I like Liz's kit. If I picked one up it would be that one.
Im sorry, but not including still photos + prices is just lazy. If this is her 'big money maker' then she needs to act like it and put some effort into it.
Did anyone else catch that the blurb in the PP kit reveal that they cut the numbers of the mini kit - so a whole bunch of people wont be getting one this year (there were tons that didn't get one last year).

I'm so underwhelmed. I won't be buying anything tomorrow and waiting to see what Kelly Purkey's kits look like.

I'm over Ali. So disappointed with her prices and her hand slap "it's not about the product" in the middle of an ENTIRE blog post about how to buy the product. And her sheep who reply to the blog post in praise. Ugh.
I think I'm going with a 3x8 album and pintables from In A Creative Bubble. I love Geralyn's style and I'm happy to give her my money. Not sure about an album though, not a fan of Ali's offerings. She does have a 3x8 in the shop that might work ok.

I like Ali's kit. I will be picking that up. I'm okay with the price tag. I actually think it has a nice variety of embellishments. On a side note: Ali hasn't had a stamp in her kit since 2014, I think. I'm okay with that too. As for the extras, I don't plan on buying that much because I'm just not loving the colors/choices as much as I have in the past.
I'm excited to see what KP has in store - 6 kits is a lot, and I usually love her offerings.

$50 for that? Oh hell no. Ok good it’s not jyst me bitch eating crackers. Lol *licks up bitch cracker crumbs* Did anyone else catch that the blurb in the PP kit reveal that they cut the numbers of the mini kit - so a whole bunch of people wont be getting one this year (there were tons that didn't get one last year). I believe Ali meant they lowered the offer in terms of number of mini kits to choose from. Only one this year. Compared to 2015, that's like empty nest syndrome for the queen of DD. Ali's presenting it as some sort of miracle cure ("So you have more choice!" - barely paraphrasing) induced by our demands ("Oh, really?" - me, after those bitch cracker crumbs).
I am struggling to keep up with anything currently so didn't manage to finish the main kit video. So far, I'm not crazy about anything. I really like Liz's "it's the most wonderful time of the year" handwritten pattern which is a little ironic because, like others expressed, I find her handwriting far too prominent through the rest of the kit. I do love the inclusion of that yellow-toned blush hue in her mini kit but that's about it. A lot of the designs are extremely close to what Liz has offered in her Lilypad store, by the way. I immediately recognised some stuff.
By the way, did anybody else notice there was likely a design error with the 3x4 card that reads "'Tis the season" in black on both sides?
Will comment on the main kit video when I finish it and the kid's kit when I finally see it either later today or tomorrow. I need to head out for another appointment with my mother right now.
Here are the videos (so you don't need to give Ali's blog any extra views/blow up her follower interaction number #bitchcrackerbitchesbebitchin):

I haven't watched the video yet but I really like the kit. I haven't bought the main kit in a few years. I picked up one mini a couple of years ago and have gotten the album each year. This is the first kit in a long time I've just loved.
I like the little acrylic stars. I still have a few leftover from a kit I bought. I think they are versatile. I don't think there's too much paper and I like the wreath shape that's repeated. I wasn't feeling the mini -- not enough color for me although I like the white numbers but I think I bought something similar last year so I'm good. I love the little snowglobe but I got snowglobes in a line form ACOT.
I picked up a few things from ACOT (mostly crate paper pre-order) and will get an album from SC (hoping they release a new color, if not, I guess I'm going to add navy to my pages).
I think it's pretty pricey but if you add up the cost of all the little things (and I'll use most of it), I think it's inline with where the industry is with pricing. I'm just used to using a coupon at Michaels!
This project is so important to me. It makes me happy to make it and it makes me a million times more happy to look through my old albums every year. I'm super excited to get my hands on some product!
Very excited for KP. I like her style.
I don't scrapbook all the time. I make a travel journal and a DD yearly. That's it. I just don't have time for more and I like that I can finish these. If I were spending this much money all the time, it would be problematic, that's for sure!

I'm so annoyed that we don't have pictures of all the products, it's crazy. Why can't you have the shop up and live on the site but with a 'notify me' button instead of a 'buy' button for each item? Or, you know, have a pre order period like sensible people. From what I have seen (I'm at work so no video) I'm indifferent about Ali's album. It's fine, I guess, but not fine enough to buy. I do like those black stars with gold foil chipboard though. I failed to get the Paislee Press kit last year, but will be trying to get that this year, it's gorgeous. My 7 year old has asked to do a DD album this year and I'd like to get her the Brandi Kincaid album and she can have what I've got left over here at home for cards (although I do like the look of the whole kids kit). That said, if the time the shop opens wasn't at such a convenient time for me I'm not sure how much I'd be buying at all.

I'm passing altogether. I like the 3 by 8 album design but don't like the narrow spine. So I'm passing on that. I'm going to go with color cast designs wood album cover.
Liz's kit, nothing wows me that I have to have this in physical form. embellies are nothing special so also passing.
Waiting for kp and fyc otherwise shopping my stash . will pick up a few things from crate paper.

Totally underwhelmed by Ali’s kits, but I also think the video thing is such an obnoxious way to show it off. Takes too long to even open the damn box and then takes even longer to view the items. I much prefer photos. It appears there are bits of the kit I like, but no way is there enough to make me want to buy the kit and I don’t have time to deal with the shopping process for any add ons I might want tomorrow. I don’t love her colors, seeing her kit just makes me more anxious and excited for FYC.

I thought Ali's Main Kit offered so many embellishments. I'm doing a 3X8 size this year so I would not be able to use all those embellishments. I wasn't in love with her 6X8 papers or the cards. So it was easy for me to pass on it.
LOVED Liz's kit but like many others have stated, it's similar to her 2017 kit. I didn't purchase the 2017 kit, it sold out so I am happy to pick this one up. It has the right amount of embellishments and I can trim the 6X8 papers to make two 3X8 papers and I can trim some of the larger 4X6 cards to fit in the smaller 2X3 pockets.
The kids kit was adorable and Brandi's style fit so well with it.

It is super bitchy to give people tips on how to overcome their business deficits and then to tell you before you even order to shut up if you miss out on something you wanted due to their business deficits. Looks like they found the only place left to apply the old SC principle. She keeps this shit up, she's going to see a ghost town just like SC does. I've never thought Ali to be a bitch, but man. I actually called her a greedy ass bitch today after that blog post. Apparently she has been spending too much time with April. (I should add, I feel bad about thinking that, but like DH says - you didn't come to that conclusion on your own. Her actions helped.) I've thought for a long time that Ali is greedy. I cannot justify giving her one more dime of my money after the last two years of DD bullshit, and her recent order process handslappy post solidified that decision big time. I just don't get her cult following, but then again, there are a lot of things in life I'll never understand.

It’s a hard pass on the kits. I had thought I might pick up a stamp or two, as I generally like her stamps. But I’ll be staying clear of the kits or other addons.
Although at this point, I’m just about done with Ali Edwards, so I may not even pick up stamps.

I’m pretty relieved I went ahead & picked up several items from Crate Paper’s Merry Days collection, as well as the Ashely Goldberg patterned paper, OLB 2015 kit cards, & some other odds+ends from the summer December Daily “sale”.
I’m hoping that maybe one of the KP kits or the FYC kits will co-ordinate well w/ Merry Days, as one can never have too many Christmas stamps/specialty 3x4” cards, & ephemera packs.
That said, I am possibly in the minority, but I’d prefer to just be able to pick up a kit or two, an album, extra page protectors, a new stamp set, & some fun specialty items in a single order, from a single retailer, & I wouldn’t mind paying a reasonable premium for the convenience. The need to co-ordinate a “cohesive” album out of multiple collections causes me some degree of stress from decision fatigue. (It is, admittedly, the most first world problem of first world problems, & I feel somewhat guilty for being stressed out by something as luxurious as shopping for craft supplies.) Theoretically, I’m the exact demographic that the DD kits are marketed towards.
However, w/ how fraught the AE purchasing experience promises to be, I’m not even sure I want to bother looking at the product offerings tomorrow. Kits were initially heralded as a way to facilitate participation in the DD process by making everything *simpler*; however the current AE artificial scarcity model seems calibrated to add several additional layers of frustration/anxiety.

I really like the kits - love Liz’s again, but I have her last two years and a lot left still to use this year. Definitely want one of the chipboard sets (stars, circles, and square smaller set), the wood veneer # set and possibly one of the kits. Not sure set. The kids kit is just adorable - wish my girls were little again so they could make one with me. I do want a bit of the crate paper Christmas line - so pretty! Wish scrapbook . Com or paper issues would get it in soon. I have so much AE, SC, FJ and GB Christmas kits still so maybe just buy a little to mix in with what I have already. Using a FJ polka dot album and have acrylics pages that go with it.

I like both kits. Liz’s kit fits better with the supplies I already have, but I like the kind of 70s/ vintage vibe of the main kit. It’s going to be a game time decision for me. I definitely want an album and I don’t really care which one, and for the kits i’ll decide tomorrow. But I might wait until the digital templates and kits are available.

Someone added up the cost of everything they liked and it came out to $180 plus the $5 shipping -- $185! Yikes.
I did like quite a few things but the prices were too high so I will wait until she has a sale -- I am fine with waiting. Just keeping my spending to under $50. It will be interesting to see how well the products sell this year -- she has so many options!

I will likely only buy the mini kit for $20+ $5 shipping and supplement with the rest of my stash. I also have zero FOMO so I may not buy anything at all.

I have a problem with the out front statement saying essentially, if our software f's up again, we won't be responsible to reimburse you for the wrong number of items it dumped in your cart. She OBVIOUSLY has no clue what it was like to sit at the computer last year and the amazingly bizarre sequence of events that would have you end up with multiples of one item not only in your cart, but checked out. No, Ali/Inked, people did NOT want to order three of an item and then just change their minds, and YES, YOU are responsible for your software mess-ups, NOT your customers.
How in the world do they get away with these insane and probably illegal practices?
Sorry for the shouting, but this is completely wrong and I had to say it as it played in my head.

I'm underwhelmed with the main kit this year. Just sat through the video. I agree it's a good selection of embellishments but am not crazy about some of the colours. Plus US$50 for the kit would be NZ$75 and I just don't see the value there.

So far the Facebook group has convinced Ali to post the albums. I poorly stitched them into one photo to upload here. If she hopefully caves and gives photos of products I'll share here. But so far she sticking to they've shared them. Something they've never done before. 🙄 Because an hour long low quality ramble is a great way to showcase your cash cow

They get away with it because so many people continue to drink the DD (AE) Kool-aid, and just keep giving her a pass every.single.year when the order process becomes a major cluster fu*k. How many times do we hear "Oh, but her CS was so quick and so pleasant and so helpful!"? They wouldn't need their praises sung so loudly if their system didn't screw up to start with, but so many people just can't grasp that concept. Because they are pleasant it makes up for all the insanity trying to purchase products every year? I don't think so, but it seems a lot of people are OK with it.
