Here is a two page sketch from Grand Diva's creative corner: sketchtember #15 by Gramma Dee, on Flickr And here is my take on it: First Day by Gramma Dee, on Flickr The TWIST is to use PLAID somewhere on your creation. If you don't have any plaid paper, you can create the look with washi tape. Here is a short Tutorial on how you can do this. The tutorial is for a canvas, but it can be done with cs: I have done it on a card front. I will figure out the points for these pages in the morning. Have fun!

Now this will be a challenge! I honestly don't think I have any plaid! Also, I hate it I am wondering if I may have some in collection packs, I'll have to get looking. Surely I have some on the back of a paper eh? Love your LO grammadee, the plaid totally suits your photos and the lacing. I love the bunting banner and the little pile of books and schoolbag, how perfect is that! Love the stars too

A lovely sketch and your pages are great! I love the plaid and dots in navy and green. You hate plaid kiwigirl? I don't like all plaid but some are lovely. I'm off out dog-hunting with DH and MIL today, maybe I'll have some photos I can use....

I'm with you kiwigirl, definitely not a fan of plaid. grammadee love the little laced detail and the plaid looks great here (still don't plan on buying any though )

great sketch - I love 2-page, multi-photo sketches and I have some more Halloween photos that should work for this...not sure I have any plaid in colours that'll work though. I love the greens and blues of your layout grammadee - and that laced shoe is adorable

The shoe-lacing detal is so fun (and so is the sketch), grammadee! Oh, I'm so happy with today's twist. Perfect for the Christmas mini I'm working on. Yay!
Here's my 4x5 mini album spread take on the sketch (I had to simplify quite a bit but that's a given with double-page sketches):
"Le colis" (The parcel) about another Christmas tradition my mother and I have: we send a parcel to my aunt who lives abroad. I'll stick a small square photo on the right page's address lines and ask my mother use her handwriting to write her sister's name down on the second "To:" line of the left page.

I started with the right hand side of the sketch for this page. And look - plaid! (thank you b sides!).

I did it too, left hand side for me. I can't stand this LO, I liked it when I just had the papers and picture on but then when I started embellishing, I lost the love I'm making it small so you can't see it very well hahaha! And there is plaid on there.... Taking 22 for this one. 1 for a LO, 1 for sharing, 5 for sketch + twist, #3, #4, #7, #9, #12#, #15, #21, #31, #32, #33, #37, #40 + BONUS, #42 and Sept Stash Challenge - washi & handwriting.

sleepingbooty -love it - that plaid is so christmassy! kiwigirl - I love yours with the bright colours on black -sorry you're not feeling it. Chinagirl828 - love the lacing and the soft colours! Here's mine - not sure if grammadee will take gingham as plaid?

Loving everyone's takes! sleepingbooty, that plaid is GORGEOUS! Love the contrast between it and the postcard. Love all the little details, too. This is going to be a fun DD to fill in and a beautiful one to share once it is completed. Love the subtle strips of plaid, Chinagirl828, and the twine on the envelope. Will comment in more detail in the Gallery. Plaid buttons/brads, kiwigirl: great way to get around the twist, and I happen to like the look with all your other colours and patterns on the black. I have often said my scrapping style is to pile stuff on until I hate it, and that may have happened to you here. It actually looks lovely. Hope you learn to love it again! The gingham looks pretty plaid-y to me, Linda: claim your points! Love the flair (is that what that circle is?) and the little bits and different shapes to break up this linear design. And the contrast of that green grass with the black/orange really makes your photos pop. Outdoor Halloween photos for us usually have snow or the black/brown of dead grass and dirt.

Thanks grammadee - circle is just pop-dotted punched circle of PP. It's usually still HOT here for Hallowe'en

Here’s my take. That flamingo didn’t photograph well, he’s actually gold. I used plaid ribbon for the twist.

Love it, KelleeM! Using the ribbon as the tied/laced element is perfect, and I like how you used it to sneak in the plaid, as well!

Now this will be a challenge! I honestly don't think I have any plaid! Also, I hate it kiwigirl, I bet you could weave yourself a perfectly amazing plaid from bright paper strips, and throw it on a black background. I know you can rock a plaid. It just has to be the right one!

Surely I have some on the back of a paper eh? I am 99.9% sure that I have a ton of plaid in an old paper pack circa 1998! If I can’t find any plaid in any of my digi kits at least I’ll be able to scan it!

kiwigirl I'm sorry you hate your page, it's a terrible feeling. I love how you snuck the plaid in though, and I really love the idea of all the mismatched brads lined up (which I should totally do since I have a gazillion brads pulled out this month so I can remember to actually use some of them). Linda I love how light and airy this feels thanks to the gingham. The title tag is really cute too. KelleeM gorgeous mix of colours and patterns and I love your clusters.

Well, I was surprised when I started going through my kits just how much plaid was in there! I stopped looking before I even got halfway through my kits and decided on this one, because I love the colours and I'd been hanging out to use it. The kit is 'Let It Snow' by Neia Scraps Designs.

YES! Got it DONE! This one was challenging for me, mainly because I didn't want to do another 2 pager at the moment. I was going to go with the left side of the sketch...but didn't feel that captured what stuck out the most...the gap in the papers and the lacing between. And I'm really glad I made myself try it. I also found a Halloween plaid to use And SHAPED EYELETS! DONE! layout slightly psycho halloween by kirstendrew, on Flickr
