@sean&marysmommy I would print out cards. You can get a nice printer and a printer subscription and it would be cheaper than doing a kit. If you don't like it then you are not out of anything. SnapClickSupply carries all the major AC artists and nice kits to make Project Life cards with- www.snapclicksupply.com/ Wednesday they have $1 deals. That way if you get bored or find PL is not suited for you then you won't be locked into a kit club or purchasing a core kit that you would be stuck with.

My feeling is that this is her families primary income and it's falling fast. I highly doubt that. Her husband is an anesthesiologist and that is literally the highest paid type of doctor. The average annual pay of an anesthesiologist is $365,000 and, considering he’s been at it awhile, I wouldn’t be surprised if he makes more than that.

Thought some on this thread might find the "influencer meltdown" story interesting: "Of course, famous people—from Hollywood to the business world to journalism—arguably expose themselves to this scrutiny in an era where building a “brand” means revealing a slew of personal details. This is particularly true of a new breed of online “influencers,” who have built massive followings and fanbases—and lucrative businesses for themselves—by creating a feeling of personal connection with fans. It’s perhaps unsurprising that those fans, and the media outlets that helped build that fame, feel entitled to comment on those celebrities’ egos or eccentricities." qz.com/quartzy/1530137/we-can-do-better-than-ogling-brandon-truaxes-decline-and-death/and from one of the linked pieces above: "Transparency for a CEO is so refreshing! I truly appreciate Brandon’s vibe and I would love to see more CEOs be real people and not corporate automatons who relish the pageantry of managem— Please, I will stop you right there. Transparency in a CEO is refreshing only if that CEO is willing to listen to criticism and receive that criticism with grace, dignity, and maturity. Please advise.... A brand is not a person; it is a collection of ideas and bullet points brainstormed by a group of people in a conference room, perhaps with a whiteboard, and gathered into a deck for presentation. A brand would love it very much if you thought they were a person, because it’s less depressing to buy something from a source with some personality. Much like Thinx, another buzzy startup with a spectacularly disastrous leader,"

In her stories she reminds us she’s “working from home” and killing it with productivity, as she makes her sons bed.
Dude I don’t even work and I don’t make beds.

refugeepea I have never been a Mormon. I am doing photo books too. It's just not Mormon's who are not part of her fan base and not scrapbooking any more. I think that Becky was part of the reason that Project Life is slowly fading. I think a lot of us started doing PL and then realized putting our photos in a book was even easier. You can still add some journaling and embellishments too. I know that was my line of thinking. I know I can't be the only one. Essentially, she gave us an easy idea and made it popular. We made it even easier. Artists evolve. Becky is not an artist and doesn't know how to evolve. She likes to sell herself. I don't consider myself an artist either. I have to use a sketch or look at a completed page before I start my own. I switched to divided sheet protectors for my family albums because we don't do much. I didn't feel like documenting a whole page for the little things. A page with all the little things works better for me. I like to be crafty, but not necessarily reinvent the wheel. That's why I was initially happy with the core kits. I quickly realized they were ginormous due to the large amount of photos I use vs journal cards. I have two photo boxes full of them. I was hopeful she'd continue to produce them on a smaller scale. The rounded corners didn't even bother me.
I do get your point about evolving. I was strictly an 8.5x11 scrapper for several years, then switched 2012-present to the 12x12 Project Life Albums. I do have Holiday/Event/Celebration albums I still do in 8.5x11. They are where I do more traditional pages. Since my life continues to be dull, I think I'll switch back to 8.5x11 or 6x8 when I've used up those items. I'm also very cheap.

I think that may have been Teresa Collins' husband before he got cancer and passed away...or that he started working for her company because it was something he could do while fighting cancer as he could no longer practice medicine.

Maybe, I am thinking of her Father? I did go back and read her husband's profile on her site and he was part time for awhile but has since gone back full time. Girls help me- doesn't she have her Father, Brother & Husband help her run her business?
Speaking of Theresa Collin's and her sweet late husband. I will never forget when her husband passed away and I sent her a condolence message and she sent me a thank you reply and told me she hoped to see me on her cruise. I will never forget that one. I know grief makes you do the craziest thing. I am the poster child for that. That one was over the top crazy. If I remember right she went on the cruise a week later! You know what was even more weird? I didn't know about a cruise, lol. It was like a promotion thank you reply.
I cleaned my bedroom today and washed my sheets. Can I have some promotion social influencer money too? lol. Girls if we cleaned our bedrooms this weekend or made our bed we should post it on Instagram and make some money.

amayalylac That was very kind of you to send Theresa Collins your condolences, and her reply was really tacky. She's another one I can't follow anymore, just her face annoys me lol.
I had to unsubscribe from Becky's Instagram, etc, its too much. Hearing that the big box stores wanted to keep working with her if she changed a few things but she refused, really made me lose so much respect for her and see her as someone who didn't so much build this great business as get lucky. Terrible because I love PL. I just don't know how she can throw her business away like that. What about her employees? She didn't seem to consider them in all this.

Why assume something so mean and uncharitable? It was probably just a boiler plate reply to people who sent messages. I don't see anything wrong with going on her cruise anyway. Some people want to stay busy or be distracted. Not to mention the probable legal and financial penalties for cancelling.

I say this as someone who grew up in a family business and have always been involved in them. Imagine if a retail store's owner's wife had died, and his thank you cards for those who sent flowers or donations said "Thank you for the flowers, and remember that all TVs are 10% off this week at Big Ed's TV barn!". It's akin to doing that.

So I don’t PL scrapbook (probably will try in future but it’s not for current projects), but, I like using her 6x8 albums and mainly the 2 pocket page protectors for the old prints that I probably won’t scrap. I just like them in the binder format like that and the albums I got are really pretty for display (pricey, but at least I don’t need a ton).
I needed some more protectors but I noticed that design 2 is no longer on her website and I just bought the last 3 from scrapbook.com. Is 6x8 going out!?

Well we can always start a Teresa Collins thread because there is definitely snark material on her. She was remarried less than 6 months after Ty’s passing. But the freckled fox beat her, Emily was remarried less than 84 days later. There’s a whole subreddit about it. These Mormon women aren’t playing around, they have new husbands lined up before the dead one is even cold. So Teresa going on a cruise and advertising it, it doesn’t cast her in a kind light.

I think critiquing Teresa Collins on her social media presence or her business decisions is fine. However, I also think we never truly know what's in the heart of another person and judging someone because we believe they got married too fast is unnecessary. It doesn't affect anyone other than her family, so why should we care? I realize this is on a thread critiquing Becky so it may come across as hypocritical, but I feel the same way about Becky. Criticize her business decisions and excessive social media posting all you want (and boy is there a lot to criticize), because those things affect us as consumers, but being critical about who she marries (or her family relationships) is off the table, at least until they start to affect her business. I realize I may get some push back on this and that's okay. I'm not saying we need to be all sunshine and roses here, because heavens knows I enjoy a good 2Peas roast, but I think being critical on that aspect of Teresa's life is unkind and, even more, unnecessary. YMMV.

I get what you're saying about respecting people's private lives, but a lot of us are already thinking the same thing about the quickie marriage even if we haven't posted those thoughts. Her life, her circus. One day I will look at women moving on with lighting speed and I will be mature enough not to shake my head and think, damn girl really?! Today is not that day. Tomorrow not looking good either.

chances I am not being mean or uncharitable. Like I said I am the poster child of doing crazy and wish I could take back some things because of grief. I have lost two children a decade apart. It was not a blanket response. It was a personal e-mail. I have been kind to TC for years. Gave her advice on things over the years. We both had similar childhoods so we are both scrappers. I don't mean that in the scrapbooking terminology. I would never ever judge her for what she finds as security. Since both of us cherish it and understand what it is like to fight for it. I thought her e-mail reply was so odd. I thought her doctor must have gave her some meds to cope with grief and she wasn't thinking straight. I don't remember which forum the girls were talking about her going on the cruise. I thought "So she went on the cruise? So what." Then I guess she went to a trade show right afterward. Then she got married quickly. The scrapping world went insane over that. Now, she's not a star anymore. People just downright hate her. Sorry I can't help but keep thinking of TC's cruise thing with all this drama about Becky Higgins. Least TC had an excuse- grief. I always give her a pass. Plus, I have a soft spot for her. So what if she wants to get married again. Teresa & I have seen poverty and terrible, terrible abuse. That is her security thing. Mine is to be recluse. Least Teresa & I might raise a side eye for our weird personal lifestyles, but we are still alive. I have buried way too many friends, witnessed many of my beautiful friends go into prostitution or spiral into drugs. Yes, it was odd. No, I can't stop thinking about that every time I hear about a scrapbooking star behaving badly. Teresa made some serious mistakes that she got nailed to the cross for. Some she did deserve because her personal life did effect her business decisions. I have taken her to task on it too. I still like her. She did deserve the snark. You can't host expensive classes and then not teach them, for example. People get mad about those things and want their hard earn money back! Becky on the other hand I guess I am done being charitable. Going on your IG running down vendors at Creativation. Sorry, there is no excuse. Going on and on and on about the big box stores and her values. Good for her. She has values. She also is BECKY HIGGINS. She can still get contracts at big box stores. She goes on her IG and tearing down those same big box stores. Hosting classes and when they don't turn out like she promised uses the Mom excuse. She wants to put a nail in her brand coffin. I will just say it. I can't get on board with a woman whose tag line is "Cultivate a Good Life" when she doesn't seem to appreciate it. Girls you need to remind me who Emily is. I forgot which scrap star is Emily. Sorry about yesterdays terrible formatting on my replies. I think ProBoards were working on their servers last night when I was posting.

I can't comment on Mormon culture much. Some of my favourite podcasters are ex-Mormons (and most still live in Utah) but they're all male, meaning I have a slanted view of how everyday things are (especially in a culture that's still very much girls vs boys). However, when taking into account the early age of marriage (even earlier for people TC's age, I'm guessing), the pronounced patriarchal hierarchy (and submission of women to their husbands) as well as the ratio imbalance between Mormon men and women, one can't help but think that Mormon women might feel an incredible amount of pressure to marry when "on the market." I'm not excusing anyone or saying it isn't weird (it is: there is just no time to grieve, reorganise your life and ask yourself what you truly want moving forward) but I can see how it's an expression of an insular microculture.
I'm all for someone starting a TC thread. There's so much gossip (and I never caught up with everything). I also have no clue what she was presenting at Creativation earlier this month.

Emily who?

Emily who? Emily Myers Carmack. She is known as the Freckled Fox on Instagram. She is a certifiable hot mess express - 6 kids under 7 (I believe) and was the victim of a 'peaceful at home shooting' that involve her new husband accidentally shooting her in the knee while her kids were home to witness. Her husband then went on Instagram explaining why he did not and would not be apologizing EVER for it. I had to quit following her. Im all for drama but hers was just too much.

These Mormon women aren’t playing around, they have new husbands lined up before the dead one is even cold. So Teresa going on a cruise and advertising it, it doesn’t cast her in a kind light. I get that it happens more in Mormon culture, but It truly depends on the woman. My BIL's mother died of cancer. His father was married within a year. His new wife had been a widow for decades. She was a young mother when she became a widow.
She is a certifiable hot mess express - 6 kids under 7 (I believe) and was the victim of a 'peaceful at home shooting' that involve her new husband accidentally shooting her in the knee while her kids were home to witness. I don't understand not apologizing. I forgot about that blog. I remember her having very cute kids and thinking her hair tutorials were pointless to try with my shoulder length hair that is very fine.

Im all for drama but hers was just too much. r/blogsnark usually has an active current thread on her if you want to semi-follow the FF madness (fresh weekly threads that end up in 600+ comments). I couldn't keep up with ALL the drama either. Too much for me. The cruise coverage threads have been funny although I've only glanced at them. This week's thread was just started.
