Not every adult woman wants to be a princess or referred to as a girl or babe. This drives me so crazy. What drives you crazy about scrapbook lines?

I wish there was more we/our vs I/mine.
Like "Our baby girl" instead of "My baby girl".
Also it always seems to be either Grandma or Grandpa and not Grandparents.

It's always the same for me-all the pink. I love pink in clothes, purses, fingernail polish and make-up but I just dislike it scrapbooking lines.

Everything ends up looking the same and contains lots of random things like zebras, unicorns, llamas etc.

I really liked the Case of the Blahs embellishments from Pinkfresh. It had a tired/frustrated theme. I don't like the "best day ever" stuff over and over again.
Also, a lot of lines don't have enough blue in them for me. It's not as unused as purple but I always find myself scouring my stash for more blue stuff.

I'm tired of random stuff and so much pink.
I would love to see more basics -stuff that can be used for anyone and everyone - dots and plaids and stripes and tone-on-tone in a wide variety of colours - brights, darks, pastels, primaries...with coordinating embellishments

Everything ends up looking the same and contains lots of random things like zebras, unicorns, llamas etc. I'd like to think I'm not too picky, but the random animals in collections drives me crazy! It's just not my style. I don't want birds, llamas, peacocks, bunnies, pandas, zebras, horses, tigers, etc. all over my pages. Other than the animals, I can't think of anything, but let's just say the animal thing annoys me enough to make up for it.

Definitely too much best day ever. Someone needs to do 'that day sucked' stuff!

What drives me crazy: Water/Summer themes that are very beach-centric (as someone who lives smack-dab in the middle of the US this is a big annoyance).
Most Holiday collections--Easter is too glittery & pastel, Halloween is either too gory or too cutesy.
Having the best patterns on the same 2-sided sheet.
Sports lines with too much "All-Star", "Champion", "Best____Ever"...I have a some-what talented sports enthusiast, but even I can't seem to use all of that for him, much less my youngest who is not so talented.
Zoo lines that are either too cutesy or have too many animals that are not exactly common (i.e. pandas, hippos, even elephants).

The heavily-gendered scrapbook lines drive me crazy. Not all girls are into pink, princesses, rainbows, art, or unicorns. Not all boys are tough, dirty, or into dinosaurs, robots, or trains. I have a very girly girl, but she loves science, legos, trains, and playing hard. Why can't there be more kid lines that mix these elements together in primary colors for the kid who wants to have it all or be it all?

I love all those classic patterns that are so versatile. Even some florals are fine. I have a few old sheets of Scenic Route in these patterns that I’m hoarding for that perfect LO (you know, the one you never make!) I also get annoyed at how many ranges don’t use nice clean whites, but something more 'shabby' instead. Especially in Christmas ranges. Every year I look for pps with bright reds, greens and WHITE, and every year I am disappointed. Doodlebug did one many years ago that was red, green, white and maybe some black. No pinks, no blues. Just perfect Christmas colours in spots, stripes, snowflakes, Paisley, a grid check, and possibly a plaid too. It was gorgeous!

I do buy the boys lines for my daughter but the stickers/cards that say his/boy/he etc... aren't usable. I would love gender neutral lines that reflect the fact that CHILDREN like science, Lego, video games, trains, robots, dinosaurs, sports, art, dressing up etc...in a variety of colours that doesn't pigeon hole girls into pink/purple and boys into blue/green

I also prefer a crisp white although I'll settle for a true cream...that shabby white is impossible to match with other whites ime

Water/Summer themes that are very beach-centric Yes - and often very pink/orange/yellow also. I don't mind a beach theme but for summer in general I would like it to work for all ages and genders and a range of activities. Most Holiday collections--Easter is too glittery & pastel, Halloween is either too gory or too cutesy. I would love to see more sophisticated Easter and Hallowe'en themes also. Having the best patterns on the same 2-sided sheet. YES! Sports lines with too much "All-Star", "Champion", "Best____Ever"...I have a some-what talented sports enthusiast, but even I can't seem to use all of that for him, much less my youngest who is not so talented. YES! and the school ones also - I have academically inclined kids and even I can't use all the A+, Best Ever and First Day of School stuff up -I want more generic school stuff - that can be used for concerts, plays, field trips, field days, classroom parties, all the events parents get to actually TAKE pictures of. And sports also - I scrap pickup games MUCH more than tournaments. Zoo lines that are either too cutesy or have too many animals that are not exactly common (i.e. pandas, hippos, even elephants). YES - and in natural colours please and without the punny phrases

I'm just starting on my school scrapping journey, but I've noticed so much repetition already in the few supplies I've bought. Most of the supplies are really geared toward elementary school kids too, which works for me now, but it won't for long.

My wish is for a generic sports line. One that could be used for various sports. I LOVED Theresa Collins royal, red, black and white one, years ago. Although what I would really love is a volleyball line that isn't black and white or aqua. How many school volleyball teams are aqua?

Constant flow of prints and embellishments that have such a little kid/juvenile/cartoon feel to them. Example: Adult birthdays for the last three months, all older than 40 and nothing age appropriate out there for older than a thirteen year old. Thank goodness for my explore and many years old stash of lovely paper that I can adapt to whatever them I need. Same with a lot of the holiday stuff this year-too juvenile/cartoon. I am thankful for my stash!

I am thankful for my stash! yes, this! either stuff is really juvenile and/or cartoonish, very elegant/formal, or overly shabby/vintage heritage w. distressing. The companies don't seem to realize there would be a market for middle-of-the-road versatile colors and prints. And why is it that 'vintage quirky' is still stuck in the 1950s? As much as I personally like the quirkiness of the 1950s-feeling vibe (I'm thinking Steven Duncan's Carta Bella paper, or the Authentique Saucy line), why can't mfrs and designers come up with icons that are contemporary and fun? People who look at my scrapbooks later are going to wonder why the heck I'm scrapping pics from 2018 with images from the 1950s.

Pretty much all of the above, especially the constant children’s themes. Not every scrapper is a parent or grandparent and some of us are documenting adult lives. I’d like to see ‘grown up’ papers and embellishments for birthdays, holidays, anniversaries, etc.

Pink isn't everyone's favorite color, we can't have the "Best Day Ever!" everyday. Sometimes kids are just average or dare I say it? Below average. NOT top grad, top of the class, straight A's, kind of student. How about I can't believe you graduated! You didn't get drunk ingesting hand sanitizer! Or first temp job and they wanted to keep you longer! It's a miracle! Those ones might be a bit too specific.
I've also never learned why Hello is included in so many lines. FTR, I tend to be a themed scrapper (not popular, I know). I have a hard time finding how to use random icons like tacos, unicorns, and pineapples unless I see a page I can relate to.

I'm probably going to buy more embellishment packs. I'm the type of scrapper who usually buys on clearance and I'm happy with whatever! I even bought the stamp set with this one.
What drives me crazy: Water/Summer themes that are very beach-centric (as someone who lives smack-dab in the middle of the US this is a big annoyance). YES! Like our warm weather friends that get annoyed with snowy Christmas lines, I'm annoyed by beach lines!
No more paper with faux-inked edges or aged-looking either!! No!!!!!!!!!! I do like it in some lines!

I do have a bit of a vintage 50's vibe going on with the few decorations in my home. I'm stocking up as much as possible, because it probably won't last! I'm mostly saving these types of things for doing a recipe album.

Seems a lot of us are tired of themes that pigeon hole us into traditional gender roles be it for ourselves or for children. It would be interesting to see a brand get beyond sterotyped themes that people find more relatable.

I’m personally exhausted with the majority of the people depicted on crafting supplies is for one ethnic group. Yet, diverse ethnic groups purchase crafting materials and are crafters and artists. Just as gender roles pigeon hole groups, not seeing yourself or your family reflected in a group that you identify with is absolutely ridiculous at this point. When a company does that, it’s micro aggression: “Oh, we really didn’t make this for people who look like you.” It also obviously depicts that there is a lack of ethnic diversity within the company with designers, etc. We’re here too!

I agree. Sometimes on this board I think we get an echo effect where we all chime in on a certain topic that we can't believe the industry hasn't picked up on, like 9x12 albums or no more pink. In reality, it's the same 20-40 people saying this each time. While our market definitely deserves to be catered to, it's important to remember that this board isn't representative of everyone, so just because something is popular here doesn't mean it's the reality for the whole world of papercrafting. Companies have to make products that will sell to a wide audience, not just 10%. This is even more true as the pool of scrapbookers has become smaller. I don't say any of this to criticize, because I think this board is a great outlet for those ideas and complaints! I think sometimes we just need to remember that our board isn't representative of the scrapbooking population.

NO PINK in Christmas paper. I want real red, pine green, and white. I am sick of pink in Christmas papers rather than traditional Christmas colors. When everyone dresses in red and/or green,, but the patterned papers have pink rather prominently instead of just a good Christmas red, I am disappointed and grumpy.
