Confession time. I've been in Vegas the past few days. Home today. I didn't want to post that I was out of town. I'll tell you all about it when I have my keyboard.
What's on your menu?
Have a fantastic day.

It's been a fun week around here (not) since Kaitlyn had her wisdom teeth removed. I really had no idea how long the recovery process would be. Yikes!! She has been so swollen and the bruises have made their appearance. Apparently all 4 where impacted so it was quite an ordeal. The oral surgeon told me the bottom two were really difficult to remove. Today is the 4th day and she is still swollen but I think it is starting to lessen, either that or I'm getting used to seeing her that way.
We've been eating mashed potatoes, soup, and popsicles. Tonights dinner will probably be more of the same.
scrapmaven I hope you had a great time in Vegas.

BBQ ribs, with salad. Still doing easy meals, as it is still to hot to bother with anything else.

Vegas sounds fun!! To visit. I lived there for 5 years, not my favorite place to live. We ended up at Noodles & Co. last night. Maybe another night out tonight... I really have to get to the store and do some shopping. The place is bare of a lot of things. Oops!! Enjoy your last night on vacation, leannec.

Salmon for husband I will probably have some of meatballs I made last night.
Btw, BE WARNED! If you make the meatballs I made, your entire house will be covered in the sauce. Even the cats are sticky this morning.

I hope you had an amazing time, scrapmaven. Happy birthday to your mom, MontannieI have moved everything out of the kitchen, so that my DH and my sister can get the new flooring in place tomorrow, while I help my DN at the horse show (which is still 1,5 hours away, sigh). It is getting cooler here (we were out walking, I should have brought a jacket with me) so I made a roast, mashed potatoes and ratatouille (OK, the ratatouille was from the store, but I heated it myself). Completely forgot we have lemon sorbet in the freezer....I think there might be some chocolate ice cream somewhere as well. It's not too late for dessert, even though dinner was four hours ago, is it?

Apparently the responsible adults in my household are tired of making decisions. When dh asked me what I wanted my response was “do we really have to do this again?” There will be green beans because we forgot about them all week and they have to be cooked. Other than that it’s anyone’s guess. scrapmaven I hope you had a blast in Vegas. leannec I’m sorry your vacation is ending. Montannie happy birthday to your mom!

Earlier in the week I thawed out too much ham and too much cooked chicken for what I ended up making those nights and the amounts left are not enough to use on their own. Since they were previously frozen, I couldn't just toss them back in the freezer and I didn't want to throw either one out, so I'm making chicken cordon bleu casserole and I'll serve it with roasted vegetables. I hope you were there for enjoyment and had a good time and that you were not for medical reasons, scrapmaven. I'm sorry your vacation has come to an end, leannec. The Birdhouse Lady, I'm sorry Kaitlyn is having a difficult time and it's taking a long time to heal. Happy 93rd Birthday to your mom, Montannie! tuesdaysgone, I didn't say it on yesterday's thread, but you come up with some clever and fun ways to get children interested in reading. Keep up the good work! @megmc, how is little boo too doing?

Happy birthday to your mom, Montannie! Eat the dessert, miominmio! I hope it was a great show that brought you to Vegas in the August heat, scrapmaven! I have no idea what is for dinner here. There is ground beef in the fridge, but I'm thinking it will get tossed in the freezer and I'll pick up sushi when running errands this afternoon.

In our house it’s never too late for dessert miominmio 😃 Not in my house either. In fact, dh has a medication he takes before bed. The instructions say to "take it with, or shortly after a meal", which in dh's language means "take them with, or shortly after eating dessert". And yes, he's the same man that blames potatoes for his extra weight.

Tonight is DS1's last night at home before we take him back to college for his sophomore year. I feel super lucky he's only about 45 minutes away. We don't see him more than every 3-4 weeks but if we NEED to, we can So we're having a home cooked meal even though I'd really like to go out! lol I'm making a turkey breast, mashed potatoes, corn, salad and maybe peach cobbler. Or we might call the rest of the family and meet for ice cream.

What happens in Vegas stays in Vegas scrapmaven 🎶🎤🎛💊 😉 Why isn't there a stripper pole emoji? After work getting a mani at my friends salon then we are going out to dinner and maybe a movie is the timing works. I have to remember to have her follow me to the auto shop and drop off my POS Tahoe so they can tell me what organ I need to sell to pay for the repairs.

PolarGreen12 How well I understand your pain! On Monday my Altima goes back to the shop again. We are walking that fine balance between breaking down and getting a new car (gross, car payments again) OR keep putting repair money into this one. Hopefully, this fix (and it's an expensive one) will get this car at least one more year of life. The plan is to begin to look for a new car next summer. We drive our cars to the bitter end. DH's truck is 17 years old and running well; my car is 11 years old and not doing well.
One successful day of school done. I had 6 classes come thru the library today to check out books.
Dinner will be bourbon salmon and corn for DH. I'm not hungry now, so I'll see what sounds good in a couple hours.

I do not want a car payment either, but i have been thinking I was going to bite the bullet and buy a new or newer suv in January. If this fix is more than $250 which I'm sure it will be, then I'm just selling it as is and stealing my Dads truck till then. He cant drive and hasn't driven for almost 4 years. The damn thing is a 2014 with only 4000 miles on it. So I'll just "lease" it from him and then I can take my time finding something after the first of the year.

Our beloved Trixie Bender has done it again with her prowess in creating deliciousness from disparate ingredients. Or, in plain English, Hot Darn, girl! I would not ever think to put the chicken with the ham, but you done gone and done it just fine and dandy! I, too, have an ancient car so I won't be able to drive to her house to dine on the cordon bloooooooooo, so we are having broiled halibut with a fun sauce on top, broccoli, and a baked potato with all the trimmings, but not cordon BLEU or Sacre Bleu! And, arrows of surprise for all of us as we did not know our leader was away, especially in America's Greatest Lit Up City At Night! scrapmaven - the tribe wishes to tell you that you can go anywhere you please, for cryin' out loud, goll darn it, but you must always return to us. Yep. Thanks for the thread. We await the news of your visit there.
