I’m already thinking about the comfort level of that elastic waistband. 🤔 I wear what is called a knit jean, to the average person it looks like I'm wearing regular jeans but they feel like a pajama jean. Love them.

OMG
"I have felt divinely guided in ALL of this. I feel JOY. I feel content. I feel heaven cheering me on
I am confident in our direction and this 100% comes from staying close to God through all of it. I pray daily to align my will with His. I know He wants me — AND YOU — to be happy and successful in life. This knowledge ... this comforting and exciting peace of mind ... this massive blessing ... I feel it...
I’m grateful for it. And I want to take this tender, transitional season of my life and give it a big, squeezy hug."
Hear that, guys!? God wants YOU to be happy, like Becky. So, don't worry about the health issues, the tentative job, the debt, the aging parents, the state of the world. Just give life a big squeezy hug, like Becky. Just know it's all divinely inspired (it's great when your God wants exactly what you want, isn't it?).

Upper middle class, white, married to an anesthesiologist making at least half a mil a year. Gee what a surprise she want to give life big squeezy hugs. The rest of us are busy dealing with real people problems. GMAFB with your cluelessness Becky Higgins

This is from her latest post: No, Becky, you didn't adapt your offer to fit what major retailers wanted based on what us, their customers, were buying or not. Nobody freakin' needed another 600-ish cards kit with a crazy amount of duplicates printed on rough, cheap paper. And then you went and told everyone to go digital because you were done scrapbooking, not understanding your audience was primarily made up of scrapbookers. I will add my thoughts based on what I have seen happening here in Australia. No one ever wants to / wanted to pay full price for the products in retail stores. A full-sized core kit here is around $45-$55 depending on the retailer. One of the major retailers offers fairly regular sale events where you can get up to 40% off, so it's always been easy for people to just wait for one of those sales. I totally understand retailers down here wanted to drop the line. Why would you carry a line which people never want to pay full retail price for?

I’m really not too familiar with the project life format but I really liked the 6x8 albums. One color in particular I had fallen in love with! I like to use them as basic photo albums for 4x6 pictures.
Just wanted to chime in and say I was also one of those people who’d never pay full retail for them though (or most things for that matter). 40% off coupons at Michaels are practically in every newsletter so whenever I was shopping in the area, I’d just run in and grab a pack of page protectors. Maybe contributing to the problem? Haha. Sometimes I got 50% or even 60%.
I was pretty sad when Michaels stopped carrying them though!

Project Life is now pretty much pocket scrapbooking since other companies now make their own cards, and many of those cards are cuter and more interesting. Oh, and the corners are square. Of course Michael’s and Joann’s don’t want to carry Becky’s stale cards. It’s not like Becky has put much effort into keeping her PL sets interesting. I guess she’s too busy cultivating that great life.
So does Becky’s post about team shifting mean she’s letting more of her workers go? I wouldn’t be surprised after that work from home idea she had.

Becky posted on Instagram (or Facebook?) about the changes in her life right now and she mentioned that box stores are no longer carrying her products. She used to be in Michaels, Joann, and Hobby Lobby, correct? I wonder if all three terminated their contracts with her?
I never see her products (physical products) used on her social media accounts. I want(ed) the Paige Evans PL kit but could never find it. I think she focused her energy on her app and digital collections and her physical products performed poorly because of it. I could be way off, but her business strategies always baffled me.

I’m not surprised that her business is needing to downsize. People have begged for things from PL for years and she basically said, “Nope. You get earrings and wrapping paper”. If you question anything (like her first class and the fact that she basically lied about it being a beginner class) you are told that “we are Moms doing the best we can”. Even this new class (which I don’t understand why it isn’t free because it is telling people how to use with her product that would basically bring in new customers) there are a few things that she said are supposed to be included but they aren’t ready yet because they are “busy”. Why wouldn’t you wait to sell it until it’s ready? I would not pay for it. The Instagram she made to share PL hasn’t had a new post since October. I’d say that it’s clear she doesn’t care. Heck, she should have scheduled posts on that for at least once a day. Since they gave up the DT strangers are doing the work for her there, she just has to repost! Free and quick!
The self importance on that one runs deep.

It is like cutting through butter. Absolutely fabulous! WTF? I use the cheapest paper possible (because I hope it will decompose more quickly in the landfill) and it "cuts like butter" too. What is the big deal w/stone wrap other than it's made from plastic and costs a lot more than other wraps.

Liverpool makes some great pull on jeans. They're jeans with an elastic waist. I got my first pair from Stitch Fix which was more of a jegging material. But I got a pair from Amazon that are amazing...I'm even wearing them now. Had them 2-3 years and they still stretch well and fit just like skinny jeans.

The burned grilled cheese sandwich moment. Oh my. Who "instinctually" takes a photo of a homemade sandwich? And styles all the crumbs away? And ignores a perfectly good word like instinctively, in favour of another used in the wrong context? (Sorry. Vocabulary police moment).

And ignores a perfectly good word like instinctively, in favour of another used in the wrong context? (Sorry. Vocabulary police moment). Nope, no need to apologise. She is using 'instinctually' wrong here and it's ok to point it out. Becky thinks she's a big girl with big fancy words, especially now that she has a podcast, but she isn't. And it shows. Then again, this is the physician's daughter who married a physician and didn't find out about blood stains and hydrogen peroxide until recently we're talking about so... The light bulb doesn't glow bright with this one.
As always, Becky needs to show off her imperfect life in the most perfect manner. She will never be able to quit those tendencies. She can go on and on about multitasking being bad and her "today's lesson" moments but, really, she has bad habits, period. I guess the Prophet-ordained social media detox cleanse she raved about in October did not break her bad phone-checking habits after all. Didn't see that one coming...

Also, who writes a 7 paragraph instagram caption about a burnt sandwich?
And... good catch with the styled crumbs out of the photo... when she says "burnt but otherwise perfect sandwiches" she means "burnt AND cold after sitting for 10 minutes while I got the perfectly stylized instagram shot, but otherwise perfect." *eyeroll*

"burnt AND cold after sitting for 10 minutes while I got the perfectly stylized instagram shot, but otherwise perfect." Perhaps the family science degree covered how to make crumb-free sandwiches. It would seem an important skill, that us lesser people just don't have.

A few years ago (6 or 7, maybe? It's been awhile) Becky posted a whole video about her getting her hair cut. She was in her own house and recorded a pretty long video of her hair cut, plus a couple of different ways to style it. The video screamed pretentious and fake to me (or as my kids would say, "cringey").
I knew then that Becky lives in a little bubble that I will never understand.

Usually I would refrain from sharing negative thoughts or comments about a person but this time I'm overruling myself. Burnt toast, seriously? A burnt toasted sandwich is a life-changing catalyst? Oh, to live a life of such privilege that a toasted sandwich is a tipping point. I've had the most difficult and challenging year of my life, I think I would be jumping for joy if a burnt sandwich was all that I had to deal with or overcome. Good grief.

"I have felt divinely guided in ALL of this. I feel JOY. I feel content. I feel heaven cheering me on I am confident in our direction and this 100% comes from staying close to God through all of it. I pray daily to align my will with His. I know He wants me — AND YOU — to be happy and successful in life. This knowledge ... this comforting and exciting peace of mind ... this massive blessing ... I feel it... I’m grateful for it. And I want to take this tender, transitional season of my life and give it a big, squeezy hug." Interesting. I feel much more content no longer following her religion. I studied church history (nothing anti) and felt factually guided to not believe the church is true.
I don't need a man to get me to heaven. Well, I don't believe in heaven. I can drink coffee, tea, and alcohol if I choose. I don't have to wear weird "religious" garments (that have gotten much shorter over the years). If I have a child come out as gay, I don't have to encourage them to remain celibate for life so they can go to the highest degree of heaven. I don't have to keep up with the ever changing doctrine. I don't have to subject my child at the age of 12 to a bishop's interview (a lay person) who asks them if they masturbate or does things with their boyfriend or girlfriend. None of what they do will be put on a permanent record. Of COURSE I can be in the room with them. That is if I don't have enough faith in the church and our bishop. I can put my family first before church. My sons won't be put on a pedestal that now at the age of 11 they can have the priesthood (ever changing doctrine). Yep, that's right they get it in elementary school! I don't have to pay 10% of my income to get to heaven.
I was extremely miserable when I was doing everything I was supposed to do because I didn't fit the perfect Mormon mold. My life is still crappy, but I can't even imagine wasting 3 hours 2 hours (NEW CHANGE!) every week pushing my special needs child to conform with the rest of the kids and feeling like total shit and drained every single Sunday.
I LOVE LOVE LOVE having time to waste and do as I want. Not a WWJD? Not what will get me to heaven? It's now how do I plan my day so I'm productive, get down time, and do things I love?
I love the majority of the members who are NOT in higher leadership positions, but I'm seriously so blessed to be free of many constraints.
p.s. I hate the word tender. Pair it with mercies and I get all twitchy and stabby.

refugeepea Glad you feel better and liberated now. Did you hear of the excellent Mormon history podcast called Naked Mormonism by Bryce Blankenagel? As someone who has never been in the Church of LDS, it's sometimes too dense for me to even comprehend what's going in certain episodes on but it's clearly extremely well researched and detailed.
As for Becky, she keeps on confirming she's off it and has no clue what the market is like: the quickest growing group are the Nones so injecting religious messaging is actually exactly the wrong move. To diversify and grow her public, she should be doing the opposite: keep her proselytising mouth shut and focus on saving her dying business. Instead, she's confusing her "mission" and her business, thinking Project Life is her way to spread the LDS message and convert. Don't get me started on how insulting it is to tell people you *know* "God" (AKA whichever deity you believe in) wants them to be happy. Just no. Also, how presumptuous is it for a human to claim they know what God wants? Le sigh. So much cognitive dissonance. My atheism is flairing up.
Becky is free to turn her brand into a Mormon/Christian business but I'm just as free to roll my eyes and be happy (without a god/dess wanting it) to never purchase a single thing from her ever again. Capitalism, amirite?
