So I know I do this to myself because I keep buying from them, but of all the online ordering and subscribing I do, why do I only have issues with Cocoa Daisy?
I've come to terms with the subscription-only policy and being able to buy leftover kits ONLY IF my timing is perfect when they release product and I sacrifice my first born child. But now, even when the gods smile and I can place an order, 5 days later I get a message that, oh by the way, the 12x12 kit I purchased wasn't really in stock after all, but they shipped the two little things I bought (first class mail) for the $10 shipping I paid for the whole order.
It's my own fault. Last time something like this happened I was charged $13.95 shipping for a 5 oz package and I swore I'd learned my lesson, but then they had to go and feature owls and suckered me back in. DD has worked rehabilitating owls for years now so I have a ton of owl photos to scrap, but I guess it won't be with CD products.
Okay, whine over. Thanks for letting me vent.

Doesn't it? Ironically, in all the years I subscribed to SC, I was one of the lucky ones and never had issues like this.

I would demand a shipping adjustment and if they refused, I would go to my bank or cc company.

I’ve had bad experiences with them too. I recently bought kits in their moving sale and they sent me an incorrect kit. And the one I had ordered was sold out so I couldn’t buy it a second time. I basically sent a bitchy email and Mary Kay found one of the kits I had ordered and sent it to me. I figured that was enough interaction with them. I’m a sucker for moons, and I love the moon kits but no way am I trying to get any of it. I hope they make this right for you.

Good to hear you got a shipping adjustment. That seems reasonable. Still, it's disappointing not to get the kit when you thought it was available. I just don't understand how inventory can be oversold with an automated system.
I subscribe to the CD Pocket Kit and the Add-On. Occasionally I add some washi to my order. Usually that's the only thing I want that's still in stock anyway. I really wish they had some other little extras to buy. There are cute items in the other kits, but I'm not going to pay for an entire kit just to get them. The website makes it nearly impossible to browse and find old items.
Their rigid structure is sometimes frustrating. I love the kits. So many companies have closed. Maybe CD has found a way to stay in business and keep their cash flow and inventory under control.

I don't like the rigid structure either, which is one of the reasons I unsubscribed. Also the massive increase in international shipping charges. Not being able to add little extras to the parcel from time to time also makes the shipping seem more expensive - and I wasn't prepared to sign up to the embellishment kit sight unseen each month - just too much of a risk. It's a shame because I did enjoy my kits.

Currently I am subscribing, the international shipping is a nightmare and I did unsubscribe to the pl and the scrap kit when it went that high, I did however resign up to the pl because I just really love the kits and I dint think there are any others like them. But I also hate the rigid structure

I just wish they could find some other shipping options. I hate the thought of spending the same amount on shipping as for the kit each month.

What I said was: what’s nice is communicating with the customer before the box ships and adjusting shipping accordingly.

Unless that card has a nice coupon code on the back I'd be pissed to get that card. I guess ripping that bunny into pieces might make it feel better, but an email when the kits ship with price adjustments and an apology would be better.
Or maybe kit companies could invest in some good software to keep accurate counts of what they have?

I'm with you AmandaA. I have never liked those wonky characters since she started incorporating them. Just weird.

I saw that, too, coincidentally right after this thread started. Really, how does that make things better? Sometimes the business practices of this industry leave me shaking my head.

Exactly oaksong everyone says support women business owners. Well I would if they would stop acting like mean girls posting passive aggressive bullshit like this.

If they know enough to include the hipster rabbit card they know they should adjust the shipping and whatever. It wouldn’t surprise me if they did that on purpose because some people will just suck it up and not ask for a refund, especially if the process is convoluted.
