Here is the sketch challenge for September 19. I found this sketch through Scrapbook Generation's CREATE magazine, the May 2015 CREATE issue. I loved the versatility in this sketch and thought I'd use doilies in place of the circles. (That link takes you to the website so you can download the PDF if you'd like. It is free.) This is another double layout that you could easily convert into a single pager if you desired. Here is my layout sample. I loved using all of the different patterned paper backgrounds, and the vellum doilies seemed a perfect way to soften the layout, without getting too feminine of a feel to the layout about my sons. I changed up the configuration of photos to better suit my own story, and I love that this sketch gives you a nice background, and big blank "canvas" to work out your own photo configuration. [/url] sketchpennygrimsley (1) by Penny{scraps}, on Flickr And the TWIST: For day 19, your twist will be to include a camera icon (die cut, sticker, etc.) somewhere. {Mine are the two little camera die cuts on the upper right and lower right.} Please link your take on this sketch with or without the twist in this thread. Can't wait to see what you come up with! If you are a September Team player, check out how you can earn points for this in the September Team Challenges. If you are not a team member, that's fine, too. Just join in for the fun of it! Because SKETCHember only comes once a year!

Thanks, pennyscraps! Great sketch. Love all the different papers in your example, and how you tied it all together with the border strip and your use of black.

Thanks, pennyscraps ! Great sketch. Love all the different papers in your example, and how you tied it all together with the border strip and your use of black. Thank you!! It's actually a deep navy - Bazzill Admiral, I think. I love me some navy.

Nice sketch - those big color blocks work as such a great foundation and really set the tone depending on the PPs you choose. I love the choices you made for your layout. They're just perfect for the photos. And I really love the stitched doilies and the cluster you made for the upper right!
I know which photos I want to use for this one, but I haven't printed them yet so this page will have to wait a little while for me. I can't wait to see what the rest of you come up with!

What a fabulous page pennyscraps I love the navy too, and the blue pattern that almost matches your shirt, and the red, there's just so much to like I'll do something with the sketch, not sure what yet and I've got some catching up to do... And perhaps I ought to find some photos. All these sketches have used up my Library of Photos I Dare Share

pennyscraps wow, your LO is amazing! Love those doilies and you inspired me to do my star out of vellum I love all the papers you used and your little clusters, it's super lush! I just finished mine. The sketch threw me to be honest. So I went patterned paperless and small! I drew my rectangle and used Magicals inside to add colour. Then doodled my border. I did the cluster of banners and sewed them down and almost forgot to add a camera but I got it on there ok and filled the middle with Nuvos! Taking 21 for this which is amazing I know, there's hardly anything on it! 1 for a LO, 1 for sharing, 5 for sketch + twist, #3, #9, #12, #13, #15, #17, #21, #22, #31, #22, 31, #33, #42, #44, #45 and Sept Stash Challenge - handwriting & pre-made title.

Great sketch, I love it! This is my layout. I used the "Dude!" kit which is a GingerScraps design team collaboration. The photos are from my son's last day of primary school - Year 6 (high school is Year 7-12 here).

kiwigirl this is gorgeous! I love colours, and especially how you've kept them all contained inside the doodled box. AussieMeg I love how the circles and the narrow stripe pull all the colours together and the star texture on your solids is lovely.

Here is mine. I don't know why I keep ending up doing these more time-consuming 2 pagers - I'm trying to catch up on sketches and I'm 10 days behind, and you'd think I'd just simplify, no??? This one, well, I'm pretty happy Texture paste/stencil, old Bo-Bunny, Camera icon puffy stickers layout canadian climbers by kirstendrew, on Flickr

This is exactly what I caught myself doing tonight. Your layout was worth it, the pops of the texture paste against the black are stunning and I love the maple leaf and red/white alphas.

Love how you used the vellum star as a large photo mat, kiwigirl, the banner cluster, and all that delicious COLOUR,!! AussieMeg, I love all the different photos, and how your bold colours work together. That big star is perfect for a grad page, and I love the patterns on the circles. So much going on, yet that stripy border strip holds it all together. That black background really helps your colours POP, kitbop! Love the texture paste, and that maple leaf replacing the star. Well worth the effort that went into this 2 pager!

I like how you used the banners, circles, and the strip from the sketch, and the orange and green from your photos, Linda. I love two page sketches b/c that is how I scrap. Not sure if I will get to this one today, but it is definitely a possibility.

Great orchard layout grammadee, always a hard subject for me too even tho I have tonnes of orchard photos, and hard to nicely use the thematic paper - I love how you used the two greens in the middle to maintain calm and focus on yours! And the big apples are awesome!!!
