Drink it cold, use a straw, suck on a lemon when the taste gets to you. If you are allowed with your mixture, mix it with crystal light lemonade (instructions can vary). Make sure you stay hydrated drinking all they tell you to.
If you think you need to pass gas only do that in the bathroom. Use vaseline often in that area to prevent soreness. Get yourself some magazines.
The prep is the worst part! Oh also regarding iv's some will try to put it in the back of your hand as it's easiest. For me it's ultra painful there so I always insist on my arm. Afterwards know you will need to eat a light meal and take it easy for the day.

I don't have any colonoscopy advice. However, regarding the heartburn, have you tried giving up processed carbs? That worked well for me.

I've been eating low carb for a few months and my (occasional) heartburn has disappeared - as well as my migraines!!
Dh had a colonoscopy and still says its the best sleep he ever had lol..good luck, I need to have one also..
