When we moved to Houston in 2007, houses were literally selling w/in hours of being put on the market. The house I fell in love with had been on the market for two weeks, which would have been like two years in a normal market.
I was worried about resale, and kept thinking "What am I missing that makes other people not want to buy this house?" (I was really worried about resale).
There was Disney "fine art" hanging everywhere, but I could overlook that because I knew the owners would take it with them. I talked to our realtor and she said she thought the Disney art was why the house had not sold.
We ended up buying the house. When I joined the neighborhood bunco group, my new neighbors said "Which house did you buy?" I said "I can't think of their name, but they had a lot of Disney art." Everyone was like "Oh we know exactly which house you bought."
When we sold the house, we didn't have any trouble finding a buyer.

Wow! I love the house and pool and the property. The only thing I didn't like was in the living room area with the tall ceiling, there were these cut outs way up high in the wall (about the 14th/15th photo) - not sure what that is for except for maybe displaying stuff but how would you dust up there?
It does seem that maybe it was designed for a vacation rental home or something but my that is nice!

I think it's so pretty! I love Disney so I could easily live with the Disney decor here, which wasn't much. Something about the colors and the pool area remind me of Old Key West resort in Disney World which is one of our faves! ETA: The murky looking swivel slide into the pond AKA Alligator Alley is a hard NO for me!

So close, but no haunted mansion decor!

The exterior looks like they left a whole lot of painter's tape around the windows and pillars.

I'm not a Disney fan, but I would say that this was a really nice house. But that large pond was scary, according to mom's cousin who lives in Florida six months every year, any body of water that's larger than a tea cup, might have an alligator in it.

I read it as, mom's cousin lives there 6 months of the year. Not that alligators are only there for 6 months 😊 So much house though! I would love it, but not the lake (alligators) or the bugs generally. OH and I play a game of where in America we would move to. I'm scared of alligators, he's scared of bears...guess we'll have to cross this one off the list. Shame because the house is rather lovely.

I thought the path through the carpet in the bedroom might be so someone could come from the pool with wet feet and straight into their en-suite but I see it doesn’t go to the bathroom door. Weird. The house seems very inexpensive for the size but it would scare the living daylights out of me living there now alligators and snakes have been mentioned. Surely, although the house is cheap, you’d need to be fabulously wealthy to employ all the staff needed to keep the house, grounds, pool and lake up to scratch. I could see it being bought by a kids charity. There is a Christian charity which started in Scotland called Teen Ranch with horse based activity centres all over the world, and they would do great things with this place.

No Thank you, not clicking that link! I have a strong aversion to things that consider me dinner. (and they are only in Florida six months of the year because of their visa).

Once you all mentioned gators, I'm out. I like the disney stuff, and another one that can't believe that it is less than a million.
