I’m looking for a strapless bra, preferably one that has straps that can be used in a variety of ways. Does anyone have recommendations? I wear a 36DD.

I wish I could tell you yes, but I have absolutely loathed 99% of the strapless bras I've found. The only one that has been semi tolerable has been essentially a tube, but that doesn't help if you have a dress with a low back.
They're all bullshit.

I have this one. I have big bobs but this does a pretty good job of staying put. link

I don't think I have considered getting a strapless bra since my wedding 19 years ago. But there are so many cute shirts out now that would require one, that I figured they must have gotten better if people are more willing to wear them in their everyday life? I don't know how often I would actually wear one, so don't want to spend a lot. But I do have a few shirts that would work better with a strapless bra.

I only wear strapless bras and have done so for many years. I'm also only a 36C, so that does factor in how strapless is easier for me to wear. YMWV. I can't tell you what specific bra brand to look for, as my favorite is over 10 years old and I got it at WalMart. Believe it or not, that bra is still like brand new today. It gets washed on the gentle cycle and air dried several times a week and is still showing no wear at all. What I can tell you from knowing what makes my bra the best I've ever owned is to first look for one with firm cups. Not industrial strength firm, just firm enough to hold their shape. The cups also must be a bit high. 80% boob coverage, minimum. Otherwise, you get unsightly spillage over the top and crumpage of the cups. Support gone. Second is the rubberized strip in the band. This is critical to having a strapless bra stay put. If it doesn't have a rubberized strip, put it back. Third is underwire support. Must be flexible and not huge in gauge. The bigger the underwire, the more damage it will do to the bra itself and the more uncomfortable it will be. True story: I once tore the house apart for 20 minutes, looking for my bra. Only to realize I already had it on. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/5645536/images/OrTI4SBmZ2ZYSFv6ag4f.jpg)

I just bought an Illusion something or other from Victoria's secret. It's super super lightweight. So much so that I have forgotten I'm even wearing a bra. It stays up well (I've yet to find a strapless bra that doesn't slip somewhat) and is very comfortable and breathable.

I will bust out a tube bra, but I don't like it. And I spend half the time hiking it up when nobody's looking. And I don't even have huge boobs!

Most of the time I just ignore shirts that would need a strapless bra, but lately I have seen some cute ones and have seen more and more people wearing shirts or dresses that would require a strapless. I'm surprised people would want to wear them so often, but maybe they are a lot better now.

I was just reading the description and it says "underwire cups are free of lining and cookies" lol Also I have one like this and it usually ends up about 4 inches lower so it looks like I have four boobs and my nipples are exposed.

Wow, I’ve never had that problem with this bra. Maybe you need a smaller band?

Most strapless bras come with straps that you can put on in a variety of ways. JCP has a good selection at a reasonable price.
