Here is the sketch challenge for September 5. I found this sketch through Scrapbook Generation's 2016 National Scrapbook Day festivities. I loved the overall design of it, and that you could easily transform it into a one page layout if you wanted. (That link takes you to the website so you can download the PDF if you'd like. It is free.) Screen Shot 2018-09-04 at 9.45.38 PM by Penny{scraps}, on Flickr Here is my sample of it. This is a layout about moving into a new neighborhood. IMG_7380 by Penny{scraps}, on Flickr And the TWIST: For day 5, your twist will be to include a doily somewhere on your layout. Please link your take on this sketch with or without the twist in this thread. Can't wait to see what you come up with! If you are a September Team player, check out how you can earn points for this in the September Team Challenges. If you are not a team member, that's fine, too. Just join in for the fun of it! Because SKETCHember only comes once a year!

Awesome sketch, pennyscraps! And I LOVE your take on it! Those colours are so rich, and just the perfect contrast to make your photos pop against them!

I'm looking forward to having a bash at this one, love your example pennyscraps, lovely autumn colours and I adore those banners at the top, so sweet! I know what I'm gonna do already but I'm going to golf now so I'll be back in a few hours and probably too knackered to do anything!

love the sketch - your example layout is gorgeous - I love how you managed to use ALL those patterns and have it look cohesive not busy.
the twist - boy, you're trying to make it hard...I have no doilies, I have no dies for doilies....I guess I'll have to dig out my laptop(I think it's somewhere in DD11's room), add my ancient SCAL to it and get my Cricut up and running again (I rearranged my corner a while back and the USB cord for the Cricut no longer reaches my computer....

Linda I have so many doilies and would happily send you a selection for your stash if you want? PM me your address and I'll pop some over to you no problem. I am sure pennyscraps will be the same as me and hate someone missing out because they don't have an item for a twist. If it was me who had set this challenge and someone didn't have a doily, I would be happy for you to use anything else instead, tissue paper, hand doodle a scalloped shape, maybe a piece of lace instead? Honestly, I would be happy for anyone to come up with something that fits for them and use that instead of the twist rather than miss out and I'm sure all the hosts are the same And if you want a few doilies for any future challenges I will happily send a selection, I even have some cute little coloured ones

kiwigirl - I appreciate the offer - I'm just whining, lol. I've found the laptop and I'm going to see if I can't get the Cricut working to CUT a doily. Honestly the challenges are pushing me out my box and that's good. Yesterday I even sewed!

Honestly the challenges are pushing me out my box and that's good. Yesterday I even sewed! If the Cricut doesn't play ball then definitely do whatever works for you. I mean I would be happy if you cut a circle and used that in place, none of us would ever want someone to miss out It's hard to come up with twists for sure. I kept wanting to say 'use Nuvos' for mine and then kept thinking, not every owns them (freaks, FREAKS!!!!!!)

I was hoping to finish my LO for this sketch today. Don’t have any doilies with me, but thought I could just grab one of the million I have at home and slip it in later. Didn’t really have the perfect match for my photos, but was ready to make do...
Then I discovered that one of the photos I wanted to put on my FEED ME pages has not been printed yet!!!. Three strikes and I am out. Will get back to this next week after I get home.
Four other pages completed today, so it’s all good!

well...I had to simplify the sketch a bit for my smaller canvas and it's taken me the better part of a day to do it but... and my enamal dots are actually the same colour as the green doily and strips but the scanner doesn't like dots

Great sketch pennyscraps and I love your page. I turn them into Photoshop templates before I do anything with them and the Scrapbook Generation ones always take me a while because they have so much on them! I went with a card, reducing the size of page 2 to fit. I used two PL cards from Ali Edwards' Light and then Shabby Princess for everything else. I did draw the arrow, so I can say "I made this!" And after watching a Kelly Latevola video during lunch I was inspired to do a light grey shadow around the word yes to make it pop a bit more.

Again, some serious switching to make this work. 11x8 using up a bunch of paper that someone gave me. Can't believe I have no doilies in my stash right now...or at least can't find them. dgd wedding in her brother's album. Her step grandfather (with her other dgm) who is pictured here passed away just a few weeks after the wedding. So glad we got these pics and that he made it to the wedding.

When stinkerbelle said Simple Stories for the manufacturer this month I did think oh, I won't be able to do that one cause I don't have any. And then I stumbled across some in a random bag of papers! So I've combined sketch #5 and challenge #48 for this one. Claiming 17 for this, 1 for a LO, 1 for sharing, 5 for sketch + twist (there's 2 doilies under my photo, a yellow and a pink one), #3, #4, #7, #12, #22, #31, #46, #48, #49 and Sept Stash Challenge - washi, something from last purchase, handwriting and a pre-made title. @elaynef great work, I love your heritage style papers, they're perfect and that little floral heart wreath is perfection there!

I snuck a little bit of doily there on the left! Tough to do that on a manly layout!! I loved using this sketch!

pennyscraps I love the colour combo and how all the pieces lead up to the house paper. Linda I love the cute space paper and the doily is the perfect touch. @elaynef love the floral background papers. kiwigirl these are such happy, fun colours. Love the multi coloured nuvo borders. MDscrapaholic sweet page! I love the pops of colour in the dinosaurs with the soft blues. msliz love the background paper and the green twill. I really like how you've incorporated the patterned blocks by flipping them horizontally. KelleeM great job getting the doily on a masculine page! He is seriously talented, I love those bird houses, and your embellishments are perfect.

I really love this sketch!! I am a fan of double page LOs with multiple photos so this was right up my alley. I am going to save it as a template because I can see myself using it again for sure. I used "A Fresh Start" kit by Kimeric Kreations.
