I posted before about how my best friend and I do a yrly sb retreat, and unfortunately the sb stores that hold them keep going under. UGH. So I think we are going to start doing our own. Stay in a hotel for the wkend, and scrap. We would like to do it in a town that HAS a sb store though, so if we need supplies we can run over and get some. SOoo...what towns in MN still have sb stores?
St cloud has crafts direct. Brainerd's just closed. Duluth??? Moorhead would be too far for my friend, but they still have a store, right?

I don't know of any that have not been mentioned in previous threads. You would think that the Twin Cities Metro would be able to support at least one LSS.

If you check out Pine City Scrapbookers they actually do weekend retreats in their store. I haven't been to a retreat there, but I did get a tour when I went shopping. I asked about Crafters Direct to see if it was still open and worth the extra 2 hour drive. But I don't know how to find my post again, lol. Tracy  |

Pine City would be the easiest since people can stay right on site where the store is and everyone can book the weekend on their own without having to reserve the whole place.
Another option would be the Silver Bullet Studio in Apple Valley. I think it has space for ten scrappers but that would only work for a Friday evening or Saturday day crops. Jan has a small but nice selection of supplies on site as well.
Crafts Direct is still open, in fact they are having their anniversary sale right now. I'm not sure where you would stay near there though because I'm not from the area, but maybe someone closer could chime in? It's a really nice store, like Pine City. Either are well worth the drive, but they are a bit of a haul from the metro area.
Oh, and there is Anchor Paper in Roseville too. There are several hotels not too far from there off of I-35 W or I-694.

They are actually a paper supply place for print shops, but they also have a retail section in the front of the store where they have stamping, scrapping and paper crafting supplies. The store in Roseville isn't all that big. They have a couple aisles of scrapping paper and coordinating stickers, a pretty nice selection of thin dies and stamps, and a lot of different kinds and colors of stamp pads and ribbon. They kind of cater to people making DIY wedding invitations. Since they are a paper place, they have loads of cardstock in different sizes, colors and finishes and many of their papers have matching envelopes in several sizes. It's probably worth a visit if you haven't ever been and if it's not too far for you to drive. It's not in the same league as Crafts Direct or Pine City but they probably would have what someone needed if they were scrapping and needed some paper or an adhesive refill. |

My vote would be a hotel in St Cloud with access to Crafts Direct. They have tons of supplies. There are lots of hotels and restaurants in St Cloud.

Oh, I forgot about K & Krafts. I haven't been to Moorhead in ages. Usually we are just passing through on the way to Billings.
