg. I am hoping it was a total non-event. Over and done with. Please let it be that way. So I heard from my friend in Spain with the Italian husband who owns the restaurant at 6 this morning. I was sleeping then so she called back again at 6:30. I was incoherent but she wrote directions what I need to do to make my dish. (Shells with shrimp and sauce). It sounds pretty easy. I just need to thaw the shrimp as we have plenty in the freezer. It doesn't sound too hard. Her husband says don't make a cream sauce because it will be too rich. He said I need a tomato sauce. Ok I can do that.

Sending more hugs to you, sueg. Busy day: Neues Museum, boat trip, Fernsehturm (nice restaurant), Checkpoint Charlie and Mauer Museum. My feet hurt, but it has been a fun day. Oh, dinner! Veal tenderloin steak with beet couscous and aspargus, and key lime pie for dessert. Now I'm on the bed, drinking tea and eating Pringles.

Hello sueg, you may not be reading this today, but you are in my thoughts.
I'm planning veggie fried rice this evening. We aren't always so good about eating our veggies plain, but we both love lots of veggies in our fried rice. We have lots of watermelon or peaches for an after dinner treat.
newlywoods03, I'm making your Mexican Corn salad for a cook out tomorrow. It looks like it might benefit from sitting and blending over night. I'll let you know how it turns out.
jeremysgirl, did you ever share a picture of the sweater you already finished? I might have missed it last week when I was gone.

Continued prayers for sueg !!!! krcrafts ----I'm SO thankful to our veterans and have so much respect for them! That's great that they have a camp like that, and I'm glad your DH had a fun time. KelleeM ---sunrise on the beach sounds like pure heaven !!!! I met a sweeeet friend for lunch, it was SO nice to catch up, and we wished we'd had more time to chat. We both had salads with grilled chicken, which comes with the BEST croissant I've ever had! Dinner will be leftovers of one of our fave dinners----roasted potatoes, chicken, and broccoli. I thought of y'all today when I picked up some seduced strawberries and yellow squash

My day is not going as planned because of the extended time England/Colombia game and now I'm sucked into a Fixer Upper episode I haven't seen where they are renoing a midcentury modern. I midcentury modern. My errands, including a grocery store run, should have been done a couple hours ago and dinner decided. I might go really easy and make a giant roast beef focaccia sandwich with Caesar salad if they aren't sold out of focaccia. Thinking of you sueg!

prayers for suegOur house is completely tore up because DH is removing the fireplace from the living room and redoing all the floors. To say the least, cooking has not been easy this week. To add to it we've had a ton of rain and I haven't been able to grill like I'd like to. The sun is shining so I'm going to make an attempt at grilling chicken tonight. Not sure if I'll do a Greek marinade or something else...I'll add a green salad and wild rice (that I can make in the microwave).

I think my sister-in-law will love it. I absolutely love giving my projects away to people who appreciate them. It really warms my heart to give something I worked hard on. I know what you mean! Since I started scrapbooking wayyyy back in 1998 I have made MANY scrapbooks as gifts for family, friends, and coworkers, and everyone was so appreciative. I've heard of recipients of scrapbooks that did NOT appreciate them at all, and that makes me sad. I've always wondered......HOW could someone NOT appreciate an album full of memories, made with love by someone!??! My favorites to make were the "life" albums for my nieces and nephews when they graduated from high school; (starting from their birth up to 12th grade). One of my nephew's girlfriends went crazy over all the cute memories, and said " wow, your Aunt REALLLLY loves you" It was sooo sweet!

Short story, my neighbor took apart an album she was given , threw out the photo and sold the album and embellishments in a rummage sale. She is not a keeper nor is she sentimental. She would have rather had a Starbucks card. ( I told the person who made the album that, but she went ahead and made the album. )

MIL couldn't help herself..... she figured that if we weren't going to be at her house for dinner this week then she'd make sure we wouldn't go hungry, and she made a couple of different pasta dishes for us to take away with us. It was nice to be able to just throw them in the oven after a big day up at the snow. Thinking of you sueg, i hope you're recovering well.
