Here's my take on the sketch - I rotated it so the big triangle was a Christmas tree! I'm wondering if I should add another circle inside or outside of the red circle (using green). What do you think?

Wow MDscrapaholic amazing! Is the circle Nuvos? It looks fab! I was wondering whether to add another circle to mine too! I think you could add another, it would look great but it also looks wonderful as it is and I think sometimes it's best to leave it as is rather than running the risk of messing it up. I love the triangle as a Christmas tree, great idea!

woodysbetty I love that background paper for this challenge. I really like the stripy layers behind your photo too. kiwigirl Love that you shrunk the design down, and of course that circle of nuvos!

Love that Christmas page, MDscrapaholic! Great idea to use the triangle for a Christmas tree! That’s what I love about sketches: every one is good for at least 4 interpretations as you rotate it. I love the contrast between the red dots and the green pp. Great summer page, kitbop. Winter will be here long before we are ready. Love your monster pp in there.

I admit, I'm really struggling with this one. It's those darn triangles. MDscrapaholic , I love how you used yours as a Christmas tree - Genius! Chinagirl828 and woodysbetty , your triangles are big enough to establish your background - I could maybe do that, hmmm. kitbop and crystalb , your bold triangles makes so much sense since your photos are all about excitement. JaneB , to me, yours reflect the geometry in the box grammadee , yours remind me of big fluffy pillows. LisaDV , I love how yours are just thin outlines, and Linda and kiwigirl, I like your solutions best! - just leave 'em off I'm just not sure yet about what photos to use yet or what to do with that triangle, but I'm loving all the inspiration!

kiwigirl I love your take on this sketch! I was going to ask where you got the mask, but as @mdscrapholic mentioned dinner plates I have some that could be used instead lol.

Thank you grammadee , woodysbetty and MDscrapaholic ! I just eyeballed that and freehanded it. It worked quite well I though. Total poppycock! I have a mask with circles of dots, so I put a pencil mark where my dots needed to go lol! So glad I bought that mask, I think it was quite expensive back in the day but it's priceless! Cool mask! I thought you put a plate down and just dotted around it! I really don't think they would come out so good if I used a plate. But I once did use a plate as a mask and sprayed ink over the top to get a circle, and wow, the effect it left was amazing! I will see if I can find a pic..... found it! The white is white Dylusions spray and it looked so awesome! It all dribbled down the sides of the plate and made a thick white band which was so cool. I wanged it up picking the plate up (under the title where the arrows are) so if you try this, let it dry before picking up the plate. Then I did a circle of Nuvos inside it of course But the plate with mist/spray was so cool!

kitbop I love your LO! Amazing work! Your circle looks fab, I can't go to flickr and see it cause it wants me to login so I can't make out what it's made of but it looks great! I love your title and the papers and embellishments, I just love your style chickadee, you rock!!! stinkerbelle you rock too! You've rocked that horrible sodding AmyT paper better than I ever did lol! I love the dots & stars circle and how you've layered everything, they are fabulous photos too, the LO definitely does them justice, great work!

Here is my layout for the first sketch. For some reason the triangles made me think of adventure so I documented one of our trips. Dots are in the paper and the nuvo drops.

Yes, that's me writing in guest book at dgd wedding across the river from nasa which we could see from our house and a memory table for her brother who we all miss very much. I probably should do some hidden journaling on that page. The dgs whose book it's in will not need it, but I will probably do it anyway. He was in charge of taking pics for the book. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.

I'm sorry grammadee, but I couldn't deal with that triangle either. Chevrons are almost triangles, right? And I got 3 photos and the big circle on there!

This started out this morning with another large triangle and several circles. As the day went on, the circles weren't working so were changed into eggs. The other triangle was then too much. Not sure I really like this. It's busier than I usually do. Hardly looks like the sketch anymore, but it started that way. The Hunt

Love the soft colours of those chevrons, msliz . Is that a Nuvo circle? And the eggs are much more suited to this page than circles would have been nylene . Glad you each found something about this sketch that appealed to you. It's nice to try something new, but in the end, you gotta be YOU!

Here's my take on this sketch twelve days on!
I'm working on a mini album about the transition from summer into autumn. It's 4x5 so I have to really boil and simmer most sketches down to make it work in my minimalist aesthetic on such a small scale.
The big circle is the flower pot in the background on the photo. The triangle element was woven into the spread by how I disposed the word strips. The twist (dots) is the acetate overlay with white dots that works like an insert over the journaled page. Lyrics from Ben Howard's Small Things from his album that has been on repeat these past few weeks.

Right side (with transparency overlay):
grammadee If this is too far off the original sketch in terms of inspiration, do let me know for the point count.

sleepingbooty, I think it is an ingenious way to represent the sketch! Beautiful photography. The flower pot is the perfect circle. Love the triangle made with journaling strips! Thanks for playing!
