I'm not a hardcore Starbucks fan, but do taxes and many times a client wants to meet there to do business. I earn enough to get a free drink about once a year and also receive one on my birthday. The last time I got a free drink, I told the cashier to use the freebie on my card to pay for it. She tried to talk me into some kind of up-grade since it was free, like extra shots or extra syrups. Since I'm not a die hard customer there, I haven't a clue what to order. So what do the Starbucks drinkers order for their free drinks. TIA!

The same old boring latte I always get. I should try something new but I just don’t.

There's a sandwich that I love at Starbucks. Tomato mozzarella maybe? That's usually more expensive than whatever drink I'm getting, so I often use my freebie on that. Recently I found out that I had FIVE freebies! That was fun, let me tell you! As far as a drink, it depends on my mood. Sometimes I'll get my regular (which changes with the seasons); other times I'll try something new or have a Venti instead of a Grande. I recently tried the pina colada frappuccino. Mmmm, good!

In the winter I love their salted caramel hot cocoa...othewise I will get a frappacino or iced coffee

Gold card here. I always go for the biggest size of my normal drink- vanilla chai. Or I let my kid get some ridiculous frap that she read about online that makes the baristas roll their eyes.

I usually just upgrade to a grande, boring! I use soy so that’s another .50 time too. I like the chai tea lattes, vanilla soy lattes or a caramel frappe if I am splurging on calories lol. Often time, when I try new drinks, I don’t like them, so I stick with my favorites.

I usually end up just getting a bigger size then usual.
Sometimes I do get an extra shot. If I get a regular mocha, I may also add raspberry syrup.

Gold card member so I have frequent free drinks. I get the same thing I always get. Iced venti quad coconut milk latte with 4 shots sugar free vanilla syrup.

I have three gift cards in my purse. Probably $50 worth. I hate just the smell of coffee so I rarely go in. When I am with friends who drink it, I generally treat them to whatever they drink.

My damn Gold card is not working.. I really need to work on that. I probably should have about 10 free freaking drinks by now. I have called the 800 number numerous times to no avail. I just should start over. I hate spending time on this stuff.
Oh yeah and it happened when they updated their app a few years ago....
Oh that wasn't even what you wanted to hear.. HAHAHA
I usually just the largest same drink.. I don't like to experiment.

This is so good: vanilla bean frappuccino, add a banana, add 3 pumps of almond butter, only one scoop of vanilla bean powder, only 1 pump of base (you're cutting out all the sugar by doing this, and the banana will keep the smooth texture), add strawberry puree to the bottom of the cup.
Tastes like a pb&j ❤
Also good, that zesty chicken quinoa salad witha side of avocado spread. It's like $10, but it's so delicious, and even better when it's free!

Just know that those drinks as-is are ridiculously sweet in my opinion. Like a pumpkin spice latte has 4 shots of syrup in a grande. I got one the other day, and my husband forgot to tell them less syrup. It was ruined for me. I don't want you to get disappointed!

I can't drink a lot of their specialty and seasonal drinks. They are too cloyingly sweet for my taste. But, then again, I'm a very strong coffee with just a splash of regular milk kind of girl.
Just for something different, I usually order a chai tea on the rare occasions that I'm at a Starbucks.

I always get food with my rewards, since the food I like is slightly more expensive than the drink I usually get.
I like the tomato, mozzarella, pesto sandwich and the fruit and cheese box.

i get my regular drink but add a shot. Our local store came up with a sort of solution since they got rid of the "lite" frappucinos so I order a venti with only 3 pumps base and mocha - not as sweet tasting and it cuts a few calories out.
I've currently got 20 rewards on my card and uhhh my dog's card has 10!! Yup my dog LOL We might be addicts LOL

I will either use it on my kids frapps (and maybe let them get a venti!) or I add an extra shot of espresso to my drink (whatever I am drinking is usually a grande with 2 shots - I get 3). I use the freebie on whatever is going to me most expensive.

I use the rewards on food, like the quinoa salad or one of the sandwich plates. They usually cost $8-11, so it's a better deal than using it on a drink.
Be sure to keep track of the expiration date(s) of your stars. I don't recall them expiring back in the day (maybe I didn't hoard them then), but was surprised to get a notification a while back that I had some that were going to expire soon!
Enjoy your treat!

I usually get an Iced Caramel Machiatto with an extra shot. When it's free I get the Venti. I don't live close, so I only get a free one once or twice a year.

No one in my family drinks it either. Going to Vegas with a few ladies on Saturday and will probably get breakfast there. Hope it is in the hotel.

Thanks for the great ideas. I never thought about food. Only thing about that is the birthday freebie is only on your birthday and we are getting together to eat, sot I probably won't want food. I thought before the freebie was anytime during that week or month, so i was surprised to read I had to use it on the day.

I'm pretty sure I had a couple of days to use my bday reward back in January, but maybe they've changed the policy. I just get my regular, same drink with my freebie----Venti Strawberry Green Tea. Although this morning, I went crazy and got a Turkey Basil Pesto Panini for free.
