I have a frozen shoulder so I need to stop cranking with my big shot. I have $25 credit on amazon. Is this s good price and do people recommend it. I saw that you tubers recommend buying s self healing mat and cutting it to size to be the top plate so you have less plate warping. What do the peas say?

I don't have the Gemini Jr but some of my crafty friends do. I used one for the first time at our last weekend get together. Its owner was cutting those Birch Press Designs intricate, multi-layered dies and it did an amazing job on them. Like butter!
I have the Vagabond 2 and have often wondered what I would buy when my machine dies. For a while, I was convinced it would be the Gemini because once you start it, you don't have to hold the button down to feed it through (I think that's how it works). But the more I think about it, the more I think I would miss the shelf that the Vagabond has. I use that shelf or platform to build my cutting sandwich. If I lost that space, I would have to use my desk surface and frankly, sometimes there just isn't enough clear space on my desk to do that. Also, being able to build that sandwich in place is a big help to my arthritic hands.
So, if I was making the decision today, I would buy another Vagabond. It's been a real work horse for me and, with proper shims, cuts everything I need it to.

I saw one on sale at Hobby Lobby for $129 so the Amazon price seems reasonable, especially with the credit.

I have a Gemini Jr that I bought at Hobby Lobby, using gift cards my DD and I have been given over the years. I like it. I like not having to hand crank, or even hold a button like with my Big Shot Express. It cuts well. I do rotate the cutting plates with each cut, which is a bit of a pain. I have not had anything it has not been able to cut yet.
