Quick question with regards to immunity for information on a criminal:
If the information given is false or untrue, immunity is revoked, correct? So if the information given about Trump proves to be untrue, then Trump is in the clear and the guy given immunity will be charged with a crime (or crimes)?

So if the information given about Trump proves to be untrue, then Trump is in the clear and the guy given immunity will be charged with a crime (or crimes)? I think that is generally a condition of the immunity deal. However, I’m not sure “how” true it has to be—substantially? 100%? More true than not? I’m also not sure what the standard of proof for truthfulness is. At what point does the prosecution say “truth isn’t truth” and revoked the deal?

Maybe we will get to see his income tax...just for grins now as we’ve always known he was/is a crook! It would actually only take one Senator to obtain his taxes. According to Politio, there was a law passed in 1924 that addresses concerns about conflict of interest. The House Ways and Means Committee, the Senate finance Committee and the Joint Committee on Taxation have the right to obtain any person's tax returns, without his consent and to conduct an investigation. If there is a legitimate purpose, the committee may then release the tax information to Congress for potential disclosure to the public. The Republicans only hold a one vote majority in the Finance Committee, which means that by consent of a single Republican, would be enough to authorize committee action, unilaterally and without the rest of Congress. Orin Hatch is currently the Finance Committee chair, which also includes Republicans Grassley of Iowas, Portman of Ohio, Toomey of PA, and Tim Scott of SC. Mueller's ability to obtain Agent Oranges taxes are limited in scope due to the terms of his appointment. If just one of those five Republicans would develop a spine, and said, "let's get to bottom of whether the President is in any way beholden to Russia or Putin, then maybe we could start moving forward toward the answers we all need. In addition, if it was done now, instead of after the midterm elections, it would avoid the accusations of legitimacy of the action. Just one Republican to stand up and say "let's put this to rest'........ Think we will find any takers??

How accurate is the Daily Wire out of DC? Is it one of those spoof sites, or is it a credible news site? RIGHT BIAS These media sources are moderately to strongly biased toward conservative causes through story selection and/or political affiliation. They may utilize strong loaded words (wording that attempts to influence an audience by using appeal to emotion or stereotypes), publish misleading reports and omit reporting of information that may damage conservative per MEdia Bias check.

Regading Pence:
How, in all his 'Christian Conscious" can he stand by and support that train rack of a President? How can he reckon his Christian beliefs, with the lying, serial philandering crook?
If he just once, said, "I agree with the message but not the delivery', then at least he shows some courage. It's not like Agent Orange can fire him, and it may make some inroads with the more moderate republicans.

Unlike Trump, Pence plans. I also think that by the time Pence COULD take over, the Dems will probably have more control and Pence won't be able to do as much damage. Then again, I didn't see Trump winning either.

So if the information given about Trump proves to be untrue, then Trump is in the clear and the guy given immunity will be charged with a crime (or crimes)? Yes, immunity can be rescinded. Immunity is simply a contract. Both sides agree on terms and sign it, and both sides are bound by that contract. If the witness reneges by knowingly and willfully lying thereafter, the contract can be nullified. An immunity agreement will always have some verbiage about it, usually, “immunity does not extend to any false or misleading information,” or something very similar to that. If the witness perjures himself he can be prosecuted.

The soybean farmers need to speak up LOUD and CLEAR for all the to hear! And every other industry should too! We common folks cannot know all the exact prices. We know how much the final store prices are, but not how little the farmer/manufacturer gets. When our store prices go up we think the farmers are being paid more too.

Coal miner: Trump's 'false promises' will 'only line the pockets' of executivesBy Jamie Ehrlich, CNN Updated 3:59 PM ET, Thu August 23, 2018 Washington (CNN)A fifth-generation coal miner from Virginia has spoken out against President Donald Trump's rhetoric surrounding the coal mining industry, saying the President is making "false promises that are only going to line the pockets of coal executives."In a New York Times op-ed video published Tuesday, Nick Mullins, a ninth-generation Appalachian from Virginia, said that if Trump wants to help the Appalachian mining communities that support him, "lowering emission standards is not the way to do it." At this year's State of the Union address, Trump talked about ending "the war on beautiful, clean coal." Mullins says "coal cannot be clean," and that miners know firsthand. "We have to realize that the environmental impacts of the industry aren't a partisan issue," he said. "They're a matter of life or death."On Tuesday, the newly proposed Affordable Clean Energy Rule was announced, which would allow states to set their own emission standards for coal-fueled power plants. Throughout his campaign and presidency, Trump has lauded his plan to replace the Obama administration's climate change policies with rules and regulations that would be more friendly toward the coal industry. The Obama administration's Clean Power Plan made greenhouse gas emissions federally regulated for the first time. www.cnn.com/2018/08/23/politics/coal-miner-trump-nyt-oped/A coal miner who seems to know the truth! And has been vocal.

So, how does it work in the US if a sitting senator dies (or quits mid-term)? Does the party get to replace them, or does the seat go to a special election? I am not sure every state does it the same way. I think the governor or maybe the party picks someone to sit. If it is the governor in some states that could be an issue IF the governor is of a different party... Then yes, there would end up being a special election in his state Some states have special elections; in many states, the governor appoints a new senator* who serves until the next scheduled general election (2020 for Senator McCain). Arizona is one of the few states where the governor must appoint somebody form the party of the departed senator. Arizona has a Republican governor, anyway.
*Fun Fact: In Illinois, where our governors often retire to prison, impeached Governor Rod Blagojevich is currently cooling his heels in federal prison for, among other convictions, trying to sell Barack Obama’s vacated senate seat. (Mr. Obama had gotten a promotion.)

That's gone around before, but IIRC I remember reading something at the time that refuted it. Can't remember details now of course, I'll dig around and see if I can find my previous source. Not that it would surprise me if it were true, in the least. What really kills me is knowing how that knowledge would have torpedoed Hillary or Barack. Who is our NYC pea that always knows details of his life there? @bergdorfblonde?

Daniel Dale...
“Trump on elites: "It's like insulting. 'The elite.' I'm much more elite than any of them. So are you. We're much more elite. We're smarter, we're richer, we're better educated, in most cases." He says some of the so-called elites as like "slob" guys.”
This really bugs trump that liberals are called “elitist” and tha he t is not considered an “elitist”.
Paul Waldman says it better...
“This isn't the first time he's done this riff. He doesn't get that his resentment of elites and that of blue-collar workers are not at all the same thing.
Trump wants acceptance from the elites, so they finally acknowledge he's one of them. For his voters that's irrelevant. /1
That's why when he does this the crowd gets puzzled. They're like, "Wait, I'm not richer and better educated than the elites. What is he talking about?" Trump is incapable of speaking from anything other than his own perspective. /2“

Somewhere in between. It is conservative but not intended to be a spoof. But that article is really more of a fundraiser than any information, right? And call me a cynic but the people most likely to donate to that fund would not be conservatives, so why would they donate to a conservative leaning journalist? The dc Daily Wire isn't the same as the conservative Daily Wire that Ben Shapiro writes for. It seems that the dc Daily Wire reports on" hot topics" on what's going on out there from both sides and links to the original source they are reporting about. In the report about Mike Pence, they are are just reporting that The Democratic Coalition is investigating and gives out the link to their website where you can contribute.
