Peter Alexander... “Just handed top Trump communications officials a printed copy of NYT op-ed. They say it’s the first they’re seeing it. I’ve requested WH comment. They’re huddled in Sarah Sanders office now.” Oh I can’t wait for this response from the White House.. I can predict what they’ll say: fake news, NYT made it up. And that will be that.

No matter who wrote it, they are at a point where just trying to dissuade him is not enough. He is dividing the country, alienating allies and foreign dignitaries, allowing his family to be a part of something they never should be...ever, and getting richer in office. They are ignoring the bigger picture...conspiracy, treason and the election he STOLE. That itself should be their first concern. Giving him a pacifier isn't the answer..removing his crazy, criminal ass is. I am very skeptical about who wrote that...if they had true integrity, they would have had the balls to do it with their name attached!

This makes me incredibly angry. Do these folks, who have sworn to defend and protect the United States, not have any obligation to act decisively when they perceive a clear and present danger? Doing their best to steer the toddler away from the cliff is not ultimately as effective as removing the toddler from the area of the cliff entirely. Honestly I hope everyone who has enabled this moron, including the moron himself, sees the inside of a prison cell. This is insanity. I agree. Not invoking the 25th to avoid a constitutional crisis? Folks...we are pretty well there!! Might as well push us on in to the fire and let's start taking care of this shit! But whoever this is is proud of their agenda and what it's truly about is party over country. Always will be with this bunch.

linkWell this from the New York Times Opinion page ought to really set off trump I Am Part of the Resistance Inside the Trump Administration
From the article... I work for the president but like-minded colleagues and I have vowed to thwart parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations. The Times today is taking the rare step of publishing an anonymous Op-Ed essay. We have done so at the request of the author, a senior official in the Trump administration whose identity is known to us and whose job would be jeopardized by its disclosure. We believe publishing this essay anonymously is the only way to deliver an important perspective to our readers. We invite you to submit a question about the essay or our vetting process here.
President Trump is facing a test to his presidency unlike any faced by a modern American leader. It’s not just that the special counsel looms large. Or that the country is bitterly divided over Mr. Trump’s leadership. Or even that his party might well lose the House to an opposition hellbent on his downfall. The dilemma — which he does not fully grasp — is that many of the senior officials in his own administration are working diligently from within to frustrate parts of his agenda and his worst inclinations. I would know. I am one of them. To be clear, ours is not the popular “resistance” of the left. We want the administration to succeed and think that many of its policies have already made America safer and more prosperous. But we believe our first duty is to this country, and the president continues to act in a manner that is detrimental to the health of our republic.” You can read the rest of the op ed if you find this interesting. I’ve linked it. I wonder how more of these op Ed’s and books like Woodward’s before it will push him over the edge. This makes me incredibly angry. Do these folks, who have sworn to defend and protect the United States, not have any obligation to act decisively when they perceive a clear and present danger? I didn’t see this here before I posted on the specific thread about this... I agree with your post 100%

Does Lindsey Graham confuse anyone else? Or is it just me? Sometimes he says things that make me like him, but then he turns around and seems to change his tune so quickly that I just don't know what to think! He is on CNN now defending Trump. He is wrong...it DOES matter that he has made an about face regarding Trump. Whether he is doing that because he thinks his own base likes Trump or not, does he not care about his own integrity? That goes for all of them, not just him. But something about him seems really genuine at times, so I think that is why I don't know what to think about him.

imsirius it is blank for me here and on Twitter. What did it say? it's a Pool Report of President Trump's response to a question from peter Alexander about the anonymous NYT op-ed piece: "We have somebody in what I call the failing New York Times talking about he's part of the resistance within the Trump administration. This is what we have to deal with. And you know, the dishonest media, because (turning to the sheriffs) you people have to deal with it as well as I do, it's really a disgrace. I will say this: nobody has done what this administration has done in terms of getting things passed, in terms of getting things through." Trump then reached into his jacket pocket to pull out some papers. "An article was just printed, just came out a few minutes ago. 'Trump breaks the record for budget gridlock wins, scores big win.' For 20 years, it's a 20-year record, for 20 years they called it the fouled-up budget gridlock, and 'scores big wins.'" Trump then ran through a litany of points seeking to highlight his administration's economic success, to occasional applause from the assembled sheriffs. "Nobody has ever done in less than a two-year period what we've done. So when you tell me about some anonymous source within the administration, probably who's failing, and who's probably here for all the wrong reasons. No. And the New York Times is failing. If I weren't here I believe the New York Times probably wouldn't even exist. Someday when I'm not president, which hopefully will be in about six and a half years, the New York Times, CNN and all of those phony media outlets will be out of business, folks, they'll be out of business, because there'll be nothing to write and there'll be nothing of interest. So nobody has done what this administration has done. And I agree, it's different from an agenda that's much different from ours, and it's certainly not [turning to the sheriffs] your agenda, that I can tell you. It's about open borders, it's about letting people flee into our country, it's about disaster in crime for our country. So they don't like Donald Trump and I don't like them because they're very dishonest people. Remember this also about the New York Times: When I won, they were forced to apologize to their subscribers. They wrote a letter of apology, it was the first time anybody's ever done it, because they covered the election incorrectly. So if the failing New York Times has an anonymous editorial, can you believe it, anonymous, meaning gutless, a gutless editorial. We're doing a great job. The poll numbers are through the roof, our poll numbers are great, and guess what? Nobody's going to come even close to beating me in 2020, because of what we've done. We've done more than anybody ever thought possible, in it's not even two years. So thank you very much." ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Man, it's tough to even TYPE the way he speaks, it's so jumbled and stream-of-consciousness. <iframe width="19.920000000000073" height="3.0600000000000023" style="position: absolute; width: 19.92px; height: 3.06px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_50602522" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="19.920000000000073" height="3.0600000000000023" style="position: absolute; width: 19.92px; height: 3.06px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1440px; top: -5px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_28700068" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="19.920000000000073" height="3.0600000000000023" style="position: absolute; width: 19.92px; height: 3.06px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 15px; top: 95px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_37616093" scrolling="no"></iframe> <iframe width="19.920000000000073" height="3.0600000000000023" style="position: absolute; width: 19.92px; height: 3.06px; z-index: -9999; border-style: none; left: 1440px; top: 95px;" id="MoatPxIOPT0_32924857" scrolling="no"></iframe>

But I agree with Trump about one thing: this op-ed writer is gutless. He/she should be willing to do something rather than saying, oh, we know there's a problem, but we're going along with it because tax cuts and SCOTUS. There are several Republican senators sitting on the gutless bench, too. They know this presidency is dangerous and they're not doing anything. History will judge them harshly.

Too bad we can't change the channel, or get his show cancelled, already.

Yes Congress is involved. VP and majority of heads of principles of executive branch would have to declare to speaker of house and President proterm of senate that he’s unfit - if President states no incapacity exists (which we all know he would) 2/3 of BOTH house and senate would need to declare him incapacitated.

I know, right? I read on the twitter thread that the article he pulled out of his pocket, the one that he was quoting, quite possibly doesn't even exist. Someone apparently googled a few of the different phrases he supposedly 'read' from it, and they didn't get any hits to come up. but that hasn't been proven [yet].

the Times must, for National Security purposes... turn the person over for National SECURITY purposes?!? For having an opinion? I didn't see anything truly classified spelled out in that Op-Ed piece. He really DOES think he's a king, doesn't he?!? 'off with his head!' (here we can make ourselves feel a bit better by picturing Trump dressed like the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland...)
