It arrived yesterday. I haven't had time to read through the directions yet, but it looks like there may be some amount of learning curve. Tomorrow I am going to try a simple casserole recipe from the booklet that came with it. Later in the week I think I'd like to try making Burning Feather's Italian Beef in it. Need help from experienced pressure cooker cooks... Would I just follow the directions/cooking time for beef roast that are in the manual? I'm worried about possibly messing up a nice roast since this is so new to me.
Otherwise, I'm excited to have it and give it a try. Did anyone else get theirs?

Mine is here too! It is very pretty. . I'll give it a spin next week sometime. It is hard to ruin meat in a pressure cooker - just follow the time in the manual. I usually cook a 3 lb brisket at high pressure for 50 minutes and then use natural release for the pressure. Tender!

Mine came day before yesterday! I am in love with it! I already made Barbecue Beef Tips in it - so quick and easy and the steak was super tender. Here's the recipe - it was a hit for the whole family. I served it with mashed potatoes and salad.
1 Tbsp veg. oil 1 lb sirloin steak, cubed 1 sweet onion, diced 1-1/4 cups Sweet Baby Ray's BBQ sauce 1/4 cup water
With the lid off, heat oil on the "brown" setting until sizzling. Place steak and onion in cooker and cook until the steak is lightly browned, about 5 minutes. Add the BBQ sauce and water and stir.
Lock the lid and set for 15 minutes on high.
After the 15 minutes is up, let the pressure release naturally for 10 minutes before performing a quick release.

I got mine and I'm trying to figure out what to make. That BBQ beef sounds like a good first recipe, thanks for posting it!

That recipe sounds delicious, [HASH]annemd. I gave my cooker a workout yesterday too! DH decided at the last minute to drive to pickup DD from university for the weekend, rather than her take the train, so I didn't have much notice to make her a care package. I made a big batch of Chili, and a batch or hamburger soup....and the pressure cooker allowed me to finish it all and have it packed away in individual servings in a matter of 2 hours! This way he delivered it to her to put in the freezer! She's a happy camper.....

Mine came a few days ago and I've already made mac-n-cheese and beef stew. Both recipes came from Pinterest.

Which one are we getting this time? I have the one touted a couple years ago - still unused. QVC had one as the daily value last week for $65. It comes in 8 different colors and doubles as a 6 qt. slow cooker. I bought it even though I already have a Cuisinart one because I use that one so much that I wanted a second one. You our should use yours - electric pressure cookers are amazing!

Which one was the TSV? I'd been waiting for a special price - I can't believe I missed it last week.

it is now only available in turquoise, which is really pretty, but is only $5 more expensive than when it was the TSV and still has the easy pay option. It also has a rice cooker function too. I bought it in cobalt, which matches my Kitchenaid mixer.

Elaine is a huge enabler. Lol. Mine arrived a few days ago. I finally unpacked it yesterday and read the instructions. I will give it a try Sunday. I am going to make a chicken dish that is in the cookbook that came with it.

P.s. Everyone, don't forget to download the manual and the Tips and Tricks PDFs from the QVC page in the link above for the pressure cooker, . The reviews so far look good for the cooker, but time will tell. One tip is to always first sear/brown your roasts before pressure cooking them - I always do that with roasts and brisket and even chicken pieces sometimes - the carmelized outer layer of meat is flavorful and keeps the flavor in. One woman complained that her pork roast was flavorless and tasted steamed - I will bet that she didn't brown it first.

I love how we can do the browning right there in the cooker - quick and less clean-up! I have the turquoise one and it really is a pretty color.
Tonight I'm making Mongolian Beef in mine for dinner and serving with egg rolls and salad. I love that I can start the rice on the stove top, put the egg rolls in the oven and cook the main meal in the pressure cooker and dinner is done in 20 minutes!

I've got the macaroni and beef recipe from the book it came with cooking as we speak. I hope it's good and that I doing this right!
I also like how you can brown meats/veggies in it. Does anyone know if there's a function to secure the bowl while stirring? I just held it with an oven mitt while I was breaking up the beef. That works fine, obviously, but I wonder if I am missing something.
One more minute until I release the steam. Wish me luck! LOL.

We just finished eating (we eat fast here, LOL). It was decent. I would have preferred the pasta to be just a bit more al dente, but it was good. It's just a very basic, homemade hamburger-helper comfort food recipe. Definitely stir in some shredded cheddar cheese once you have it in your bowl.
My dh pointed put that I make a turkey chili Mac that is better than this, and I am now wishing I would have tried that! The cooking method would have been pretty much the same. Later on this fall, for sure.

I bought one on Tuesday and made pork chops in it Wednesday. I seasoned and browned them but I still thought they tasted bland and boiled. I'm not a fan of crockpot meals and this just seemed like a crockpot meal only a lot quicker to cook. I'm not very eager to even try cooking in it again.

My mom bought one too! She never buys things on TV but her friend got her into watched some QVC or whatever show it is. She bought that and a foot scrubber thing that is like the ped egg but with batteries. She needs some recipes and a lesson on using her pressure cooker. She hasn't used it yet.

If you want to cook meat in it, I wouldn't go for smaller than a 6 qt. You can't fill a pressure cooker more than 4/5s full, unlike a slow cooker, and 4 qt would be fairly small. If your main thing would be rice and beans, or two chicken breasts at a time, 4 qts might be okay.

For those with the QVC Pressure cooker, did you remove the labels from the top of the pressure cooker? The one with the instructions about turning the pressure limiting valve and other warnings? I am not sure how hot they get and if this will be a problem. Since I am new to using a pressure cooker, I would like to leave these in place for now until I learn my way around it. I like having some instructions right in front of me.
I am going to use it for the first time in a couple of hours. Ack!!!! LOL

The Mongolian Beef I made last night was excellent! Here is that recipe: 2 lb flank steak, cut in 1/4 inch strips 1 tbsp oil 4 cloves garlic minced 1/2 cup soy sauce 1/2 cup water 2/3 cup dark brown sugar 1/2 tsp minced fresh ginger 2 Tbsp cornstarch 3 Tbsp water 3 green onions, sliced in 1-inch pieces Season beef with salt and pepper. Put oil in pot and select "brown." When sizzling, brown meat in batches and transfer to a plate when browned. Add garlic to pot and sauté 1 minute. (I also sliced an onion and sautéed it with the garlic because I love onions!). Add soy sauce, 1/2 cup water, brown sugar, and ginger. Stir to combine. Add back in the browned beef and any accumulated juices. Set timer for 12 minutes and cook! When cooker is done, turn it off and use a quick pressure release. When valve drops remove the lid. Combine the cornstarch and 3 Tbsp water whisking until smooth. Add cornstarch mixture to sauce in pot, stirring constantly. Set on "brown" and bring to a boil, stirring, until sauce thickens. Stir in green onions. Recipe from www.pressurecookingtoday.com

Wow! Well, I'm impressed. This cooker came up to pressure much quicker than my Cuisinart and is quieter. The Cuisinart leaks some steam and rattles a bit while it is coming up to pressure, this was silent- I wasn't sure it was really working. But it did beautifully. My chicken breasts when from half thawed to cooked in 20 minutes.
I didn't do anything fancy since it is a new appliance. I just browned the chicken breasts in a skillet for about 3 minutes on each side and then put them in the cooker with 2 cups of chicken broth, 1 teaspoon each of onion and garlic powder, and 1/4 cup of the bottled Thai peanut sauce I was using. I used the chicken setting on the cooker, which is 20 minutes and then quick release. I took the breasts out, coated with more bottled peanut sauce, and browned for a couple of minutes under the broiler, but I could have skipped that. I served on a bed of basmati rice drizzled with peanut sauce and broccoli on the side. No leftovers, much to the dog's dismay!
