As a consumer, I will never purchase anything from My Sweet Petunia based solely on their actions over the stamp platform. I feel like that needs to be said "out loud."
Who's with me?

I hear ya. I have the stampoholic and love it and the TH platform. No way does she get my money. I can't believe TH has to stop selling. What about the stamping up one? Is she going after them. The wrmk is way different now so I can't see her going after them

Yep. I have an original very badly cracked Misti and a TH Stamp platform. It pains me to say that I prefer the Misti, but there is no way on this earth that I will give that woman any more business. I'll find a way to love my TH Stamp platform.

I'm in your boat. I can't believe I ever owned any of them!! I had the original and mini, then the Stamp-a-Holic came out with turquoise and were cheaper. (And I'd heard some uncool things about the owner of MSP) So I sold my pink ones and got the Stamp-a-holic. Turquoise/aqua is my favorite color. Fast forward to the TH one coming out last year, LOVE it so I sold my reg. size SAH (at least I think I did, I still have the mini). Then Tim came out with the Travel size this year. It's my favorite and the perfect size!! I love it so much that I ordered a back-up last night after seeing the unfortunate news. To me the TH one is nothing like the Misti!!! Other than the fact that the end results are the same. TH has a removable plate, metal hinge and 2 open sides so any size paper can be used!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I have a seconde gen MISTI and I love it. However, I bought it before mysweetpetunia went all MISTI Nazi on everyone. As someone said in another thread, I'd put the stamps on my butt and stamp before I'd ever give her another penny.
I am all for her protecting her rights but she could have been so much more professional. She is a vile human being who uses her religion as a weapon.

I'm nervous with the 'working together in the future' statement. It makes me wonder if a new version is going to come about but that MSP will get a cut of all sales. If so, then I won't buy another one because I don't want to support her. She bullies her customers...she is not the type of person I want to see succeed in life.

I’m curious where are all these vile things she has said. I’d like to see it for myself. I do have the misti and love it. I’m neutral about the person until I can actually see for myself the things she said first hand and not that has been discussed here so frequently. I can’t say I’m one of those rabid fans. I’m neutral right now. I like the too. I I use my misti all the time but when it breaks I have the Tim holtz version that I only used 2 times. I didn’t like it so much as the plate would come out of the hinge when I tried to stamp. I’m sure there is a learning curve to it but I decided to use my misti until it worked no more. My misti is my most used tool aside from my scissors in my craft room.

Agreed. I just saw that Tonic will stop selling their platform in North America.
I will never purchase anything associated with that awful woman, even if it's made by Tonic.
In my opinion, since she is so litigious.

My husband made me one and she went bat crap crazy. Threatened to sue me take my house and would make sure God would severly punish me. When I told her it looked nothing like hers she persisted in making demands. Told me to destroy it and post pictures of it…I told her to get bent and blocked her…I am still living in my house by the way. She did it to a lot of people. I would not buy a pink thing if it were the only one left on earth.
She harrassed anyone who dared make a DIY stamp postitioner. See this post: 2peasrefugees.boards.net/post/489517

jstblondie, I'll give you my personal experience with My Sweet Petunia. I ordered directly from her when she was just starting out. Mine is not the "made by hand" version but the next one. I ordered it in November (I think), it was a backorder/pre-order situation and I received it in January. When I received it, it looked fine. But within 3-4 weeks of using it, the top lid began to show major cracks. I contacted the Sweet one and let's say she was less than sweet about my problem, first accusing me of mishandling it and not using the right cleaners on it. I did neither. I bought it and the cleaners directly from her so........ Anyway, she reluctantly agreed to send me a replacement but said this would be the last replacement I would ever get from her. And this was after others had the same problem with theirs, so she knew she had a manufacturing or design flaw on her end. There was nothing sweet or gracious about her handling of my problem, a problem well known to her. Instead she berated me, the customer, and acted as if I was trying to take money out of her pocket. At that point, I decided she would never get another penny from me. As of today, I have/will soon have 3 full size and 3 travel size Tim Holtz stamp platforms. I have gotten paint, ink and glue on those things and they clean up beautifully. They are much sturdier than the other brand and I love the open sides for stamping on larger pieces of paper.

I had been saving for a MISTI. After reading her posts here, though, and how she treated customers who had MISTIs that cracked, I walked on past them at conventions. It was hard to wait for the Tonic/Tim Holtz version, but I am glad I did. It works great for me, and I love it. I have two of them. One to use and one to share, but sometimes a 2nd one can come in handy.
I thought another company bought the rights to the MISTI. Was it Hampton Arts? So how can Tonic have a business relationship with them, unless they bought out Hampton Arts (or whoever it was that partnered with MSP)?
I think a lot of us have questions about the announcement, and what it means for the futue.
Regardless of what happens, though, I'm glad I bought my TH stamp platforms when I did.

I'm doing really well on my no spend July. Made it 19 days, no problem. After reading about the settlement it kept niggling at me that I should get a spare while I still could, just in case something happened to my beloved THSP. I purchased a spare from Amazon this morning. Now back to no-spend.

I would never buy from her either. I went with the WRMK Precision Press. It works fine for what I need it for. I don’t like how the statement from Tonic makes it sound like they’re working with that bitter flower. I am willing to stop purchasing from Tonic just to keep my money out of her greedy clutches.

I have three HOMEMADE stamp platforms that I made myself. Using 8x10 acrylic sheets I already had to make clear album covers and the mini WRMK magnetic cutting mat. I bought more cutting mats and made TWO more for myself and 2 for friends. I adore my homemade versions and would never buy from my bitter petunia. I WOULD have bought Tim's if I hadn't already made several and love them. The only one I hated missing out on is the WRMK Precision Press Plus, the one with the typeset plate. I really really wanted that one but it disappeared before I had the money. I have several sets of the Martha Stewart alphabets that fit the typeset plate. I would up buying some of the MS base plates and finagled a stamp press to use them!
And by the way, I have a contact negative print frame somewhere in a box and that was the FIRST thing I thought of the first time I saw the misty. I started to go find it because I think it would have worked great! Besides, it looks more like the misty than Tim's stamp press! They should sue HER!

Hampton Arts merely copied her design while it was still pending it's patent. It had just shown up (within weeks of the patent being granted) at Michael's and was almost immediately pulled from the shelves and not allowed to be sold any longer. Not sure where you heard that from, but it is wrong information.

i haven't read any of the replies, so excuse me if i put my foot in it somehow... i'm not a stamper. don't make cards and don't use many stamps in my scrapping. however, i do occasionally stamp and i seriously suck at it, so i bought the TH travel platform and am waiting on it to arrive. i have only seen her posts on this board, not on any other board or FB group or anything else; based on those posts here, there is no way in freakin hell i would ever give that cow a penny. so that's my 2 cents

Well I just ordered the TH travel size from Amazon. I have the regular size and love it.
I also have a pink thing. I bought it before the big brouhaha, but I had my own little go around with her and her company over the magnets that came with it. While the stamping press was received okay, the magnets were broken. I contacted them about obtaining replacements and was informed that the only way the magnets could have been broken was through extreme abuse by the user. Something along the line that mishandling by the user was not their responsibility......Yada, yada,yada.....another words “too bad, go away”. ( I can’t remember the exact wording). I ended up buying generic magnets from Amazon, I refused to buy them from her.
It was within a few weeks of that episode when I started reading about all the problems with the cracking tops. I was afraid to use mine, so I just put it away and went back to stamping blocks. I bought the TH full size platform not long after it came out. I ended up liking it so much better than the other one, that the pink one has just been sitting around gathering dust ever since. I should sell it to one of her groupies. LOL.

I merely incorporate basic stamping into scrapbooking, so I am not a stamper, cardmarker, art journaler, mixed media artist, etc. Despite having no use for a stamp platform, I will never buy from this company & will encourage others not to based on its online reputation.

She's a total bitch and I would never buy a MISTI because of her horrible personality. It's because of her that I started looking at the TH version. And I love spreading the word to folks in the crafting community around here who aren't aware of how rabid she is...
