I've read and read and READ about these systems. I usually don't think I'm too stupid, but I think I might be in this instance. I want to have a simple security system. I don't have a ton of money to spend and I live in a very safe area. I just want to be safer.
Can any of you recommend one of the other? I understand that the Ring is easier to install and cheaper to have, and both of those things are important, but I also want one that works well!
Thanks!

We started with a ring, after less than a month it stopped working. Now we have the Nest one. I love it! I can see when we are having packages delivered, I can talk to people that are at the front door when we aren't home, it announces over our Google homes that someone is at the front door, you can have it save the video feed. Very happy!

Couldn't you do all those same things with your Ring?

We have a Ring doorbell and like it for all the reasons everyone else has said: ability to see who’s at the door, interact without opening the door, and have video of it. The decision for Ring over Nest for us came down to weather: the Ring can operate at a lower temperature than the Nest and we live in a cold climate. I think the annual fee is lower too.

A week later we added the doorbell. then a few weeks after that we added a camera for the backyard but mainly to see the dogs as we do have an older dog. we want to add the flood light and camera for the side of the house and possibly another camera for the dogs when we put them in the garage in the winter. It does not get too cold here as we are in southern California, but we cant trust our older dog to be in the house alone all day.

We have Ring and love it. We got a camera over our front door that has motion lights on it as well. It also has a speaker so you can hear what is being said and talk to whoever is on the front porch. It was easy to install and set up and super easy to monitor with the phone app. We have had no issues at all. We went with Ring over Nest because we had more first hand reviews from friends with Ring. We plan to add one at the back of the house and one over the garage in the next few months. I *think* it is $3 per month per camera for the cloud storage of the recordings.

I don't know about the ring details, it didn't work long enough for me to figure it out.

We have a Ring doorbell, a ring spotlight over the garage, and one in the backyard. We've been very satisfied with them.
We also have a Nest camera in the living room to keep an eye on our dog when we are out. We're also very satisfied with the Nest.
Both systems have good coverage, alerts, and picture quality.

We have the ring doorbell and love it. I love knowing who is at the door and if a package has been delivered or not. A few times my husband has answered the door from work over the speaker. It is easy to use and I want to get a few other cameras to add to it as well.
