I can't imagine their fear and their parenrs' fear. I can't imagine finding your child and not being able to help them. I hope all of the boys and their coach make It out successfully.

Will be thinking about them all day, may everyone make it out safely, the boys, the coach and rescuers. Since they are football fans my big hope is that this time next week they will have rested and recovered and will be sitting around the TV watching the World Cup Final.

They clearly decided there was no time to lose with the likelihood of the rains and potential flooding coming soon. Those poor parents - it's probably scarier for them than the boys themselves who possibly don't understand all the potential dangers.

It is just so frightening. Even reading about the flooded passages makes me feel claustrophobic. I only hope that the boys are treating it as a big adventure without knowing just how danagerous the rescue mission actually is. The rescue team are amazing aren’t they.
I do have a question about how they got there - I know that the caves are visited often etc and that the rain forced them further in but did they actual crawl in through those tiny tunnels? Before the flooding arrived I guess as I can’t see how they could have negotiated them without drowning otherwise.
The friends and families must be desperate, I cannot imagine how they are feeling and just hope that everyone is brought out safely.

I'm praying that this will be successful. What dreadful pressure those 18 divers are under knowing that so many lives are depending on their expertise and skill. They're all heroes IMO. They're expected to bring out the first at about 3pm GMT. They've already been in there nearly 5 hours. That alone gives one some idea of how hazardous this whole operation is.

Before the flooding arrived I guess as I can’t see how they could have negotiated them without drowning otherwise. I'm guessing that they went further in to find higher ground as the water was coming in towards them. Then more water came is to totally flood the narrow passageway. There seems to be three lots of water with the narrow passageway in the middle when one looks at the graphics.

Just seen a live BBC report and it’s pouring with rain there. In a world where we see stupidity, petty squabbles, posturing, etc etc (no, not a finger solely at one person or country, it happens all over) it is so heartwarming to see so many willing to help and working so hard to bring this situation to a successful resolution. I get why they have moved the media back and put tarps up but I do hope they keep us appraised of the situation.

The Thai government has published a graphic detailing how each child will be rescued. Two divers will accompany each boy, who will wear full face masks as they are guided through the passageways by rope. When facing a particularly narrow path the divers will release the tank from their back and slowly roll it through as they guide the boy through. This means that the boys will never be alone, as had been previously feared. They will then walk from chamber 3, which has been drained to the extent that it is possible to walk in it, to the mouth of the cave that they entered on June 23. Can't get the imagine to load on here but here's the link to the BBC's correspondent on twitter.

Cave diving is extremely dangerous at the best of times. I think the diver bringing up the rear will have chosen a very short straw.

I wonder how on earth they decide who is to go through first. The youngest? The strongest? The weakest? My brain is telling me the strongest so any problems can be reassessed after that and hopefully he will get out safely and give renewed hope to everyone.

My brain is telling me the strongest so any problems can be reassessed after that and hopefully he will get out safely and give renewed hope to everyone. A report I heard last night said they were planning on bringing out some of the stronger boys first, for just the reasons you said. From everything that has been said about the coach, I think he will choose to be the last one rescued - get his boys to safety first.

Some very difficult decision to be made that's for sure. I'll go with your thoughts too, for the strongest for the same reasons. From all reports I've read they're all pretty chilled mentally. That seems to be down to the young coach who has been teaching them how to meditate until the others arrived. Something he learnt how to do as he used to be a monk apparently.

Please, please let them all be peacefully and safely be returned to the arms of their loved ones.

The Guardian and the BBC are reporting that the first 2 boys are out of the cave. No word on their condition yet.

A 4th boy at the cave entrance and 5&6 at the 3rd chamber. It seems like they decided to move and it's all going pretty fast now. They weren't expecting the first boys out for about another 2hrs or so they are ahead of schedule.

What I am currently reading (via the Guardian) is that the water level is currently lower than expected, so they are able to walk the boys a lot further and it is going more quickly than they first thought possible. But - more rain is falling, so water levels may rise again, so they are trying to get as many out as quickly as they can before that happens.
