Good morning. I think we were posting at the same time. I don't have a recipe for you, I do want to wish you good morning. I'll cut and paste from the other thread.
It's back to work for this household. That means cooking tonight. I will be making buttermilk fried chicken and homemade shoestring potatoes with a veggie. Time to go outside and see what's ready in the garden.
What's on your menu?
sueg, thinking of you today. By now you're likely home from radiation. How'd it go? May you rest comfortably tonight.
Have a peaceful day everyone.

I used to make biscuits and gravy for my ex but I never had a recipe.
We’re having bbq chicken breasts that I precooked yesterday with some nice seasoning. Dh will add sauce when he grills them. We also have leftover potato salad I made. There will be green beans and cauliflower as well since I need to eat better. I’m eliminating my daily chocolate from my diet 😕

I went shopping this weekend so we have food in the house. Now I just need to plan for dinners!! I do have to stop at grocery for the couple of items I did forget (like bread!) and I will also pick up some pasta sauce and noodles. I will make spaghetti with meatballs tonight. We did a lot of stuff inside this weekend, just didn't want to go outside, too hot and humid. We rearranged the living room and cleaned as we went around the room, hung a bunch of pictures and made a dog dish holder for Jax (we had made one for Piper when we first got her, now it was Jax's turn now that he has finished growing). I stained that last night after SO cut everything and sanded. I will poly it tonight and tomorrow we can put it together. He will be so happy not to have to chase his dish around anymore. LOL Hope all went well today sueg .

We’re having breakfast for dinner.
We’re in currently the middle of one house renovation project that’s now turned into two.... sigh 😔
We’re replacing the stair spindles with glass panels, so that means the hall stairs and landing needed painting, walls and trim, 11 doors to gloss paint ☹️ plus new carpet, and replace the white boring radiator with a modern graphite grey one.
We also decided not to have carpet in the dining room so have laid a solid oak floor, papered a feature wall and painted the other walls and trim. We’re doing it all ourselves, and all of my house is a tip, and needs a good clean. The glass panels are coming this week and I’ve not been able to find a reasonably priced carpet I like.
Sorry for the moan, my Hubby is an absolute star 🌟 but I’m fed up now - thanks for listening

BF is smoking a NY roast, whatever that is. So we'll likely have that for company tonight. I made a green bean salad yesterday, in addition to coleslaw, so we'll round out the meal with that.
My fancy mom wanted Wendy's chili for her birthday! Sure easy to grant that wish.

Dinner here tonight was grilled marinated chicken (the package said 'Texas' marinade, and it was sort of smoky/BBQ) with grilled potato and sweet potato and a green salad.
My radiation went well. Today it took nearly 30 minutes, to get me marked up and position all the machines. It will be quicker after this. My only problem is my left arm (surgery was on left side) - after 30 minutes lying there with both arms above my head, it is slightly achy. I now have my schedule for the rest of my treatments, including an appointment with my doctor at this clinic after my final session.

sueg Thinking of you today! Glad that your treatment went well! Like christine58 , our heat index is going to be over 100 here today; so we are waiting until tonight to go food shopping. I already have pasta made for my boys. So I think I am going to make chicken and add fruit, zucchini and also salad from our yard. Tomorrow my girlfriends that grew up next door to me are coming for a visit. I am really happy! So for the next few nights, I may go out to dinner with them and leave the boys to fend for themselves.

Glad that it went (reasonably) well today, sueg. The heatwave is definitely over here; this morning it was 7C outside. Still no rain, though, but at least I'm not melting anymore. Dinner? DH bought some smoked pork chops the other day, so we had those with leftover mashed potatoes and broccoli. And since I have more apples than I can use (even after giving away a lot to my mom, BIL and MIL) I made Apple pie for DH.

I'm going to try making fried rice with the leftover brown rice and turkey breast and remaining veggies tonight. Not sure how that will go. I finally have the boy in my custody after **10 days** with his dad, who just laughed when I complained. sueg, I found six weeks of radiation pretty easy to deal with overall, especially after six months of chemo. I did end up with damaged skin, though. You might want to talk to the pharmacist (chemist?) about heavy-duty burn care. Not this minute so much ... it's the cumulative effect of daily radiation.

Probably grilled turkey medallions with a cucumber salad.
I have sausage but no peppers and I’m not in the mood for bratwurst

Busy morning ~ took my walk, ate breakfast, showered, went to chiropractor, headed to Costco when I realized I left my card at home, drove back home to get said card, go to Costco, come home and now I'm Peaing for a few seconds before I eat my lunch and head off to a podiatry appointment. Phew, I'm ready for a nap! Dinner will be chicken divan.

It's really hot here. It was 93 the last I checked and we had a busy weekend trying to catch up on chores. Bless my DH's heart because he is really trying to take care of everything with me having chemo. Anyhoo, we are tired and hot so I will be making up some tuna fish salad and a fruit salad for supper tonight. Easy peasy and won't heat up the kitchen

I WANT to make General Tso's chicken, veggie lo mein, and crab rangoon. I was looking at recipes, thinking how much healthier I could make these dishes as opposed to restaurants. The one thing deterring me from cooking is that I don't wanna go out in the heat to the grocery store right now. Have any of you made crab rangoon? Any tips are appreciated! destined2bmom ....I'm so happy for you to see your dear childhood friends! scrapmaven ......I read about your trip to Vegas; I'm so glad you had fun! OMG, wasn't "Love" just the best !??! Did you and DH see all the guys walking around the lobby dressed as police ("bobbies") before the show? DH and I took my Dad, and he had fun chatting and making jokes in his faux English accent with them. My Dad is such a ham and as my sister says: "he LOVES to have an audience!" scrappert ....That's so cool that you made doggie dishes for your babies! I'm actually surprised DH hasn't done that, because he's built so many other cool things. One example-- he designed and built their doggie door and stairs into a window. It's very nice looking and blends into the living room, plus, the stain he used on the wood is so pretty. sueg .....(( hugs )) You made it through your first treatment! ~Susan~ ...(( hugs )) All of you that are fighting cancer are in my prayers. JoP .....Your reno sounds exhausting, but SO pretty! Also, I liked your expression "my house is a tip". I google a lot of expressions I'm not familiar with, but I could tell what " a tip" meant because of the context. I've mentioned on other threads that I LOVE to learn regional vernacular, and I also LOVE* English accents! *I grew up with a fun Dad who can imitate ANY accent, but the one he uses the most is English (same as me!).I've also recently found SO MANY good British (and a few Australian) shows in Netflix, and not only LOVE the accents, but learning SO MANY new words (daft, brilliant, and I love how you say "theatre" instead of "Operating Room" , etc).
