Now that we have our own space, and before the November challenges start to land here, I was wondering what challenges are most inspiring to you.

I'm more inspired by subject and sketch challenges than technique and product challenges. I often don't have the products and don't want to buy them for just a layout or two. Except Nuvos - I now own a boatload of Nuvos!!

I really enjoy all the challenges! I would put 'technique' last because I'm not a very technique-y scrapper. Although having said that, all the challenges involving stamping have encouraged me to get my stamps out.
If they are over-complicated then I get a bit lost sometimes...like there was one to spell 'HAPPY' using the things on your layout? But that's totally just me being a bit befuddled!
I really appreciate everyone's enthusiasm and ideas.

I agree with gramma about being inspired by subject as well. I like technique and product challenges because I do have most of the products and they are languishing in my stash. While I do use sketches, I tend to choose the photos I want to to use and then choose a sketch to fit them, so it's definitely challenging for me to start with the sketch first.

I LOVE sketch challenges. I like challenges such as scrap a vacation or scrap a senior citizen or....because I can almost always find photos that work. I like product challenges IF I have the product. I don't care to run out and buy this and that and the other for a challenge. kiwigirl and her nuvos sucked me in though. I usually don't like technique challenges because I don't usually have the supplies for the technique (esp. mixed media) but something more simple like stamp on the layout or colourblocking I like. and like craftykitten - spelling out HAPPY just confuses me. I think I need a list of ideas for each letter.

I like sketch and colour challenges as they are often easiest to recreate digitally. Then again, technique and product challenges can also work because I try and make digital versions. The only one I'm not so good with is a kit challenge. Ultimately I like seeing something and then trying to recreate it

I love product challenges because I will no doubt have something in my stash, or I'll improvise as best I can. I'm happy with all the challenges, if I don't like one or can't do it, I just ignore it and do the ones I can. I know not every challenge will suit me

Thanks grammadee -I'll check it out kiwigirl - I think that's what's great about our challenge game - there's such a variety of challenges, that there is something for everyone

I want to add that I love all the challenges, and I know I won't complete them all (ever lol). There are the ones that push me a bit which I love and then there are others I won't be able to do. And it's all good!

I like most challenges except for color challenges. I am so uninspired when I force myself to work with colors I don't really want to work with.

The only challenges that DON'T help me are challenges to alter items, or use household items. I like my scrappy stash by itself I like the challenges for technique - stamping, dies, multi-media, tearing, layering, sewing - because they help me get out of ruts. I am finding the kit thing to be more a challenge (I'm just killing my first kit this month, I thought I'd kept it small but after 6 layouts of it I'm ready to be done with it. OTOH, the layouts really do have different vibes each, so I'm pleased with that!) I would love to see more recipe challenges/tic-tac-toe type challenges, where you can pick items off a list to qualify. So, instead of a challenge to simply use "ephemera", maybe you have to use ephemera AND tilt your photo AND some inking. But you could have 3 points for it. Then it wouldn't be so easy for me to just do my normal scrapping, but collect found points at the end ("yay, I used enamel dots. 1 point").

My favorites are simple recipe challenges and stash challenges that Chinagirl posts every month. I can grab a few things and go. I love sketches too, but usually forget to pick one before I start 🙄 lol
