I can just imagine his panic when he realised it wasn’t rubbing off!

Cute mural, but I am a little skeptical. If he just "snuck down" and drew it, why was there video of him drawing it? Why was there video of the other guy discovering it? Why was every step of the process documented? Maybe it was one of the reenactments like on the true crime shows?

.......so I went down and had a squiz.......” I wonder if that is a peculiarly Aussie phrase? Yes. I have never heard anyone else use it, and I get strange looks if I use it with English speakers from other countries.

I had a lot of trouble understanding the guy. He was speaking English but it was hard to understand for sure lol. Such an adorable story!

I think it is quite Aussie. Means to look at something Ha...yes...I am in South Australia so I did know that...I had just never thought of “squiz” as a peculiarly Aussie word It is amazing what you don't realise is peculiarly Aussie until you regularly speak with people who either speak a different version of English, or people who speak English as a second language. Since moving to Germany, most of the other English speakers I encounter are either British or American, and with where I work, I speak with many people from all over the world who have English as one of their languages. I have learned to be very careful with my word choice. I didn't ever realise that 'fortnight' is mainly used by British, Aussie and Kiwi English speakers, until a Canadian friend looked at me all weird when I said it.
