Well, I didn’t cook last night, I wasn’t hungry so I got DS a sub. So i never made those Italian hotdogs. But those are in a sealed package so I think I’m going to make the chicken tonight so it doesn’t go bad. Chicken & salad & veggie of some sort.
Hope everyone is well

We have just made it home fro Santorini and it is 7:15pm and I have no idea what we are doing for dinner. DH suggested pizza earlier - the pizza place is only a 5 minute walk away, so it is likely to be that.

I have pizza leftover so I will have that. I am on my own tonight so I can eat whatever I want. I can also be lazy. We had a very vegetable intense dinner last night so I am ok with less for an evening.

I'm thinking I might try grilling salmon. I used to grill it all the time but DH likes it better broiled in the oven. I agree it's better because I can control it but it's too dang hot to broil in the house! Maybe I'll grill veggies for the 3ed day in a row. DH says he could eat them every night and they are so easy.

MIL came up yesterday and took DH and kids to the movies. So they filled up on popcorn. I set out a cheese and cracker tray and a fruit tray and they were more than willing to call that dinner.
DH said he'd make the burgers tonight.
The weekend goes entirely too fast. I just want to sit and scrapbook. I am kind of hoping DH takes his kids out of town in two weeks so I can be home alone and just do my thing. I think I need a break.

I've already cooked the potatoes & green beans for my Salad Nicoise. The eggs were boiled yesterday and only the tuna still needs to be grilled, which will be done just before eating.
Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!

On Sundays we make a bit of an effort.
We had crumbed chicken fillet, spicy rice, potato wedges and roasted veggies.
I have a fair amount of smoked salmon which I bought for a steal. Not sure how to serve except with a tossed salad. Any ideas?
Hope everyone had a great Sunday!

Dh took a big spiral sliced ham out of the freezer yesterday and cooked/heated/glazed it. It’s resting while the green beans and scalloped potatoes cook. He won’t eat scalloped potatoes (too milky for him, lol, he won’t eat baked mac and cheese either) so he’s cooking some rice.
I searched my kitchen for my mandolin when I went to slice the potatoes and couldn’t find it. Dh searched for a good 10 minutes before locating it in the deep recesses of a closet. Is it just mine or do other husbands arrange and rearrange kitchen cupboards? I kind of wish he wasn’t so organized, well, except sometimes it really comes in handy! 😉

No cooking for me today! We went shopping in Sweden (mostly chewing gun and sweets, since those things are so much cheaper there). There's a small town close to the border where they rent out......I have no idea what they called them.....but they looked like giant tricycles that float. Sooo fun, but I have a nagging suspicion that I will feel it in my legs tomorrow. We brought my niece with us, she's 22 but still likes to do fun things together with her cousin and me. And when we were so close to the border, why not go shopping as well? And since it was time for lunch, we had that as well (a Chinese restaurant, which was okay, I guess).

I will be eating leftover chili rice. And broccoli. Because it's nice to have a vegetable at some point during the weekend, right? On Sundays we make a bit of an effort. Any ideas? Hope everyone had a great Sunday! We eat smoked salmon on bagels with cream cheese. Sometimes we add capers, red onion, tomatoes, sliced cheese, etc. Or make little tea sandwiches with thin bread and herbed cream cheese. Cut off the crusts. Unless you hate being wasteful. Or chop it up and add it to scrambled eggs. YUM.

I'm back from an afternoon of shopping with my sister and mom. I usually hate clothes shopping, but I did find a pair of pants, shoes and a light weight jacket.
We are surprising my mom tonight with an early birthday dinner at a Japanese hibachi place. I've already peeked at the menu and I think I'll do the vegetable dinner.
sueg, once you get unpacked and back to regular life, I hope you can share a picture from Santorinia. We all wanted to be there!

I'll try that for breakfast tomorrow with sliced avo.

My mother used to make a casserole with smoked salmon But my family loves a smoked salmon salad Minced smoked salmon Fresh dill Thinly sliced onions Just a touch of evoo if the fish wasn’t oily enough Maybe a bit of pepper to taste Served with any kind of greens

Your tribal scribe has been on a trip to learn how to sharpen her pencils sharper and more pointier and more preciser. She needs to learn grammar and spelling, too, hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha!
She has one more week of this sort of activity and has enjoyed meeting other scribes, none as goll-darn lucky as she is to have this particular tribe to scribe for OR for which to scribe, #whicheverthehellyouwantladeedah.
She had a major burrito for late lunch - filled with freshly cooked pinto beans with cheese, a pico de gallo to remember, and some tasty guacamole WITHOUT LIME, FOR GOLL-DARN SAKES!
Thanks for the thread and the meme. We used to ride motorcycles all around the country, but never, nope not ever, with a side car or a dog. Dogs belong on terra firma, not on a high-speed freeway.

We are smoking some salmon and tri tip today. Brown sugar glaze on the salmon. Dry run on the tri tip. I'll cook some corn on the cob and make a wedge salad later.

Today has been all about shopping online for ds' apartment this fall. W/a dd I could probably take her out shopping and we'd have a great time, but my son just wants to make sure that nothing is purple. So, I just order online for him w/his input. That consists of, "Whatever. I don't care. Thanks for doing this for me". Everyone is having home sales for this reason. We had plenty of leftovers. I haven't done anything other than click and browse all day long. Welcome back o'scribal one ( desertgirl). Have you written the great american novel, yet? Dh does our kitchen organizing, KelleeM. He has great spatial relations and when he gets bored I benefit from it.

scrapmaven - I have, indeed, written the Great American Post-It Note! It is fluorescent orange, or maybe it is pink, but it is a masterpiece to behold (or to crumble up and throw out) and to read. And I continue to revise it so that it is purrfectly satisfying to pet and cuddle. Oh, wait, that's my cat, or yours, whatever the case may be. I need a break from all of my penciling. Have a great evening, oh weekend tribal warriors!

Dinner is going to be roasted broccoli, cauliflower and carrots in Italian dressing, chicken asiago sausage and a baked potato for DH. I've had way, way more than my allowed weight watchers points today due to the number of cookies I sampled while baking for DS. Tomorrow is another day to try to live within my WW points. Today may be the first day in 2 months that I've totally blown the limit.

scrapmaven .......How is the new tube treating you? hop2 .....Are you feeling any better today? I hope so! sueg once you get unpacked and back to regular life, I hope you can share a picture from Santorinia. We all wanted to be there! sueg ----Yesss!!! Pleeeze post piks! I had googled Sontarini when you first mentioned it, and.......wow!!! Of course, it'd be awesome to see not only piks of the gorgeous scenery, but you and DH enjoying it! (oooh, and I dunno if you photograph food, but I'd love to see that, too!) All this talk of SALMON, cream cheese, and bagels is making me crave it....also, salmon on the GRILL---yum! We're having grilled burgers---one of my absolute faves! With lots of sauteed mushrooms and swiss cheese, LOTS of tomatoe, purple onion, mustard, mayo on a yummy onion bun that our grocery store bakery makes. The charcoal/ wood flavor from GRILLING makes *ALL* the difference to me! I have no interest in a burger cooked in a pan....nooooo!!!!!!

Hello foodies! Haven't posted here in a while (It's been hot and I've been slacking and not cooking much) but I did throw a small pork loin in the slow cooker today to make pulled pork. We'll have that with coleslaw w/pineapple and corn on the cob. Hope everyone is enjoying their summer.
