We tried a highly-touted, cute little Indian place for the first time. We tried 4 different curries. It was good, but not as good as another place we've been. The owners were SO sweet and fun to chat with.
They highly recommended their homemade ice cream and were SO excited for us to try it. It's made with saffron and pistachio (interesting combo, eh?) We WANTED to love it as much as they said we would, but.......nope! We ate most of the ice cream because I didn't wanna hurt their feelers* (yes, I wrote "feeleRs" instead of "feelings" on
porpoise** ) .....my friend says that allll the time, so I picked it up from her).
** Re: the word-play (purpose / porpoise). My family and I do this all the time; we're silly and wayyyy too entertained by playing with words.
@megmc .....I'm so sorry about Boo !!!
Montannie ......Happy Birthday to your Mom!
PolarGreen12 ....Your repair stress is NOT funny, and you have my empathy, but I LOL over you saying "
which organ I'll have to sell to pay for repairs." Ugh, I have been there and done
that back in my single days. It was awful how much my stupid car put me into debt!
Trixie Bender ......I like the creativity of using the ham and chicken leftovers. I've made chicken cordon bleu in the past, and it can be tricky and fall apart. Next time I should make a casserole version like you did.
I would like to invite myself over to
Kerri W 's for peach cobbler, then make my way over to
lucyg 's for banana cream pie!
The Birdhouse Lady ......I'm sorry Kaitlyn's having such a rough recovery!

I'll never forget the "horror stories"
people told me about wisdom teeth removal; I was sooo afraid! My sister's must've been impacted like Kaitlyn's, because she had the swelling, pain, and bruising. It turned out I was one of those verrry blessed people who had NO problems at all. I remember my surgeon was VERY hot.....when I woke up, I was still verrry "happppy" from the anesthesia.

I looked at him all dreamily** and when he told me he was all done, I was amazed how fast it had seemed, and never had pain!
**Uh-oh, memories of my HOT oral surgeon just reminded me of our recent posts about "Brady Bunch"

when
Marsha was smitten with her dentist, Dr. Vogel---"he's so DREAMY!" And, I may be wrong, but didn't she
call herself "Mrs. Marsha DENTIST" ?
scrapmaven ...... I, along with the rest of our tribe, am tryyyying to be patient while waiting to hear about
your trip, annnnd, hoping you had FUN !!! As someone else said, I hope it was NOT for something medical.
Also, someone mentioned the HEAT

My friends went one time in August and said the heat was UN-bearable!!!
(and unlike me, these friends LOVE summer time, so I was surprised that they were so uncomfy!)
And, on that subject---we went to Hoover Dam and Vegas in NOVEMBER, and WHOA! It was veryyy warm then, too!

A very kind lady at one of the snack shops at Hoover Dam was concerned about my Dad, warning us that a few
elderly people had been treated that day for heat stroke

.....in NOVEMBER.
Lookie what I found! ("Murphy's Law" that we just HAPPENED to be there on that
ONE day!
(from google):
[Nearly every November day warms to over 50 °F (10 °C) in Las Vegas. The city averages 1 day in November when the thermometer reaches into the 80s °F (over 26 °C).Isn't that WEIRD !?!? If only they could tell visitors WHICH day it's gonna be!
