I dug out some shaped eyelets (remember those?) for my most recent layout...bang, bang, bang! And of course they are crooked but crooked they will stay.
Remembering why brads were such a HUGE deal...so much easier!

I just set an eyelet too! Just a boring round one and it's all mis-shapen too. I have the Silent Setter so no banging. And, I just bought a bunch of brads the other day lol! I need them to go through my Photo Turns

Cool! I kept a bunch of them but I have no idea where they hide now.

I have a crap ton of eyelets in all kinds of sizes, shapes and colors. Eyelets, brads and buttons each have a separate drawer in my jetmax cubes. I was way more of a collector/shopper for many years. I have stupid amounts of ribbon and fibers as well. It’s insane.
Anyway, I tried to set some snaps yesterday and it was an epic failure. I have a Cropodile and it just doesn’t work as well as the old eyelet setter and hammer! I don’t have any of the old tools anymore. I also have the silent setter but gave that away too. In my defense I didn’t buy the Cropodile or the silent setter.

I LOVE my Cropodile for hole punching and use it all the time but I've never been very successful using it for eyelet setting. I picked up a old (but complete and like new) MM tools set at a yard sale a while back and that's what I use for the eyelets.

I never used the shaped eyelets but I bought a lot of them. My favorite were the gingerbread men...I may have to pull those out and make gift tags with them this year💝

i think i still have my making memories silent setter (or whatever it was called) but if so i can't find it. i was actually searching on ebay recently and found one. not sure what i'm thinking, i don't have any eyelets since i gave them all away years ago. for whatever reason i'm on a kick of loving really old stuff though. i did find some from the eyelet outlet called quicklets that you don't need a setter to use; might have to break down and get some. and then we need a challenge for eyelets, otherwise i'll never use them

I remember buying some larger ones at an Expo years ago. I had about 4 or 5 jars full of them. I use them on a rare occasion.

I recently bought a set of ALL of them (photo turns, brads, eyelets, etc.) from Hobby Lobby... I'm a sucker for 'sets' of things- there's something like 350 in the package, in copper, tarnished bronze, gold, and silver tones. I took them with me to the 4-day retreat I attended, and then forgot to take my set of tools- so no hammering!! (I still have my original MM set of tools from back in the day... hoarding does pay off sometimes)
(that doesn't mean I couldn't have used any of the brads, of course, but for some reason I didn't even open the package- probably the same reason I got rid of all my brads to begin with- just forget about them- lol.)

The crocodile does not do a good job other than to make holes. I don’t understand why people like it so much. I have an old eyelet setter that works much better. Also have many, many both shaped eyelets AND shaped brads still !

i love my crocodile for setting eyelets! It works best on the softer meta eyelets like doodlebug but works on others for me as well. I purged a bunch of eyelets but kept a small amount of all the ones I liked and have been trying to use them more often.

Still love eyelets, too! I don't like how my crop-o-dile splits the back of my eyelets, so I use my trusty old-school Making Memories hammer. 🤣 Last crop that I set eyelets at, I hammered on the floor under my folding table. 😬

I use my Cropadile, too! I use eyelets in tags pretty often - I like that it reinforces the hole for ribbon/string.
It would be better not to have the split that the Cropadile makes on the reverse side, but it's not worth going back to the hammer-and-setter scene - so LOUD, and half the time I'd end up smashing the eyelet all out of shape!

I have a bead box full of eyelets, and pull it out from time to time. I like to use them on tags, or to string twine through on mats or pages.
I usually use my Crop-o-dial, but sometimes pull out my mm hammer and setting tools. I used to have a system for setting larger decorative ones (they had a special name???) but haven’t seen it lately.

I never got into eyelets, but I LOVE brads and continue to use them. I was very happy to see them on aliexpress and the wish app.

I love eyelets! I don’t use them a ton, but when I do, I go for impact and use a bunch on one layout. Really making them a design element. I’ve sometimes had to ration them out, because I couldn’t find them locally.
