It was odd to see TH at Creativation using blocks again. I wonder if the original idea that Tonic and Misti were going to collaborate has fallen by the wayside. I really wonder if TH and Tonic would collaborate again after the Tonic Misti statement. He didn’t do anything with Tonic at Creativation. I didn’t see any of their products on display in his space but maybe I didn’t look/listen closely enough. Seemed like he was all Ranger this year. Nothing is being mentioned on SCS about positioners now that Lydia is deep with Misti. His tools are all made by tonic. So scissors, craft pick, trimmer...all tonic. He also used the stamp platform on one of his FB lives demonstrating new stamps coming out. It could just be that he doesn't have any new tools in the works. He just re-released all of the basics in black instead of the red handles which could be a sign that there isn't as much new to come out with. Creativation is a place to demonstrate new things/things you want to sell and it would make sense that he wouldn't use the platform (legal reasons, notwithstanding) because it is off the market.
The agreement with the evil woman must have had some wiggle room seeing as how the travel platform showed up at TM a couple of months ago and Joann.com is still selling it in both sizes. If not, then you'd think they'd be forced to sell all of their stock to overseas suppliers.
Either way, I'm glad that he isn't using the misti. That tells me he doesn't want to help her sell them. We know he has one...unless he threw it away, lol.

I had never thought about a stamping platform until I stumbled across this thread, and I didn't know it was exactly what I needed to improve my stamping. I bought the TH travel sized platform (in Europe) and I love it. Great quality and really useful. Great size too!

I watched the new ruler video and it was kind of painful. For one, you're right-she didn't seem very enthusiastic about it but maybe that's her personality. Also, she had to cut over and over and over so many times I can't see this ruler surviving long. Seems like it would get chips and snags on it pretty quickly. And lastly, I can do the exact same things on a standard quilting ruler, AND there are already quilt rulers on the market with cutting guides like that. They're made for rotary cutters so they don't have as much of a risk of getting all boogered up. When I'm using a craft knife I prefer a ruler with a metal guide. Oh don’t you just wish that the company with these rulers already on the market would take her down for this copycat ruler? I do! I always say, what goes around comes around... eventually... sorry but it would really be satisfying to see someone give her a taste of her own medicine!

Thought the OP might like this video The platform this poster likes was at my Tuesday Morning today for $19.99. I already have the MISTI (not my fav) and both of the Tim Holtz platforms so it did not come home with me.

I have two Mistis and two TH platforms, however, I would never support her again after everything she has done and said. I don't think what she is producing is anything new. The ruler, I have many rulers and they work just fine.

I watched it on fast forward, and skipped some at that. Definitely could have been a 5-10 minute video. I'd imagine she's working without a script, hence the rambling?

Well I watched some more TH videos and he did tour the Tonic display. He mentioned the fabric cutting scissors, haberdasher scissors he calls them. That was the only new Tonic thing. I just can’t see him having any part of a stamp positioner with Petunia even if Tonic does collaborate with her eventually. I bet he hollowed out the bottom and made something funny out of the Misti she gave him, like a mini toilet seat. He’s got a pretty wicked sense of humor.

He had a whole corner in the Tonic booth and his glass Matt and something else was in his area of Ranger I just can’t remember what it was. We were surprised to see the Tonic stuff in the Ranger booth.

I didn’t know he had Tonic stuff in the Ranger booth. I saw the Tonic booth tour. It’s kind of dicey with the glass mat because Ranger makes the “other” craft mat-the brown one.

this is how long I lasted, too. My initial thought was "a company actually agreed to produce a product that you designed just because YOU couldn't cut correctly with a regular ruler and a craft knife?" because I do just fine with either a quilting ruler or a metal ruler. And I would imagine that most people can figure out how to do it just fine, or come up with some other way to cut. I can't see her selling many of those rulers.

Taking that long + getting out a specialized tool just to cut one straight line would drive me bananas. If someone is truly hopeless at cutting banners to the right size, I'd suggest they get some thin rectangle dies, not a plastic ruler that's going to put their fingers in danger. That or practice. Once you get the hang of lightly pressing the blade inwards towards the *metal* ruler, straight is a breeze.

Yeah, there've been rumblings about SU! being her next lawsuit target. ... It feels weird to root for the big MLM company, and not the indie developer. What strange mirror universe have I wandered into?!

What strange mirror universe have I wandered into?! This struck me also. I always root for the little guy. That’s how obnoxious her behavior was toward her customers.

Yes, I just saw on Nancy Nally's Scrapbook Update that she is going after Stampin Up now. www.scrapbookupdate.com/2019/02/13/update-cuttlebug-copic-hobby-lobby-michaels-joann-more/Will she ever learn that her time would be better spent trying to improve her own product rather than trying to take advantage of competitors with more innovative ideas? Hers was not the first stamp press ever, and clearly it is no longer the best. Maybe now her reputation is so damaged by her own reactions, that she has no choice. Too bad she doesn't have someone other than lawyers to advise her on her business strategy.

I'm glad they are challenging one of her patents. I wish that Tonic had held out against them in their lawsuit.
MSP seems like she has a bully mentality. Sometimes the bullying only stops when someone stands up against them.
I have felt for a long time that her patent should not have been approved. My impression was that whoever did approve it, was just lazy.
