His concern for the birds is just heart warming.
But he didn’t talk about how black lung disease kills those who work in the coal mines and how the Republicans either cut or reduced the tax coal mine owners were paying to pay for the medical expenses of those who have black lung disease. And let’s don’t forget what trump and company have done to the ACA which I am sure helps coal miners and their families.
He’s all heart. And proves once again why he is unfit to be president.

Merge Did you see this? Texas Democratic Senate candidate Beto O’Rourke posted a video on Facebook talking to supporters. One thing was a bit different than typical political candidates, however. The challenger of Sen. Ted Cruz (R-TX) did it after skateboarding through the parking lot. The Generation X candidate explained that a friend of the campaign gave them a gift card to Whataburger for when they’re on the road. As he walked inside on Saturday night, O’Rourke shook a few hands, and some began chanting his name. O’Rourke then sat down to speak with supporters on camera about their efforts to help the campaign. One volunteer explained that they’ve been traveling through two bus breakdowns and one bottle of tequila for 32 people. As of the last week, O’Rourke was up six points against Cruz in the polls. Political scientists predict that the enthusiasm for O’Rourke’s candidacy has the chance to change Texas politics for years to come. Watch the video below: ( sorry I am not getting the video here. Great point! She does seem to be reasonably intelligent, but I'm not buying the fact that she was in the dark about who Trump really was, if she's been in "Trumpland" for 15 years. Hmm....... She'd have to have heard him or seen him being sexist and racist during those years at the very least. Hard to believe that she didn't witness him belittling people, conning people......... ALL of a sudden Charlottetown is her trigger? What about Trump's views about the Central Park 5? She must have heard about that.... His views about Obama are enough to upset anyone. She must be pretty dense. Oh, I'm fairly sure she knew. But ambition and all...you know. (Btw, I've been gone many months. I hope you and hubby are faring better.) When Omarosa was on Big Brother she had a discussion over campaigning for Hillary. She became salty over the Clinton campaign not giving her enough attention and ignoring her so she left. That proves she doesn't stand for anything but her own self interests. No way would Hillary make her an aide.

Some scary stuff!! Is a senior Air Force general using his power to spread far-right Christian nationalism?Paul Rosenberg, Salon PAUL ROSENBERG, SALON - COMMENTARY 19 AUG 2018 AT 14:02 ET On July 18, Air Force Brig. Gen. John Teichert assumed command of the 412th Test Wing at Edwards Air Force Base. Less than one month later, on Aug. 12, the Military Religious Freedom Foundation filed a 22-page complaint against him for violating military rules and regulations about religious proselytizing, based on the online record at Teichert’s Christian ministry website, “PLUS” (“Prayer at Lunchtime for the United States”), which has been in operation for five years, well before his latest promotion. Within the week, the MRFF, a watchdog group founded in 2005, received word that the Department of Defense was beginning a formal investigation. This story originally appeared on Salon. ** The complaint was filed on behalf of 41 clients at Teichert’s new command (32 of whom identify as Christian), “many of whom are in mortal fear of retaliation should they be personally identified in this matter, something that MRFF suggests is an equally troublesome issue,” as its text explains. Elsewhere the MRFF complaint argues that Teichert’s specific form of zealotry does not “promote diversity, unit cohesion, good order and discipline, religious tolerance and esprit de corps,” all considered core values of the 21st-century military. “Our clients feel as though they been spiritually raped by this general, and he was their commander,” Weinstein told Salon, comparing these circumstances to the Tailhook Scandal, which made sexual harassment in the military a major national issue. This one, he argues, is far more hidden. Complainants didn’t feel they could confront Teichert or even speak to him openly, Weinstein said, “because, again, the moment you do that you’re done.” ** Teichert fervently believes that America was founded as a Christian nation, and has fallen away from its original exalted state. The cultural resonance of these views — although they represent fake history — helps give cover to activity to would otherwise cause outrage. ** more at link: including some regulations listed. www.rawstory.com/2018/08/senior-air-force-general-using-power-spread-far-right-christian-nationalism/

That tax cut was mutton dressed as lamb. Although it’s true that most would benefit from an initial decrease to personal income tax in the short-term, the expiry in provisions will effectively wipe out that benefit to the middle class (whereas the gift of corporate tax cuts is permanent). To Trump’s credit, for round 2 he’s not even pretending to help the middle class. It’ll be another cut aimed at further reducing capital gains tax. Guess where the offset will come from. It continues to baffle me how exactly this is populism.

People are free to believe whatever they want to believe – either she Deepak Chopra’d herself to a higher level of consciousness and is now speaking up OR hey, there’s a lucrative book deal in all this!

This isn’t the first time where I heard an employer say they can’t find locals to do the jobs once held by immigrants both with seasonal workers and undocumented workers. I suspect there will be many more.

Some people crave fame and name recognition though, and being on a reality show gives them that almost instantly. Within a few episodes of the first Apprentice show, EVERYBODY knew who she was. America may not have *liked* her, but they definitely knew who she was. Exactly. She explains in the book the reason she went on the show was to see how Donald worked because she wanted to learn from him. She had no intention of playing the villain until Mark Burnett ran with it that way. She wanted to get into the businesses of Trump, but the show gave her different exposure and she went with it.I've never watched the Apprentice, but we watch plenty of 'reality TV' shows on other networks... they (the show's producers) ALL play angles on how they choose to portray certain 'characters' even if the show is SUPPOSED to be 'straight' reality. And I'm betting the people involved don't get all that much say on how they're portrayed in the finished show. The one I'm thinking of in particular is West Coast Choppers, with the relationship between Pauly and Paul Sr. Throwing things, yelling and screaming, etc. etc. I'm sure some of it was true, but I think a lot of it was played up and edited solely to increase ratings. The people involved can probably only protest so much about how the show makes them look, because, well, they agreed to be ON the show, after all. Deadliest Catch and Gold Rush are two others we watch regularly and they do the same thing; if you watch enough of these kinds of shows, you can TELL the producers are picking and choosing what to show and what to edit out. Even on Gold Rush, they edit the show to manufacture and amplify a rivalry so the viewers have a 'bad guy' and a 'good guy' to root for. It's annoying, frankly. In short, I can see how anyone's 'character' as seen on reality TV is only a small facet of their personality, amplified, magnified, and heavily edited for the viewers. I believe most of what she writes in her book happened; if not in those exact words, probably still pretty much as described.

The Hill... “WATCH: GOP state senator: "I don't have a problem" if Trump used the N-word before he was president” 1. We all know if this was a Democratic President he would be jumping up and down calling him or her a racist. 2. People who use the word generally are racist. Whether he used the word or not doesn’t change the fact that his actions and words prove he is a white nationalist. 3. That word is not ok to use, period. It is not ok to say when you are president, it is not okay to say if you are not president. Using that word is reprehensible, someone’s job when they said it shouldn’t alter that. If a cashier at a retail shop used that word, they would lose their job.

And I wasn't the one attending classes. They (kids and friends) all spoke freely around me and I have long been impressed by the upcoming generation. They, of course, were often pains in the backsides/goofs but that was more from coming of age stuff and not lack of general and political knowledge. They are a helluva lot more informed than I was at that age. I see, through them, hope for the future.

Although the trump properties are allowed to get the 'work visas' (I don't remember the official name for them) for their seasonal workers. my sister's husband has kids from a previous marriage... one of his sons runs a successful farm-to-table organic farming operation in southern Wisconsin; they supply organic salad greens, vegetables, grass-fed organic meat etc. to some of the restaurants in Madison, WI. She's told me more than once that he can't find workers to help out in the vegetable fields... and his is a small, local operation. The price of produce and meats will probably start going up, for the same reason. And then, it'll cause the farmers to lose money- but hey, we don't care about them, as long as they've already bought and paid for their MAGA trucker hats, amIright? Trump doesn't care about the people who actually WORK in the meat-packing plants, or even the people who run those businesses-- as long as HE gets his well-done steak-- and he has no concept of how much it costs to produce it.
