It's in the mid to high 90's here with 80%-90% humidity, I should be roasting but instead I'm always cold. I'll get warm sitting in the sun for hours but not hot like previous summers. Inside in the air condition is almost torture to me. I can't describe just how cold I feel.
Instead of wearing cute little shorts and flip flops, I'm in my mom jeans and carrying a jacket. Talk about getting some funny looks. We had our beach trip two weeks ago and I even froze the whole time. Sitting on the beach all bundled up made me think something isn't right and maybe I should see my doctor.
Since google scares me, I'm asking the next best thing...the peas! So got any ideas? Would you see a doctor about this one issue?

I’m the opposite—always warmer than I used to be—and I brought it up at my annual exam last week. I’m having my thyroid tested. I think it’s worth asking about. Does your insurance or clinic have a nurse line? I find those really helpful (and free!).

Do you have dry skin also?
Cold all the time suggests thyroid to me.

Get your thyroid tested, request the full panel with T3 T4 and total. There's another one, I can't think of it right now. keithurbanlovinpea help! And don't assume that it is okay, even if it is normal range. Make sure your doctor asks you about other thyroid symptoms and takes you seriously. The range is really a guideline and some people can be symptomatic and need treatment while their blood levels are within normal limits. Good luck, and I'm jealous. I'm the exact opposite, except my hands sometimes. I love being cold and you can always add layers. I can only get so naked

Hypothyroidism is probably the most common cause of what you describe, particularly in women. An endocrinologist will treat this with blood levels that primary care doctors may consider normal, so it's best to see an endocrinologist if possible.
A drop in estrogen can also cause this. We hear about hot flashes, but sometimes after the hot flashes are through they are replaced with feeling cold. I've experienced this.
Have you recently lost weight? That can also lead to feeling cold.

See your regular Doctor OR a Naturopath. My naturopath diagnosed me with a higher than normal reverse T3 which doesn't progress properly through the cascade of hormones. I am frequently cold as well. Hope you get to the bottom of your issue!

I was going to say thyroid. We went tubing the other day and dd, who has hypothyroidism had goosebumps. The rest of us did not.

Thyroid disease always my first thought for women when it comes to a host of symptoms, but usually with hypothyroidism, you will manifest several ailments. Just being cold could be a number of things, including what gsquaredmom said... anemia. Do you have any of these? stopthethyroidmadness.com/symptoms/If so, then yes, go to a doctor and describe what you have and say you suspect an underactive thyroid. As dewryce mentioned, you will need a full panel of labs including free T3, free T4, reverse T3 (if they'll do it) and TPO/TgAb antibodies (to rule Hashimoto's in or out). Feel free to tag me with more ?? Thanks dewryce !

Thyroid is my guess. Or, recent weight loss will do it, too.
Poor DH is like this. I am the opposite.

When I was anemic I was always cold. Once that was settled, my body warmed up.

I think I recall a big weight loss for you, that would be my guess.

Do you have any other medical problems? on any med's? really, you should see your Dr and talk to them, vs the Ps.

Thanks y'all! I'm going to make an appointment to get my thyroid checked. Thanks for the link keithurbanlovinpea. I do have several of those symptoms and armed with that info I'll be better prepared to discuss it with my doctor. My big weight loss was 8 years ago and I've been the same low weight since then. I'm also always anemic at every check but they've never done anything about it. There doesn't seem to be a cause and it's been that way for years. Health wise I've been so focused on my brain tumor and radiation for it that everything else has taken a back seat. Now that radiation is finished and the tumor is back to a better small size, I need to start talking about being so very cold. I was experiencing this before radiation but didn't think it was that big a deal. It was also still cool out and not 95 degrees. Thanks again everyone!

Beta blockers can cause this if you are on them.
My Moms chronic anemia that was followed for years turned out to be rectal cancer only diagnosed after her hip broke.

Besides your thyroid, have your B12 checked.I agree with the anemia. I do anyway because of my heart, it always bottoms out after a procedure. But it's mainly due to my heart not pumping enough of the good oxygen to the rest of me, especially my legs.I'm still waiting for my results to come back as we just checked them again, but I'm like you I wear fuzzy socks at home and it's 110 here now through Aug lol! Hope your Dr can figure it out!
