Who knew there was such a thing. I just saw that our library has kits which contain 8-12 copies and 1 discussion guide. You can check them out for 6 weeks. How awesome is that?

Yes, I was in a book club in MI about 13 years ago and our local library had lots of book kits.

Yes, ours does that, too. We've used it a few times, but now all but two of us read on Kindle. cadoodlebug - how is your new Kindle?

All of a sudden 4 books that I had holds on at the library came up. So I'm frantically trying to read them! Luckily one of them is a thriller that DH is reading right now. I did upload a couple of books to it so I'm getting the hang of it. Just have to make sure I have some really good books on it in September for our trip.

I think ours has this program, but I haven’t had time to check into it. And I don’t know enough people to form a book club. My co worker and I have very similar tastes in books, which is great! We share books all the time, and I try to read one she gave me within 2 books of my current. So, we can at least discuss the book when the 2nd of us is reading it.

I noticed that at our library too when I go there to use their 3D printer. It’s a great idea!

We have about 25 sets of Book Club kits. I’ve never used them, but think it’s a great idea.

Yes, it's awesome! Our small library is in a consortium of 35 libraries and has access to all their materials. I just checked and they have 317 titles. The kits include 15 books and a discussion guide. Many of them include a DVD, audio books, and large print, too.

I don't think either of the library systems I use have this. My town library is poor so they are doing good to have new books to check out. The other library system I use has many resources so this is something I could see them getting. We have a very active book club in one of the main city they serve with about 20 members. Our members have several library systems so we get our books from all over and know a year in advance what we are reading. I'm reading December's book now as I got it on the wait list for the library's ebooks.
