NPR... “Based on calculations by NPR, the average special election shift was 10 points towards the Democrats. If you apply that margin to all 435 congressional districts — using the 2016 presidential margins as a partisan baseline — Democrats would win 63 seats. n.pr/2OIphwe” Oh please please be true. Somebody posted the voter numbers breakdown in this week’s primaries. Even in reliably red or purple areas, people voting in Democratic primaries hugely outnumbered those voting in Republican ones.

MSNBC... “NEW: Exclusive: President Trump is increasingly venting frustration about US strategy in Afghanistan, and showing renewed interest in a proposal by Blackwater founder Erik Prince to privatize the war, current and former sr. admin. officials tell @nbcnews.” So tiny hands is finally seeing the reality of the Middle East and it’s just not that easy to “win” in spite of all his big talk. But this idea is just plain dumb. But, but, but Flak Jacket Jared was gonna 'chute in a fix the whole ME, right?!?!? RIGHT!?!?!?!?

An excerpt from unhinged...just reading it is creeping me out.
“When Ivanka finished her speech, she presented “my father and our next president, Donald J. Trump!” The nominee walked onstage from the wings, went over to his daughter, placed his hands on her bare upper arms and kissed her. Then he placed his hands low on her hips while appraising her, and then patted her on her hip. The placement of his hands made everyone uncomfortable. But I was used to the sickening feeling I had whenever they touched or kissed or he openly admired her form. Usually, it was in private, like the time not too long before the convention, during the campaign, when Trump and I and a few other people were in a meeting. Ivanka came into the room wearing a fitted skirt. The entire meeting had to stop so he could gush about her body. “You look great! I like the way that skirt fits. Doesn’t Ivanka look great?” He insisted that we all agree that his daughter’s tight skirt was very flattering. I thought, Why don’t the two of you cut it out? It appeared to me that Ivanka had gotten so used to his touching her in ways that made others cringe and either didn’t notice it anymore or purposefully allowed it to happen—as I’ve said, “Ivanka uses his obsession with her to her advantage.”

“What disturbed me the most about the Manafort situation was the lack of vetting. This was a major party presidential campaign, and it seemed like no one was being sufficiently legally checked out before being put in leadership roles. This would come back to bite us again and again.

“In conjunction with NDC and Pastor Darrell Scott, we organized an event at the Great Faith Ministries Church in Detroit where Donald would address the congregation. Ben “Carson came along with us. Right off the bat, there was some trouble with Pastor Wayne T. Jackson. Because of the vocal protesters outside, he was waffling about letting Trump speak from his pulpit. Donald snapped at me, “Why did I come here if I’m not going to speak. You have to fix this.”
The pastor and I had a heated exchange. Donald walked up and watched me handle it. It was a bit odd to be arguing about him, with him just looming there. The pastor agreed that he could speak, and then I escorted him into the sanctuary. I had a lot of organizational things to do, so I got up to take care of them. He grabbed my wrist and said, “You can’t leave me with these people.” The look in his eyes was like a lost child.
I stayed with him, sitting to his left for the whole service. The praise dancers came out before the sermon, and Donald said, “Wow, there’s entertainment before church? I had no idea.”
“We’d only gotten through the devotional part of what would be a two-hour service when he leaned toward me and said, “This is the longest I’ve been in church in my life.” A bit later: “When is this going to end?” And again: “God, how much longer do I have to sit here?” When he finally got to address the congregation, I hoped he’d speak from the heart, but he pulled out a piece of paper and read some bland, stump-speech remarks. I’d pushed Pastor Jackson so he could just say, “I want to help you build and rebuild Detroit. I fully understand that the African American community has suffered from discrimination and there are many wrongs that should be made right.” This community didn’t need reminding that their lives were hard.”

“Matt Lauer moderated a forum with Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton at the Intrepid Sea, Air & Space Museum in New York, and Donald praised Vladimir Putin as a strong leader, “far more than our president has been.” We cautioned him against pro-Putin rhetoric, saying, “He’s not somebody that you want to align yourself with.” He didn’t understand why. It became immediately apparent that Trump lacked basic comprehension about the very complicated relationship between the United States, the former Soviet Union, and modern Russia. History didn’t seem to matter to him. Donald was not a student of history. He wasn’t a student of anything but what he was doing and has done. He’d never been a big reader, either, and I’d be shocked if he’d ever read a book about the Cold War. I just don’t think that he had the attention span to even watch a documentary about Russia. He was fixated on Vladimir Putin as a feared, respected, and admired leader. I believe he was envious of the control that Putin exerts over his people. Trump went with his gut, and his gut told him, “I like Putin, and I want him to be my friend.” Nothing else matters.”

Hi!
Jumping in to say hello and HALLELUJAH FOR NO MILITARY PARADE!!!!
I was soo super upset about that whole damn thing. The news from the Pentagon about it being postponed was one of the best things I've heard in a long time. I don't care why it was postponed. I don't care if Lord Fuckweasel now wants to say HE decided to cancel it. I don't care.
I'm just thankful our military personnel are more likely to spend Veterans Day being honored rather than honoring a tyrant.
VICTORY!!!

“The Washington Post put up a video on its website that has become known the world over as the Access Hollywood tape.
I was at an airport, on my way home to LA, when the news broke.”
“Throughout the afternoon, I was receiving texts from the campaign. Lara was giving us updates on the back-and-forth behind the scenes. Apparently, RNC chairman Reince Priebus wanted Trump to bow out of the race, but Steve Bannon would not hear of it.”
“When in crisis, the unofficial Trump family strategy was to go dark for twenty-four hours. But this time, Trump released a video statement after only seven hours, the famous “locker-room talk” sorry-not-sorry apology. The strategy was conceived by Bannon, Jared, and Kellyanne. This was the big plan? People wanted him to express shame, but he refused to do that. He simply couldn’t admit that he’d done anything wrong and he had no empathy for anyone he’d offended, because he had no empathy for anyone, period. Donald Trump’s single greatest character flaw as a leader and human being is his complete and total lack of empathy.”

“The MAGA messaging email of the day covered a lot of ground, avoiding an apology and relying on tried-and-true tactics. The points made, and selected quotes from the memo are as follows: Despite his comments about women, we were to say, “Mr. Trump has the utmost respect for all of the women in his life—his wife, daughters, the women he has promoted throughout his businesses, and the millions of women who support him as the agent of change this country needs.” It pushed our mentioning that if Melania accepted her husband’s apology, so should everyone else. Whenever someone mentioned Access Hollywood, we were to say, “Mr. Trump’s words pale in comparison to the words and, vitally, tragic actions of Hillary Clinton. She has called tens of millions of Americans desperate, deplorable, irredeemable people who live in their parents’ basement.” No matter what, pivot to key words and phrases including, but not limited to: “Benghazi,” “emails,” “private server,” “Hillary Clinton bullied and smeared Bill Clinton’s accusers,” “Hillary dreams of open borders,” “Hillary Clinton has swanky fundraisers with her Wall Street buddies.” Regarding the debate, we were to say that Hillary Clinton was “robotic,” “scripted,” “out of touch, “and evasive about emails. On the contrary, we were to praise Trump’s “wild success as a businessman, problem solver, and change agent.” The catchphrase would be, “Mr. Trump will once again show himself to be the strong, focused, energetic leader we need” to Make America Great Again.”

“Donald has told me that he thinks Obama is a fraud. He questioned his nationality, his citizenship, his scholarship. He’s demanded to see Obama’s birth certificate, his passport, and his Harvard transcripts. In 2011, Trump told the Associated Press, “I heard he was a terrible student, terrible. How does a bad student go to Columbia and then to Harvard? I’m thinking about it, I’m certainly looking into it. Let him show his records.”
When I would challenge Trump on his erroneous assessment of President Obama, he would say, “Omarosa, you only support him because he’s black! And he hasn’t done anything for the black community, look at his Chicago—it’s a mess, his people are dying and he does nothing!” In Trump’s mind, Obama made up his credentials as a community organizer, and this “this became a common rant starting in 2007 and continuing to this day.”
“I believe Donald Trump was incapable of believing a black man could be all that Barack Obama is, and he was determined to expose him. The irony is, Trump himself has greatly inflated his own wealth. He has said that he graduated in the top of his class, which has been proven to be untrue. Trump is the one who has the sketchy bio, and he overcompensates for it by attacking Obama to feed his base.”

“Very organized process taking place as I decide on Cabinet and many other positions. I am the only one who knows who the finalists are!” Trump tweet, November 15, 2016
It was hardly an organized process! Trump’s was probably the most bizarre transition in the history of this country. He is a New York showman, and everything had to be a Broadway production. His candidates had to present themselves to him at Bedminster, his golf course in New Jersey; Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach; or Trump Tower in Manhattan, and walk before a spray of photographers—like the Miss USA beauty pageant runway—”“for their audience with King Trump. The selection process for his cabinet was like an episode of The Bachelor. The candidates fought to win the figurative rose.”

“Let’s play connect the swamp dots:
Senator Jeff Sessions for attorney general was announced on November 18, apparent payback for his support during the campaign as the first senator to come out for Donald. Trump chooses loyalty over logic; his obsession causes him to make bad decisions. If you looked at Sessions’s credentials and his tremendous baggage, you would have known that that was a terrible choice. He’d been denied a federal judgeship in 1986 in part because of his alleged use of the N-word and jokes about the KKK, but Trump wanted him for attorney general? Why? Because he had been loyal to Trump when everyone was mocking him and calling his run a joke. The outrage was justified and deafening, but Trump ignored it.”
“Billionaire Betsy DeVos (whom Trump calls Ditzy DeVos behind her back) was selected as secretary of education. She is the sister of Erik Prince (who disclosed that he has cooperated with the Mueller investigation), the founder of Blackwater (now known as Academi), the private security firm the US government contracted to support its forces in Afghanistan and Iraq, where its mercenaries killed more than a dozen civilians. DeVos and her family members had reportedly donated tens of millions over the years to Republicans, including nearly $1 million to senators who would vote to confirm her appointment. The November 23 announcement that DeVos had been chosen to lead the Department of Education set off an explosion of anxiety, given her utter lack of experience and her advocacy for charter schools and the privatization of public education. Trump had promised to improve public education in depressed areas, but his pick here said otherwise.”
“Everybody liked to point out Donald Trump’s obsession with generals. He confided to me that he thought the generals would send a message to the world that he was “badass.” So we watched him bring the stars and bars into the cabinet or to cabinet-level positions: General Michael Flynn as national security adviser, who was replaced soon after by General H. R. McMaster (who has since been replaced by the non-general John Bolton), (Ret.) Lieutenant General Keith Kellogg as chief of staff and executive secretary of the National Security Council (who now serves as national security advisor to Mike Pence), General Jim Mattis as secretary of defense, and General John Kelly as secretary of homeland security.”

“Congressman John Lewis, the civil rights icon who was one of the original Freedom Riders in the 1960s, went on Meet the Press on January 14 and said the Trump presidency was illegitimate and that he intended to boycott the inauguration. Trump wasted no time in responding on Twitter, writing, “Congressman John Lewis should spend more time on fixing and helping his district, which is in horrible shape and falling apart (not to mention crime infested) rather than falsely complaining about the election results. All talk, talk, talk—no action or results. Sad!” I was livid and called him to ask him, “Why are you doing this? John Lewis is one of the most respected men in America. Not to mention a civil rights icon! You have to stop this!” “He took the first shot,” said Donald. “If he hits me, I hit back.” I explained to him that acting presidential was not just talking the talk but walking the walk. Take the high road when people attack you. Almost surprised, and caught off guard by how upset I was about his attacks on Lewis, Donald simply said, “Well, he started it, Omarosa!”

“Traditionally, the president-elect would visit the National Archives with a guide and select one from the vast collection of historical Bibles that had personal meaning to him or was previously owned by someone with a shared political philosophy or worldview, or that he had an affinity for. Barack Obama, an Illinois native and a black man, chose the same Bible that Abraham Lincoln was sworn in on, as well as the traveling Bible of Martin Luther King Jr. John Quincy Adams was sworn in on a constitutional law book because that held meaning for him. George Washington was sworn in on his own Masonic Bible, which Warren G. Harding, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and George H. W. Bush had since placed their hands upon during their inauguration ceremonies. Others chose a family Bible. Ronald Reagan used his mother’s well-read and annotated Bible. JFK used the Fitzgerald family Bible. Donald mentioned to me that he would have to make this choice, and wasn’t inspired by his options. It’s not mandatory that new presidents swear in on a Bible, but most have done so. He asked me, “Omarosa, what do you think about me getting sworn in on The Art “of the Deal?” I said, “Instead of the Bible?” “Yeah. The Art of the Deal is a bestseller! It’s the greatest business book of all time. It’s how I’m going to make great deals for the country. Just think how many copies I’d sell—maybe a commemorative inauguration copy?!” “I know you’re not going to be a traditional president, but that’s just too crazy. Whatever you do, don’t repeat that idea to anybody else,” I said. We laughed. He wanted me to believe he was kidding.”

Report: Trump considering plan to privatize Afghanistan warBY TAL AXELROD - 08/17/18 01:09 PM EDT NBC News on Friday, citing current and former senior administration officials, reported the proposition would replace troops with private military contractors who would work for a government liaison, who would in turn report directly to the president. Trump’s “advisers are worried his impatience with the Afghanistan conflict will cause him to seriously consider proposals like Prince's or abruptly order a complete U.S. withdrawal,” according to the report.** In an interview with NBC News, Prince said he thinks Trump’s advisers are painting “as rosy a picture as they can” in the war effort while claiming that peace is near. NBC News reports that administration officials often emphasize political resolutions with the Taliban and downplay military frustrations on the ground. Prince also told NBC News that he will soon launch a media campaign to bring the White House around to his proposal.** Second, Blackwater, now known as Academi, has a questionable history with human rights following its alleged involvement in the killings of unarmed civilians in Iraq. ** More at link...... thehill.com/homenews/administration/402352-report-trump-considering-plan-to-privatize-afghanistan-warRemote planning, but it cold happen, because he apparently can do whatever he chooses!! Remember, Prince brother to DeVos, Blackwater killing civilians, but they don't count with dt!!

MSNBC... “The majority of Americans believe it is "never acceptable" for a presidential campaign to obtain info on a political opponent from a hostile foreign power, according to a new poll. Watch more: on” The Quinnipiac Poll 12% acceptable 79% never acceptable. Then Hillary and her campaign shouldn't have used the Steele dossier to obtain info on a political opponent. Steele didn't obtain info from a hostile foreign power. He got info from private citizens living in foreign countries. Citizens do not equal hostile foreign power. Putin or people acting on behalf of Putin = hostile foreign power.

“Instead of a triumphant second day of the Trump presidency, we were drowning in exaggerations, protests, and side-by-side photos of the Washington Mall of Trump’s modest inauguration draw of 306,000 next to Obama’s 2009 record-breaking 1.8 million crowd. The Women’s March massive turnout—at least five hundred thousand in DC; five million worldwide—rankled him, too. The president simply could not stand to be outsized by a bunch of women in pink hats or a black man, especially that black man.”

“On day six, January 25, Trump repeated his false claim that three to five million people cast ballots illegally. He was still litigating the November election, and would continue to do so over and over again, to this day. He was obsessed with the election, and he was furious when it came out that he’d lost the popular vote by millions. For his first few months in the White House, Trump kept big charts in his private dining room, in his den, in his study, that showed the electoral map color coded in red and blue. Most of the country was coded red, while the most populous urban centers were coded blue. When anyone walked in, he’d point to the chart and talked about the election results. If you walked in in the morning, he’d tell the story of his victory, with the visual aid of the chart. If you walked in in the afternoon, you’d hear the same story again, verbatim.”

“I believed that if we gave him the right data, he’d talk and tweet about that verified information. We were in the White House, with every resource available to us to get the most accurate data imaginable. For days, I thought there had to be a glitch in the flow of accurate data to him. The correct information was delivered to him in his morning briefing folders—always with headlines from his love-to-hate newspapers the New York Times and the Washington Post on top—but he ignored it in favor of unverified info. The question became, was he just making things up or was his intel coming from outside the White House? We quickly realized that the president, a gluttonous consumer of media, had been going on Twitter and picking things up from disreputable, random sources, taking what he read there as fact, and reposting for all the world to see. We needed fact-checkers, or at least a filter for POTUS Twitter posts. The directive came down from Reince that our default position was to back up whatever the president said or tweeted, regardless of its accuracy.”
“In these meetings, Mike Pence defended Trump, saying, “God is telling me to support the president. God is telling me I’m here to serve.” He was being directed by a higher deity to agree with Trump no matter what. When he’d been tapped for VP, people said that he’d bring a different perspective—a moral, Christian perspective—and speak out for compassion. But the only time he’s spoken out with indignation since he’d been chosen as Trump’s running mate was when General Michael Flynn lied to him about Russian sanctions.”

“On day eighteen, Jeff Sessions (whom Trump calls Benjamin Button behind his back) was confirmed as attorney general, despite the Democrats’ attempt to stop it, led by the Congressional Black Caucus and, most vocally, Senator Al Franken. The irony of his confirmation during Black History Month was not lost on me. My policy with Sessions was to be polite but keep a distance. That’s what you do as an African American professional in this country. If every black person quit his or her job because someone in the workplace was racist, not many of us would be employed.”
“After this time with VP Pence, I became troubled about him. The first thing I noticed was that people on his staff kept slipping up and calling him president—accidentally sometimes. Jokingly, in private, I heard people say things like, “When we’re in charge . . . ,” or “Once you become president. . . .” I asked him explicitly if he had any ambitions for the highest office after Donald completed his two terms. Pence said, “Two “terms? You think two terms? That’s good, I like the way you think, Omarosa. I’m here to serve the president. I’m only loyal to the president.”
“One thing that I found disturbing during the address to the joint session of Congress was how Mike Pence gazed worshipfully at the back of Trump’s head for an hour straight. Every one in the senior staff thought that Mike Pence was a Stepford Veep. It seemed obvious that he was too perfect to be genuine. His and Trump’s personalities and worldviews were diametrically opposed. And yet, Pence agreed with everything Trump said or did. In real life, no one beams worshipfully at you all the time like that. If someone looked at you that way, you’d be disturbed and think about a restraining order. But Trump was not normal and he liked Pence’s apparent worship of him so much that they established a weekly lunch together. Perhaps his attraction to Pence was another sign of his loneliness. No one else in his life gazed at him with such adoration, certainly not his wife anymore. (Maybe Ivanka?)”

“I’d come to understand that he read at an eighth- or ninth-grade level. That’s fine for some, but for the leader of the free world? We went from Barack Obama, a scholar, an academic, to Donald Trump, who was just this side of functionally literate. Donald is very street-smart and is talented at making quick adjustments. His adaptability has been a skill that benefited him as a businessman. But for the job he had now, he needed to be able to read, and he struggled. I’ll go on the record and say that Donald Trump has never read from beginning to end any of the major pieces of legislation, policies, or even some of these executive orders that he has signed. Senior advisors spoon-feed him five to ten bullet points about the legislation and forgo any discussion of the “complexities. To this day, his team pushes through Trump’s EOs and bills, and Donald has only a surface-level understanding of the content he’s signing into law. When Donald once said he wanted to have an IQ-test competition with Rex Tillerson, I thought, Oh no, you don’t want to do that. I know people will point to his wealth and say, “Well, how can you say he can barely read, if he’s such a great businessman?” Donald has always relied on his charisma, his street smarts, and trusted advisers to tell him what was in the paperwork.”

“On day seventy-eight, on April 7, Neil M. Gorsuch was confirmed by the Senate to become a Supreme Court justice for life. This was a huge victory for Trump. He was, and is, obsessed with appointing judges to the bench who agree with his views. Someone told him that appointing Trump-like federal judges was the best way to extend the reach of his presidency far beyond his years in office. He might joke about getting rid of presidential term limits, but his real agenda is to ensure his legacy for decades to come in the judiciary. And if that doesn’t scare you, it should. He’s quietly succeeding at this.”
“Day eighty-three, Donald dropped the “Mother of All Bombs”—the most powerful conventional bomb in the American arsenal—into a cave network in Afghanistan. He was obsessed with it. He fixated on it for weeks afterward, and his retelling of the story seemed to edge out his constant recounting of Election Night for a time. If anyone went to his offices, he’d regale them by saying, “I was sitting there with my chocolate cake and they came in and told me, ‘We’re going to do it!’ and I gave the approval. I told them they could drop the ‘mother of all bombs. . . .’ ” He kept repeating it, almost like he was reliving it with whomever was in his company. “Did you see that ‘mother of all bombs’ drop?” A day later, “Oh my God, that ‘mother of all bombs!’ Did you see it?” I seriously began to suspect that the president was delusional or had a mental condition, that made him forget from one day to the next. Was Donald like Ronald Reagan, impaired while everyone around him ran the show and covered up for him? Was Mike Pence his Nancy Reagan, with the same vapid, adoring looks?”
“Day eighty-eight, on April 17, Melania Trump hosted the 139th annual White House Easter Egg Roll, which should have been an innocuous, nonpartisan event. Donald stood on the Truman Balcony with a man in a bunny suit. He looked stiff and uncomfortable and the memes were merciless, as was to be expected. Donald forgot to put his “hand over his heart during the national anthem, and Melania had to give him a little nudge to remind him. The extended Trump family appeared, all the men in navy suits and all the women in sleeveless, formfitting dresses. In a past event, Obama read Where the Wild Things Are to the kids. Trump was not going to read in public if he could help it, not even a children’s book, so that duty fell on Melania, who entertained the kids by reading Kathie Lee Gifford’s Party Animals on the South Lawn with dignity and grace.
But this was a controversial event, too. For starters, we couldn’t give tickets away. Obama’s last Easter Egg Roll drew a crowd of more than thirty-five thousand people to the White House. Trump’s first drew about twenty thousand. Crowd size was always a bone of contention, especially when Trump was compared to Obama. Not only was demand for tickets way down, the people who did show up were predominantly white. The lack of diversity during the Easter Egg Roll was pretty remarkable. The event was in conjunction with the social office, and the OPL was responsible for inviting different constituency groups. I spent a week trying to line up diverse groups to participate in the Easter Egg Roll, but no one wanted to come!”

If this is true, it can explain the entire complicit staff/house
“On May 9, Donald fired James Comey, the director of the FBI. The public reason was that he disapproved of Comey’s handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation. Trump’s famous letter to Comey included this extraordinary sentence: “While I greatly appreciate you informing me, on three separate occasions, that I am not under investigation, I nonetheless concur with the judgment of the Department of Justice that you are not able to effectively lead the bureau.” Of course, the firing was all about Comey’s rejection of Trump’s loyalty demand. Trump had been talking about firing Comey for weeks, but I never thought he’d go through with it. During one of my visits he asked, “Hey, Omarosa, what do you think about Comey? I had to let him go, right? He couldn’t be trusted; he was not loyal.”
“I appeased him by saying, “Hey, you did what you had to do.” No one—and I do mean not a single person in the White House—agreed with his decision. But they didn’t dare tell him that. He was so all over the place at that point; anything could trigger fits of rage, and you did not want to be on the receiving end of one of those. He could get very worked up about the leaks. He wasn’t happy about the staff; Ivanka and Jared were urging him to get rid of Reince and Sean. Others were bombarding him with issues he needed to deal with.”

“Trump went to a NATO summit in Brussels, and shoved Duško Marković, the prime minister of Montenegro, out of the way so he would be standing in the center of the group photo. Of course, he was called out for the move. I asked him, “You came off a little aggressive. Why did you do that?” He said, “Oh, he’s just a whiny punk bitch.”
“Joe Scarborough and Mika Brzezinski were people he considered to be backstabbers. When they spoke harshly of him on MSNBC’s Morning Joe, he would often rail, “No loyalty! None!” at the screen.
“I heard poorly rated @morningjoe speaks badly of me (don’t watch anymore). Then how come low I.Q. Crazy Mika, along with Psycho Joe, came . . . . . to Mar-a-Lago 3 nights in a row around New Year’s Eve, and insisted on joining me. She was bleeding badly from a face-lift. I said no!” Trump tweets, June 29, 2017, 5:52 and 5:58 am
He did watch the show, and was incensed by it. When he tweeted about Psycho Joe and low IQ Crazy Mika’s face-lift, an offensive, sexist tweet to be sure, the president was not taken to task for it by his advisers. But I was. I was blamed for Trump’s writing those tweets. News accounts accused me of setting him off, but that was just not the case. Early on, during the first one hundred days, he frequently called me and others to “pull up an article” or research and print out something he saw on cable news. He would ask for different “news clippings, too. His morning press-briefing folders, prepared by Spicer and his staff, only contained positive news items about Trump. They thought that if he read just the glowing reviews, he wouldn’t tweet something crazy. The strategy made no sense, since he watched TV continuously. Unless he was in a meeting or at an event, he was sitting in his private dining room off the Oval Office, in front of a wall of cable news TV with his ubiquitous Diet Coke and whatever snacks he’d summoned from the kitchen via the button on his desk.”
On a Betsy Devos...
“There is no way she should be the secretary of education. Once I returned and told DJT about what had happened, he shook his head in disgust. He said, “She is Ditzy DeVos, what do you expect? In a very short period of time, I will get rid of her. Believe me, believe me.”
“She is still serving and destroying the education system in this country. The depth and breadth of her ignorance is a travesty for the children. In each cabinet meeting, I was seated in the row near her. I can tell you, after a year of sitting in those meetings and observing her, that she’s woefully inadequate and not equipped for her job. She is just as horrible as you suspect she is. When she recently visited New York City, she went to several schools, but not a single one that was run by the city. New York has more than one million public school students, but she did not tour one public school. Not one. She does not care about your children. Be afraid. Be very, very afraid.”
