The cost of the in-app purchases is so small if Becky Higgins was actually promoting her product in an authentic way, she wouldn't have to talk to us about costs. If she would have kept a design team for the app, that would be great promotion. The issue is she's so into promoting all these affiliate links and the ridiculous podcast (has she ever had anyone outside her bubble on) that she has lost all credibility. She just said this "documenting day" Q&A is so popular that she is loving the response...DUH!!! She claims to be the "documenting guru" so it shouldn't be a surprised that people are asking about documenting. We don't look to Becky Higgins for life coaching, but she doesn't get that.

Omg! Shocked, absolutely shocked that people might want pocket page protectors, albums, they loved documenting day(umm...day in the life???), android users would want updates in time with the the iPhone users, and yes, people would probably be willing to pay more money for the content on the app!! Shocked I tell ya!! Ya, once again I will say she has hopped on the "documenting", FFS, scrapbooking bandwagon cause the pandemic has caused people to want document this time in history and she sees an opportunity to make cash! Well guess what Becky? We've always been here, cash in hand, willing to give it to you if you would have just listened to your customer base instead of just doing what you thought WE should be doing. Now, I won't buy anything with your name on it, except if comes from Tuesday morning at an extremely reduced price. Heck, if I was in a bathroom stall next to you and you asked for TP, I wouldn't spare a square!!!

She mentioned a couple of dats ago that there will be new “editorial” templates. These are meant more for long journaling and storytelling. They will only have spots for 1-3 photos. She said they are more modern.

I also don’t understand why she just doesn’t charge for the app like she used too. I paid for it.

One of the PL FB groups posted this response from Wendy about Android: "In all honesty, I don't know. We are still in the development phase with iOS and even after we release it there are always fixes. Being a small company to begin with and having been recently downsized you can imagine that having a developer on retainer isn't inexpensive. Please be assured that we want to give everyone the ability to use the app. We are trying to make adjustments so we can get android caught up. "

Sell what people want to buy and use that with your influencer money to pay for a developer that you can keep on staff. People are going to keep leaving if they can't use your product.

No. 3 — After five years of running the app and incurring huge expenses to make it all possible, it is very necessary for us to have a price increase on many of the in-app purchases (templates, kits, fonts, etc.). This will be happening with the 3.0 update in June. What the Heck? Okay so I'm no game developer, but I do watch a lot of videos on app and game dev, and from every one of them I've seen That's Not How Development Works. The major difficulty in doing app/game development is the bulk of your expenses are up front, before you have any income stream. Once the product launches, there's an initial buy-in, hopefully a curve up, then the remainder is 'long tail', or passive income. Increasing your prices on stuff that's already made - kits, fonts, templates - is bonkers. Absolutely bonkers-level-stupid. In-app purchases / DLC (down-loadable-content) are supposed to cover any incidental development costs incurred during the long tail period. Once again Becky proves she has 0% business acumen.

Why on earth doesn't she just release one or two new kits LIKE CUSTOMERS HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR and let the sales of that cover her costs. People are done with the existing kits and want fresh content. But it's just too hard for her to do that for her customers. They should just be grateful she hasn't shut the app down because it's SO EXPENSIVE.

I had the same thought as well, but then I realized that she probably stopped adding new kits because she would have to pay a designer to design them. And my guess is that she either can’t do that or actively doesn’t want to do that.

I love how she said in her stories that she’s “not a trend follower because she’s a trend SETTER.” 😂😂😂

I admit I have too many notebooks, they're composition style and I have too many because they're all beautiful and I'm weak for stationery. However, they were all $3-4 at TJ Maxx, and the pages don't have any text on them or any stories behind why they were made. I don't need a story behind every single product I buy... sometimes I just want something to write in. I'm going to need you to be more intentional then. It's exhausting, but then you have the perfect product to go with your intentionality.

Why on earth doesn't she just release one or two new kits LIKE CUSTOMERS HAVE BEEN BEGGING FOR and let the sales of that cover her costs. That would be the normal, sensible human choice. If you need a sudden cash influx, trim your prices or do a bundle sale. Use that infusion to kickstart more DLC. Or even a pre-sale/pre-order, as much as I loathe them, they do work. And a module for an existing app should be easy to add-in; no actual new features, just +content. One time expense for art asset/font/layout prep. But clearly that's not "InTeNtIoNaL" enough.

Becky has been promoting all sorts of in-app kits in her Stories saying get them before the prices change. She clearly knows how to promote her products when she wants too. Not to beat a dead horse, but it’s so bizarre that she chooses not to promote her products normally.

I love how she said in her stories that she’s “not a trend follower because she’s a trend SETTER.” 😂😂😂 Yeah, no. This is really the type of thing someone else should say about you and NOT something you say about yourself. BH reminds me of a woman I met at a scrap retreat house earlier this year. She has mastered the skill of bragging in the form of telling you how other people in her life think she is so awesome at life/work/church. She made what should have been a fun weekend very unpleasant.

She made what should have been a fun weekend very unpleasant. I was at a weekend crop years ago where a woman bragged about so many things. Over the top kind of things. My friend and I kept a tally of how many brags there were during different time periods. We had bets to see who would get the closest. I might have even asked a few questions so that I would win. It helped.

I just don’t get it. Increase app prices for old content?
Now I’ve never developed an app, but I would think that once you have the framework, it would be easy to add more in app purchases. So just add new kits, right?

Such a money grab. Which would be fine, if she would give customers what we want. She could buy artwork from places like Creative Market and put new collections together if she had an ounce of talent. Not to mention, working with designers isn't really all that expensive. Sorry I'm salty today but she annoys me. I keep trying to talk my bf into making me a new scrappy app so we could all ditch her for good. So far no luck but I'll keep trying.

I had to take a break. We had a baby in our family with Covid. He is on the mend and getting stronger. I am so tired and stressed out as many of us are on here but when I read that Becky is a trend "setter" My tired brain read it that Becky thinks she is an- Irish Setter! ROFL! Thank you sleepingbooty for a Ricky Martin video, lol.

I recently downloaded the app. It’s great for printing multiple photos on one 4 x 6 piece of photo paper. It works great. I’d have been happy to pay a few bucks for it.
