Have you tried them? What do you think?

I have a couple. The new design takes some getting used to at first. And, until you have opened them a few times, they are a bit stiff. By the fifth or sixth time opening, they were fine.
My biggest issue was the stamp pad storage I use (Stamp N Storage). Since they are shorter than the old pads, they would slip to the back of the holder. Stamp N Storage now sells spacers to remedy this and I bought some but who wants to spend money on wood when you could use it for stamps?
Another pet peeve of mine is that they are tougher to pull out of the holder since they no longer have an indent in the front.

I have some small pads that would slip to the back like that. I just found some round wooden clothespins in my stash (probably cheap at the craft store) and stuck those in the back. Or any small blocky thing would work. I was actually just thinking about the styrofam block things that come in some packages. I wonder if that could be cut down to work.

Oh I remember those little 2 inch long, 3/4 inch square firm foam thingies. Still have a few in my drawer - were those from embossing folder packages? Another cheap alternative is to accordian fold a strip of cardstock. Here's a link where Organize More showed how it was done, you can just adapt the measurements for the stamp and storage slots. www.organizemore.com/blogs/news/81658689-distress-ink-pad-spacer-kit

I saw my SU demonstrator a few weeks ago and she mentioned the new pads. I didn't know that they were changing them again (I could have sworn they just revamped them recently). She hadn't tried them yet. I'm tempted to buy a few just to see how I like the changes.

I am so over SU stamp pads. I found that the last ink formula change they did made a lot of the pads too juicy and had pads that leaked. After years of struggling with trying to open them, getting ink all over my hands, having them fall apart and constantly pinching myself when trying to close them, I packed up all my SU pads and starting buying other brands. I also loved the fact I can buy the smaller ink spot pads in those colors I want that make it easier to ink up stamps in a stamp positioner. SU pads have gotten pretty expensive and I like being able to buy smaller pads and can afford twice as many colors. I donated all my SU pads after 6 months as I did not miss them one iota.
Still, when they announced the new SU pads, I was tempted. However, in all the intro videos I could find, every single person who was demoing them seemed to have a hard time opening them smoothly. They appeared to be really hard or jerky to open and close. I decided not to even bother with them. Maybe I just don't know what I am missing, but I am happy with my decision.
