I’m not out a ton of money on the WRMK because I bought them on sale or with coupons. They may last like my cracked Misti. I used it for two years after the lid developed cracks and finally gave it away. Last I heard it was still working. It’s just kind of surprising that a big company like that wouldn’t replace even when I sent them pictures. They actually stated that they didn’t have an in inventory that didn’t have what they called “mold scratches.” I shared the order with a friend and all her lids are also cracked. Maybe they won’t sell many of these since the market is kind of saturated. I’m certainly not seeing the uproar that the cracked Mistis brought on. I guess I’m learning not to jump on something new before they work out the kinks.

I’m so,glad I ordered the THSP I hesitated before because I had the Misti. Tim’s works so much better I used it today and was amazed at the difference in the two. I usually have to stamp and restamp with the Misti and with Tim’s it was one stamp and it was perfect. Ooh. This is interesting. I haven't considered the TH because I have the Misti. But if it stamps better, that might be worth it. |

I was at Hobby Lobby tonight and the Tonic Platform is still on the shelves. Tim's line is 30% off this week. I can't remember if Tim's names on the packaging but you might be able to get it for 30%. If not use your 40% coupon.  |

The Hobby Lobby near me only had the protective covers. Actuallly I don’t remember ever seeing the platforms there but I haven’t been there in a month or so. Maybe they’re sold,out.

I decided to purchase the travel platform before they disappeared and I regretted not getting one. I haven't stamped in a long time and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the platform. It's so sturdy and definitely feels like a tool. It stamps wonderfully and I love the way that the lid comes off and flips to accommodate clear and cling rubber stamps. I've been playing around with it and have made like 6 cards (more than I have in years) I do think I'd like another magnet or 2 but other than that I'm really happy I picked it up!

I took the Travel sized to a crop this weekend and it was perfect for limited area on the table. I think I still prefer the regular sized one for home use though. I've been calling them Tim and Timmy (regular and travel, respectively).  |

I had $30 left on my HL gift card. My store had two. I have the WRMK precision press, but always like options. So Tiny Tim came home with me. I’ll be giving it a work out with the TH Halloween stamps I purchased last week.

I decided to order TH’s stamp thing. I’m not a big stamper, I was foolish and bought the huge MISTI and rarely use it. Thankfully, a friend said she’d buy it. Now I have to go try Tim’s out since so many here are saying it’s better!

I've been calling them Tim and Timmy (regular and travel, respectively). haha!! I cannot read that name without hearing it in my head like Timmy from South Park... I bought the travel one, but it's still in the packaging on my table. I will definitely be breaking it out and using it this weekend (4-day retreat at a hotel). I've never felt very confident in my stamping, so this will hopefully help that! eta: I don't name my tools, but I think for me, Tiny Tim would have to be my Tiny Attacher... LOVE that thing so much I bought another one when I lost my first one (it's probably somewhere in my craft room, but it's 'lost to me' for now, anyway.) |

I loooooovvvvve my Stamparatus. I wasn't sure I would because I got the Tim Holtz one first, and it just didn't work for me - I suspect I got one of the bad ones. But I figured I'd give the Stamparatus a try and I'm so glad I did! Having 2 lids is wonderful. I made some cards using Altenew's layering stamps last month, and was able to have 4 stamps on the lids, and just alternated stamping with them to create the 4-layered rose on a whole bunch of cards. It worked beautifully. I've had no problems stamping with it. Removing the lid and moving it up or down a notch makes it great for other techniques, too. I did buy a magnetic pad for it from Stamp-N-Storage - I was buying something from there anyway and saw that they offered this magnetic pad and thought it looked really cool. It works beautifully as well, but it's not necessary, just something nice to have. I like that the Stamparatus comes with 2 large magnet bars, too, instead of the little round ones. I didn't expect to like it as much as I do, that's for sure. It's my go-to platform, better than my MISTI, and of course, much better than the TH platform that I personally have (I know other people's TH platforms work fine, mine just doesn't). |

When I have a bit more time I'm going to play around with it and try to figure out a way to make it work - perhaps even using the magnetic pad I bought will help, I just haven't tried it yet. I haven't tried it with red rubber cling, either, only with photopolymer. I'll make it work. I would have called Tonic and exchanged it but I'm in Canada, and had ordered it to my MIL's condo in Florida several months before my vacation, so there was such a time delay and then I figured the shipping & hassle from dealing with them from Canada wouldn't be worth it. I'll make it work somehow, though. The Stamparatus was just easy for me, luckily. I know some of the first demos to get it had troubles with stamping in the corners, but from what I understand the more you use it the better it works. I guess they had to "break it in" or something, idk. I'm fine with having several platforms, too. Sometimes I work on a bunch of projects at once, or even just a whole lot of layering stamps for one card. I don't regret any of my platform purchases (I have the MISTI, too). Even though the owner of MSP is nasty, the tool still helped me a lot for a long time. But yeah, I have bought many a tool over the past 20 years that just didn't work as advertised. I really want the WRMK's typewriter but just can't buy it because of the reviews  |

marg, try using your Tonic platform on a sturdier surface and see if it makes a difference. I have three tables in my scrap room. One is wood, the other two are plastic. My Tonic platforms work great on the solid wood table, not so well on the plastic ones.
If you are already using it on a hard, wood surface, then I don't know what is wrong. Maybe some were defective.
I have two of the regular sized Tonic/Tim Holtz platforms, and one travel sized. They all work great on the wood table. I don't stamp at all on the plastic tables anymore.
My regular sized ones were both from the earliest platforms released in the U.S., but they were from different online stores. Considering the problems some people have had, I thought one of them might be defective, but they both work fine as long as I have them on the right table.

It was odd to see TH at Creativation using blocks again. I wonder if the original idea that Tonic and Misti were going to collaborate has fallen by the wayside. I really wonder if TH and Tonic would collaborate again after the Tonic Misti statement. He didn’t do anything with Tonic at Creativation. I didn’t see any of their products on display in his space but maybe I didn’t look/listen closely enough. Seemed like he was all Ranger this year. Nothing is being mentioned on SCS about positioners now that Lydia is deep with Misti.

There was a video posted about a new ruler MSP is selling. Was that the owner in the video demonstrating?
It makes sense if it was because she seemed put out to so the demo and the video. In my opinion of course

I watched the new ruler video and it was kind of painful. For one, you're right-she didn't seem very enthusiastic about it but maybe that's her personality. Also, she had to cut over and over and over so many times I can't see this ruler surviving long. Seems like it would get chips and snags on it pretty quickly. And lastly, I can do the exact same things on a standard quilting ruler, AND there are already quilt rulers on the market with cutting guides like that. They're made for rotary cutters so they don't have as much of a risk of getting all boogered up. When I'm using a craft knife I prefer a ruler with a metal guide.
