It's been a long road. August 2017 he was let go from his job of 7 years and not in a nice way. Lies were told about him and it was nasty. Well in January after the unemployement insurance ran out, he got a part time job with a different local stage theatre. He loves working with them because at this theatre people actually are working for the enjoyment of entertaining and there's no back stabbing going on. They would love to have him full time but can't afford it right now. This theatre has really built itself up and hopes to get to the point that they can hire him full time. It's just going to take time. So he has interviews and nothing. Finally last week while at Career Edge in town, the person assigned to helping him get a job got a local posting for a bookkeeper. He was interviewed last Wednesday. On Thursday he had to meet the head bookkeeper. An hour and half after the meeting he got the call that he got the job! And I am so jealous of his job. He has a Monday to Friday job from 9-5. He hasn't had a schedule like that in decades. That just doesn't happen in theatre. Also the place closes for an hour for lunch. In 3 months he qualifies for benefits paid in full by the company. My min wage job I have no set schedule. Currently I'm half way through my 7 day stretch. I get two unpaid 15 minutes breaks. The owner pays for some of my benefits, I get to pay $56 per paycheck so in total I get about $200 off my paycheck. Though I have to say I'm must jealous that he got to bring free chocolate bars home on his second day. Which he put on my side of the bed because I texted him about my bad day at work. He's a bookkeeper for a wholesaler company. And the best part of this job is that he can still do some work with the local theatre since he gets every weekend off (I get every other weekend off).

Congrats to your husband! Job hunting is so stressful. We’ve been there multiple times. Ugh. I’m glad he found something that really is a good fit.

Wait until he goes to trade shows. And clear your schedule so you can go with him.
