I could almost cry. I canceled my subscription a few weeks ago when I was moving because I knew I wouldn't be able to afford it any longer. I didn't realize I would lose all my credit. I saw my balance at $0 today and immediately read through the policies and it's clearly stated. Stupid me. I should have used it all up before I canceled. That's a tough lesson to learn. "As an active subscription is required to use subscription credits, any available credit balance will be immediately removed as well." I know there's much worse things in the world but geez...$50.

I am sorry. That does stink. However, if they charged you for it, but did not refund what you paid (or pro-rated it), perhaps you can get some resolution through chatting with their customer service? I would try, anyway.

Oh man. That stinks. Right now I'm sitting here with $27 in credit, they are having a sale and I have *zero* time to sit and go through 1,000's of designs. Ugh. That will teach me to build a "Wish List" for the next time they have a sale. I'm bummed about that, so I can imagine how irritated I'd be if I'd lost $50! That's a lot of designs you could buy.

nicolep That bites! Try contacting them and tell them you didn't know you would lose your existing credit. They may fix it for you. It doesn't hurt to try.

That's outrageous. I know you said that the policy clearly states this, but I don't think it's legal. That's probably why they extend your credit for 30 days if you complain. Honestly, this policy sounds illegal to me. If you've paid for something, the company has to honor it. That's one of the reasons I won't buy into any of their subscriptions.

Ugh!! I hope it works out.
If that's the policy I feel like there should be a warning as you cancel - "you will lose any credits owing if you press this button - are you sure?" kind of thing.

Oh my gosh. I am emailing them!! Thanks you guys. I'll keep you posted. If you email, you may not hear back from them till the sale is over. I recommend the chat option, so you can hopefully get your credits restored in time to take advantage of the half off sale, which ends midnight on Aug. 31st, mountain time. They are not available on the weekend, and I think chat is only available till 5 p.m. mountain time.

I haven't used a subscription or credits, but I thought credits were money you had already put in with your own money? That seems terribly wrong to take all of it, even if say you'd bought $20 of credit for $15 or something. I hope you can recover some of it

I have this ongoing thing with Silhouette as they claim that anything I buy using my pre-paid credits is FREE. No, it isn't. I've paid for it already. (Sorry, I've said that before but I just have to get it off my chest <g>) nicolep don't bother about emailing them, get on the chat line and speak to someone who can do something there and then. $50 is not small change.....

I totally agree - It's not free. On the Sil site I don't have a sub, I use a pre-paid card. When I put something in my cart it says free. It's not free, it's a reduction in my pre-paid balance. I have the same problem with other subscriptions too. (I'm talking to you Audible!)
