How do you store you colored pencils? Thanks to Hobby Lobby's big clearance sales I now have tons of pencils and pens with no idea how to organize them. I was thinking the pencils in the cardboard boxes should come out. They will probably fit in my old Cricut cartridge boxes. I looking for something compact and simple to get to. Any ideas, I haven't come up with anything that I really like so far?
Thanks, Christine

I love this colored pencil case. I don't know if you would consider it simple to get to but I love that it keeps my colors organized.

Ooh, that's a pretty case. I store my pencils in a ziplock bag. The case is much nicer!

That case is gorgeous, @wendiful!
I leave my crayons in the boxes they came in. They are all in a little cubby on my scrap counter. When I am going to a crop, I throw a box or two into a tub with a lid that also holds my pens, markers, paint brushes, spatula, and a few small tools. I open up the tub on my table at the crop, and can see everything in it.

I love this colored pencil case. I don't know if you would consider it simple to get to but I love that it keeps my colors organized. I have 3 of these. I put a different manufacturer in each! Oh and yes, 3 different colors too. I love it. It is portable and keeps the pencils safe.

I LOVE that teal color, but I just ended up ordering this pencil case by the same brand. I like that the inserts are removable and there's room in the back for a book, or maybe sheets of stamped images.

I have that case and love it. It doesn't hold all my pencils, but it holds all I use regularly.

I leave my Prismacolors in their tin; I just unstack the tray inserts and put them out on my work table when I color.
My watercolor pencils are a hot mess, though - several different brands, no organization... If I hadn't melted my credit card on HSN yesterday, I'd be off to buy one of those cases!

So far my Prismacolor pencils are stored in the case that they came in. I never thought I needed to change this method of storing them... I just bought a smaller set of Polychromos pencils to try out. I've already picked up a few more individual pencils and see myself adding to the collection quickly. Of course now I need something new to store all of them in. And here we have the solution!

I was always afraid that the flimsy trays in the original tin would somehow bend and flip all of my pencils out and possibly damage the leads, not to mention create a huge mess. That's why I took them out of there and store them in the case I bought. I still have the tin, though, and I've re-purposed it for other things.

I just bought the turquoise one, but one with less spaces. I really like it. It’s much nicer than the one I was using. Besides, the old one had less spaces and it was maxed out.. I thought about getting one for my pens and markers but the elastic holders are too narrow. I’ll have to check and see if they make any other types.
